  • Sharks' Philipp Kurashev: Set to travel with team

Kurashev (upper body) will accompany the Sharks on the team's upcoming five-game road trip, according to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now on Sunday.

Kurashev participated in Sunday's practice and could play near the end of San Jose's trip, which begins against Vancouver on Tuesday and ends against Colorado on Feb. 4. He has missed the last 17 games and remains on injured reserve. Kurashev has registered six goals, 15 points, 49 shots on net and 30 hits in 31 appearances this season.

  • Andrew Copp C | DET

Red Wings' Andrew Copp: Dishes pair of assists

Copp notched two assists in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Copp helped out on J.T. Compher's tying goal in the second period and Alex DeBrincat's empty-netter in the third. While Copp has gone six games without a goal of his own, he has four assists in that span. The 31-year-old is up to 32 points, 78 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 31 hits and a minus-1 rating over 53 appearances. If he can earn 11 more points, he'll secure his best year as a Red Wing since joining the team ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

  • Marco Kasper C | DET

Red Wings' Marco Kasper: One of each in Saturday's win

Kasper scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, logged six hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Kasper's offense has improved recently with two goals and four assists over his last five games. That has helped him get back into a top-six role, though the first-line left wing spot he's currently in has been a revolving door for the Red Wings this season. Kasper is up to five goals, 12 points, 80 shots on net, 120 hits, 31 blocked shots, 29 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 52 appearances. He's been hit hard by the sophomore slump, but if he can sustain his recent success, he'll be a good waiver-wire pickup.

  • Jake Evans C | MON

Canadiens' Jake Evans: Gets first helper since return

Evans logged an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.

Evans picked up his first point in four games since returning from a lower-body injury. He missed 13 contests with the issue, and he's retaken a third-line spot. The 29-year-old has 11 points, 38 shots on net, 45 hits, 27 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 38 appearances this season. Evans should be a regular in the lineup thanks to his defensive prowess.

  • Blackhawks' Teuvo Teravainen: Not cleared for contact

Teravainen (upper body) took part in morning skate wearing a non-contact jersey and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Panthers, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Teravainen has missed the last five games with injury, and it looks like his absence will extend for at least a sixth game. Given that the 31-year-old has yet to be cleared for contact, it would seem his return is still at least a few days away. Teravainen has pieced together a solid season, registering 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) in 45 games.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Fills empty net

Monahan scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Lightning.

This was Monahan's second goal in the last three games. The 31-year-old's move down to the second line has made it tougher for him to contribute regularly on offense. He's produced eight goals, 24 points, 76 shots on net, 27 hits, 22 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 47 appearances. Monahan's on pace for closer to 40 points rather than matching the 19-goal, 57-point campaign he put up in just 54 outings in 2024-25.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Tallies again in loss

Marchessault scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Mammoth.

Marchessault has scored in back-to-back games. It remains to be seen if this will turn into a sustained run of offense -- the winger remains in a third-line role at even strength. He's produced nine goals, three assists, 69 shots on net, 46 hits and a minus-19 rating across 32 outings this season.

  • Marc Gatcomb C | NYI

Islanders' Marc Gatcomb: Slipping out of lineup

Gatcomb was scratched for the second straight game in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Sabres.

Gatcomb's role is shrinking with the return of Bo Horvat (lower body), who played Saturday. The Islanders have plenty of depth forwards, and Gatcomb hasn't stood out -- he's stuck in a 17-game point drought currently. The 26-year-old has put up just two points in 22 outings this season, adding 28 shots on net and 102 hits, but the Islanders may be reluctant to expose him to waivers.

  • Ryan McLeod C | BUF

Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Earns two helpers

McLeod logged two assists and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Islanders.

McLeod continues his strong January. He's up to four goals, eight assists and a plus-11 rating through 12 contests this month, though he's added just 12 shots on net, which raises a red flag for sustainability. The 26-year-old center is at 11 goals, 34 points, 61 shots and a plus-16 rating over 51 appearances while mainly playing on the second line.

  • Ross Colton C | COL

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Will miss another game

Colton (lower body) didn't take part in warmups and will miss Sunday's contest against the Maple Leafs, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.

Colton will miss a second straight game due to an injury sustained Wednesday against the Ducks. His status remains day-to-day, so there's a chance that he could return Wednesday in Ottawa. The 29-year-old has five goals and 15 assists in 48 games on the season.
