  • Andrew Copp C | DET

Red Wings' Andrew Copp: Two points including OT winner

Copp scored the overtime winner and added an assist in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes.

The goal wasn't without controversy, as Copp clearly cross-checked Shayne Gostisbehere in the back and knocked him to the ice to create space for himself in front of Frederik Andersen before banging home a feed from Alex DeBrincat, but the refs kept their whistles in their pockets. It was Copp's first GWG of the season, and he's been thriving in a top-six role for Detroit, collecting five goals and 12 points over the last 12 games.

  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Returning to action

Geekie (personal) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's home divisional matchup versus Detroit, according to Jim McBride of The Boston Globe.

Geekie missed his first game of the season Sunday against the Penguins due to the birth of his child, but he won't miss any further game action. The right-shot forward skated on the third line with Alex Steeves and Fraser Minten during Tuesday's morning skate. Geekie will resume his role with the man advantage as well, where he's garnered 12 of his 41 points (25 goals, 16 helpers) across 45 appearances this season.

  • Avalanche's Zakhar Bardakov: Sent down to AHL

Bardakov was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Tuesday.

After 32 games at the NHL level, Bardakov will take his first trip to the AHL following Tuesday's news. While he had just begun to produce points consistently with three helpers across his last four games, his inconsistency in finding the scoresheet during the months prior kept him in a limited role. The 24-year-old forward has shown promise in his first NHL season with eight points, but he may need more time to retool his game in the minors before potentially rejoining the Avalanche later this season.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: One of each in win

Hyman scored a goal, distributed an assist and recorded two shots on net in Monday's 4-1 win over Chicago.

Hyman netted a goal midway through the opening period before sliding the lone assist on Evan Bouchard's empty-net score in the third. Overall, Hyman now has 14 goals, 11 assists, 80 shots on net and 32 hits through 27 games this season. Since Dec. 11, Hyman has elevated his game with 19 points over his last 16 contests. If he can maintain close to a point-per-game pace for the rest of the regular season, Hyman could still finish the campaign around 60 points, making him an excellent fantasy option to have down the stretch.

  • Kraken's Oscar Fisker Molgaard: Demoted to minors

Fisker Molgaard was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Tuesday.

Fisker Molgaard served as a healthy scratch for the Kraken's last three games, so his demotion to the minors shouldn't come as a surprise. While the Dane could be brought back up at some point during the season, he is unlikely to log enough ice time to be more than a low-end fantasy option.

  • Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Rejoins active roster

Stephenson (personal) was activated off the non-roster list Tuesday.

Stephenson's return to the active roster should clear the way for him to suit up in Wednesday's clash with the Devils. In his last 17 outings, the center has tallied at least a point in 13 of those contests, racking up a combined seven goals and eight assists, including six power-play points.

  • Martin Necas C | COL

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Scores goal, assist versus Leafs

Necas scored a goal on five shots and generated an assist in a 4-3 loss to Toronto on Monday.

Necas has seven multi-point games in his last 16 outings, producing a combined seven goals and 11 helpers. During that stretch, only two of the winger's points have come with the man advantage despite him averaging 3:55 of power-play ice time.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Garners trio of helpers

MacKinnon racked up three assists in Monday's 4-3 loss to Toronto.

MacKinnon has been boom or bust of late, generating six multi-point efforts in his last nine outings while being blanked in the other three. With 81 points in 45 games this year, the world-class center is on pace to top his career-best year from 2023-24 when he notched 140 points in 82 regular-season tilts.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Scores goal, assist Monday

Matthews scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Monday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.

Matthews seems to have found his scoring touch of late, racking up eight goals and six assists, including four power-play points, in his last eight outings. While it seems unlikely that the 28-year-old center will be able to get over the 60-goal mark, he should be capable of reaching 40 after coming up short of that mark in 2024-25.

  • Tristan Broz C | PIT

Penguins' Tristan Broz: Recalled from minors

Broz was promoted from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday.

Broz will change places with Rafael Harvey-Pinard, who was sent down to the minors in a corresponding move. Selected by the Pens in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old Broz has racked up 11 goals and 13 helpers in 33 games for the Baby Pens. With the youngster on the NHL roster, he could be pressed into service versus the Lightning on Tuesday.
