  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Four more points Saturday

MacKinnon scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added three assists and logged two hits in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.

Two of MacKinnon's helpers came on Brock Nelson power-play goals as part of the Avalanche's third-period rally. The 30-year-old MacKinnon has logged back-to-back four-point efforts, and he's earned five goals and eight assists over his last four outings. The superstar center continues to dominate, with 35 goals, 74 points (18 on the power play), 182 shots on net, 34 hits and a plus-51 rating over 40 appearances. At this pace, the 150-point threshold isn't out of reach, though he is shooting a career-high 19.2 percent.

  • Brock Nelson C | COL

Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Strikes twice on power play

Nelson scored two power-play goals on seven shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.

Nelson was at the heart of the Avalanche's comeback, starting the rally 1:09 into the third period before scoring the eventual game-winner at 7:30 of the frame. The 34-year-old center has multiple points in three straight contests and has earned five goals and five assists through his last six outings. For the season, he's up to 18 goals, 32 points, 83 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 21 hits and a plus-13 rating over 40 appearances.

  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Racking up accolades

Celebrini picked up an assist in a 7-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Celebrini extended his point streak to 10 games (seven goals, 13 assists). The 19-year-old, who was named to Team Canada this week for the upcoming Olympics, will be the first teenager to represent Canada in men's hockey at an Olympic event that features NHL players. Celebrini is third in NHL scoring with 63 points (22 goals, 41 assists) through 41 games, and on New Year's Day, he was named the NHL's third star for December. His 62 points in 40 games is third best among teenagers in the NHL behind Wayne Gretzky (21 goals, 49 assists; 70 points) in 1980-81 with Edmonton and Sidney Crosby (21 goals, 45 assists; 66 points in 2006-07 with Pittsburgh.

  • Avalanche's Alex Barre-Boulet: Trio of helpers in AHL win

Barre-Boulet registered three assists in AHL Colorado's 5-2 win over Henderson on Saturday.

Barre-Boulet is on a seven-game point streak, during which he has three goals and nine assists. For the season, the veteran forward has picked up nine goals and 19 helpers through 29 appearances. Barre-Boulet hasn't gotten a look with the Avalanche yet, but he's doing what he can to put himself into consideration for a call-up.

  • Predators' Jake Lucchini: Two goals for Admirals in loss

Lucchini scored twice on four shots in AHL Milwaukee's 4-3 shootout loss to Texas on Saturday.

Lucchini has done his part this season with 10 goals and 17 assists over 30 appearances. He's scored six of his goals over his last 10 contests. The 30-year-old forward is probably just going to be an AHL veteran this year, as the Predators are more likely to be interested in rewarding prospects with call-ups in the second half of the NHL campaign.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Four assists in last two games

Guentzel put up two assists in a 7-3 victory over San Jose on Saturday.

Guentzel has four assists in his last two games. He has 15 points, including 11 assists, in his last 12 games. Seven of those points (one goal, six assists) have come with the man advantage. Guentzel has 18 goals, 25 assists, 15 power-play points and 106 shots in 41 games so far, and he's on pace for his second-straight 80-plus point seasons.

  • Lightning's Dominic James: First goal in nine games

James scored a goal in a 7-3 win over the Sharks on Saturday.

It was the rookie's first goal in nine games. James' ice time dropped on Tampa Bay's three-game road trip. He centers the fourth line, and given the league-wide depth at that position, his fantasy value is limited at this time. He has three goals, five assists, 36 hits and 26 shots through 26 games this season.

  • Ethan Czata C | TB

Lightning's Ethan Czata: Earns pair of points

Czata scored a goal and added an assist in OHL Niagara's 5-4 overtime win over Barrie on Saturday.

Czata hadn't posted a multi-point effort since Dec. 11, and he had gone scoreless in the previous three contests before Saturday. The forward is up to 16 goals and 10 assists through 33 appearances for the IceDogs this season. A 2025 second-round pick of the Lightning, Czata's offense hasn't reached another level this year, which is mildly discouraging for his long-term potential.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Finally warming up as streak grows

Point had a goal and an assist in a 7-3 victory over San Jose on Saturday.

The Sharks started flat-footed, and Point made them pay early on a 3-on-2. His assist came later on the power play. Point is on a five-game, seven-point scoring streak (11 shots), and he has a power-play point in each of his last two games. He's also on a three-game goal streak (four). Point has scuffled this season, and he has just 10 snipes in 34 games after averaging 46 goals over his last three regular seasons. His luck is improving, and that means you'll benefit from a strong second half as you drive to your own playoffs.

  • Lightning's Conor Geekie: Three-point effort in big AHL win

Geekie scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Syracuse's 6-0 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.

Geekie earned his first multi-point effort in eight games during this lopsided victory. He's been doing just about everything right for the Crunch, picking up nine goals and 20 helpers in 28 appearances this season. Geekie's sustained success on offense could help him earn another call-up later in 2025-26.
