  • Maple Leafs' Fraser Minten: Sent down to minors

Minten was reassigned to AHL Toronto on Tuesday.

Minten's demotion is a good indication that David Kampf (lower body) will be available against the Stars on Wednesday -- though he is officially still on long-term IR. For this part, the 20-year-old Minten has appeared in 11 NHL games this year in which he generated two goals, two assists and 31 hits while averaging 12:47 of ice time. Should the need arise, Minten figures to remain atop the list of potential call-ups for the rest of the year.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Three helpers Monday

McDavid notched three assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Panthers.

The superstar center extended his current point streak to six games, as he helped the Oilers grab a 4-2 lead midway through the second period. McDavid has been on fire since missing just three games in late October/early November with an ankle injury that was originally expected to cost him 2-3 weeks -- he's delivered 11 multi-point performances across his last 17 contests, erupting for 11 goals and 34 points in that span.

  • Sam Reinhart C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Two-point effort Monday

Reinhart scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 6-5 win over the Oilers.

After helping to set up Matthew Tkachuk in the final minute of the first period, Reinhart scored his own tally unassisted in the third on a spectacular individual effort -- he tipped an attempted Leon Draisaitl pass out of his own zone, raced down the ice to beat Mattias Ekholm to the puck, then banked it in off the back of Stuart Skinner from below the goal line. The goal was Reinhart's 20th of the season in only 32 games, tying him for third in the race for the Rocket Richard Trophy with Brayden Point and behind only Draisaitl (23) and Kirill Kaprizov (22).

  • Panthers' Carter Verhaeghe: Pots game-winner Monday

Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 6-5 victory over the Oilers.

With the score tied 5-5 midway through the third period, Verhaeghe flipped a wrister past a screened Stuart Skinner for his ninth goal of the season, and third GWG. Verhaeghe snapped a brief three-game point drought with the performance, but over the last 12 contests he's racked up five goals and 12 points, including seven points (two goals, five helpers) with the man advantage.

  • Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Won't play in Edmonton

Barkov (illness) won't suit up for Monday's road game against the Oilers, Panthers play-by-play announcer Steve Goldstein reports.

Barkov will miss his second straight game due to the illness. Jonah Gadjovich will remain in the lineup Monday. Sam Bennett and Anton Lundell will be Florida's top-six centers against the Oilers. Barkov has recorded nine goals and 29 points through 22 appearances.

  • Max Domi C | TOR

Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Finds twine in two-point effort

Domi scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Sabres.

The goal was Domi's first of the season, and he also snapped a 16-game point drought. The 29-year-old center had recently missed eight contests due to a lower-body injury, and Sunday was his fourth game back in action. He's been limited to eight points, 29 shots on net and 21 PIM over 23 appearances in a middle-six role.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

    Islanders' Bo Horvat: Remains day-to-day

Horvat (lower body) continues to be considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's matchup with Carolina, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

The fact that Horvat is traveling with the Islanders is certainly good news, though he was also held out of Sunday's game against Chicago while being considered day-to-day ahead of that contest. With New York notoriously stingy on player injury updates, fantasy managers may have to wait until puck drop to see if Horvat is actually suiting up versus Carolina on Tuesday.

  • Devin Shore C | MIN

    Wild's Devin Shore: Hits waivers

Shore was placed on waivers Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Shore has split time between the NHL and AHL this season. He hasn't earned a point in 12 appearances with the big club but has two goals and eight assists in 14 outings at the minor-league level.

  • John Tavares C | TOR

Maple Leafs' John Tavares: Natural hat trick Sunday

Tavares scored a hat trick, including one goal on the power play and an empty-netter, in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Sabres.

Tavares accomplished a natural hat trick by scoring the last three goals of the game, and he came through when the Maple Leafs needed him the most, as his three goals switched things from a 3-2 deficit to a 5-3 win for Toronto. This was his second hat trick of the current campaign, and he's up to 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists) in 30 games this season.

  • Kyle MacLean C | NYI

Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Nabs assist Sunday

MacLean notched an assist and four shots on goal in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Blackhawks.

MacLean has two points over his last four games, but offense will be tough to come by since he remains in a fourth-line role. The 25-year-old center is at five points, 22 shots on net, 40 hits and a minus-5 rating over 32 appearances. He had nine points in 32 regular-season outings last year. MacLean may be scratched or moved to the wing once Bo Horvat (lower body) returns to action.
