Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Could return Tuesday

Head coach Craig Berube said Monday that Domi (lower body) could return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against New Jersey, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Domi has missed the last eight games due to a lower-body injury, but he's been practicing over the past week and appears to be on the cusp of returning to game action. Even if he isn't cleared to suit up against the Devils, it seems likely that he'll be in the mix to play Thursday against the Ducks or Saturday against the Red Wings. Over 19 appearances prior to his absence, the 29-year-old recorded six assists, 11 blocked shots and seven hits while averaging 15:18 of ice time.

  • Kent Johnson C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Finds twine twice Sunday

Johnson scored two goals and took four shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Jets.

Johnson missed 14 games between Oct. 19 and Nov. 18 due to a shoulder injury, but the right winger has been playing at a high level when available. This two-goal performance snapped a three-game drought, but that stretch was the first time he couldn't crack the scoresheet all season long. Through 13 games, the 22-year-old is up to eight goals and six assists, and he's on pace to deliver career-best numbers as long as he remains healthy.

  • Noah Gregor C | FLA

    Senators' Noah Gregor: Notches helper

Gregor logged an assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders.

This was Gregor's first point in six games since he returned from an undisclosed injury that cost him five contests. The 26-year-old has held down a bottom-six role since his return, so he shouldn't be expected to generate a lot of offense. Gregor is at four points, 32 shots on net, 41 hits and 10 PIM through 22 outings this season.

  • Brad Lambert C | WPG

Jets' Brad Lambert: Sent to AHL

Lambert was assigned to AHL Manitoba on Monday.

Lambert was recalled by Winnipeg last week, and he made four appearances for the Jets during his stint in the NHL. He logged five hits, four blocked shots and a minus-1 rating while averaging 12:44 of ice time, and he'll head back to the minors after Nikita Chibrikov was called up Monday.

  • Kyle MacLean C | NYI

Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Pots goal in Sunday's win

MacLean scored a goal, added two PIM and logged two hits in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Senators.

Both of MacLean's goals this season have come over the last six games. The 25-year-old remains in a fourth-line role, which hasn't given him much of an opportunity to produce offense on a team that doesn't score a lot. He has four points, 15 shots on net, 38 hits and a minus-6 rating over 29 appearances, well behind the pace that saw him rack up nine points in 32 regular-season outings in 2023-24.

  • Josh Norris C | BUF

Senators' Josh Norris: Scores PP goal Sunday

Norris scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders.

Norris has cracked the scoresheet thrice over his last six outings, potting four goals and taking 12 shots in that span. The 25-year-old center has been very physical in that span as well, tallying 15 hits and seven blocked shots. Even though most of his fantasy upside will be tied to his scoring figures, Norris can offer extra value in formats that value hits and physicality.

  • Senators' Adam Gaudette: Scores in loss Sunday

Gaudette scored a goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders.

Gaudette opened the scoring for the Senators in the early stages of the first period with a wrister from close range following an impressive set-up from Noah Gregor. This was Gaudette's fifth goal over his last seven contests, and he's up to 13 on the campaign, which represents a new career-high mark for him. The 28-year-old should continue to find ample opportunities to produce given his role as a top-six forward.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Scores empty-netter Sunday

Horvat scored an empty-net goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Senators.

Horvat closed out the scoring for the Islanders with an empty-netter in the final minute of the third period. That was Horvat's seventh goal of the season, and while the 29-year-old continues to endure a slow start compared to his previous two seasons, he's showing signs of turning things around. The star playmaker has cracked the scoresheet in five of his last seven games, recording two goals and five assists in that span. He's also scored in back-to-back contests for the first time in 2024-25.

  • Kyle Palmieri RW | NYI

Islanders' Kyle Palmieri: Two power-play points

Palmieri notched a power-play goal and a power-play assist in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Senators.

Palmieri snapped a three-game point drought with this strong showing, as he made the most of the man advantage while playing a pivotal role in the Islanders' win. The 33-year-old veteran has been producing at a better-than-expected pace when compared to his recent campaigns, and he's up to 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 29 contests. He could have a shot at topping the 54-point haul he produced in 2023-24, which has been his best output since the 57-point season he delivered in 2015-16 while playing for the Devils.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Working in non-contact jersey

Tomasino (upper body) took the ice in a non-contact sweater Monday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.

Tomasino was classified by head coach Mike Sullivan on Saturday as day-to-day but the fact that he hasn't been cleared for contact certainly makes him a doubt heading into Tuesday's game against Colorado. Prior to getting hurt, the 23-year-old center was riding a four-game point streak during which he racked up three goals, one assists and 15 shots while slotting into a second-line role alongside Evgeni Malkin. With Tomasino shelved, Cody Glass moved into the second-line spot and will likely continue to play there if Tomasino can't suit up Tuesday.
