  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Out again Thursday

Marchessault (lower body) won't play versus the Kraken on Wednesday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Marchessault is set for his seventh straight game. The 35-year-old winger is still considered day-to-day, but it's not yet clear if he's close to returning. His next chance to play is Saturday in Calgary.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Three points including game-winner

Schmaltz scored two even-strength goals, one the game-winner, and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 7-2 rout of the Islanders.

The 29-year-old center gave the Mammoth a 3-1 lead late in the second period, turning an Isles turnover at the Utah blue line into a 2-on-1 break that he cashed in himself. Schmaltz hasn't gone back-to-back games without getting onto the scoresheet in a month, and over the last 14 contests he's racked up four goals and 14 points despite managing only two power-play points, both assists, during that span.

  • Shane Pinto C | OTT

Senators' Shane Pinto: Two helpers in Thursday's win

Pinto collected two assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

After being held off the scoresheet Monday in his return from a lower-body injury, Pinto sparked Ottawa's offense to life in the second period Thursday, helping to set up tallies by Nick Jensen and Ridly Greig. It was Pinto's first multi-point performance since the second game of the season, and through 29 contests he's produced 12 goals and 20 points with 68 shots on net, 36 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-5 rating.

  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Good to go Thursday

Dickinson (undisclosed) will play Thursday versus the Stars, per CHGO Sports.

Dickinson appears to have dodged a serious injury. He'll be back in a middle-six role after leaving Tuesday's game versus the Islanders early. Dickinson has three points over his last seven outings.

  • Rory Kerins C | CGY

Flames' Rory Kerins: On 10-game point streak in AHL

Kerins logged two assists in AHL Calgary's 3-2 overtime win over Colorado on Thursday.

Kerins is on a 10-game point streak, earning five goals and eight assists in that span. The 23-year-old is playing at a high level for the second year in a row, earning 12 goals and 20 helpers through 31 appearances. Kerins got into two NHL games earlier in the year, and he should be in consideration for a call-up at some point in the second half of the campaign.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Needs further evaluation

Horvat will be evaluated Friday for an apparent lower-body injury sustained in Thursday's game versus the Mammoth, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Horvat was hurt in the third period and struggled to get off the ice and limped down the tunnel. The Islanders didn't have a specific update, but more information should be available after he's evaluated more thoroughly. If Horvat can't play Saturday versus the Maple Leafs, Anthony Duclair or Marc Gatcomb will get back into the lineup, while Simon Holmstrom or Calum Ritchie could see a boost in ice time.

  • Danton Heinen LW | CLB

Blue Jackets' Danton Heinen: Up from AHL

Heinen was called up by Columbus on Thursday.

Miles Wood (leg) was put on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Heinen had a goal and two points in 13 appearances with Pittsburgh this season. The Blue Jackets acquired him from the Penguins on Monday in exchange for Yegor Chinakhov. Heinen was initially assigned to AHL Cleveland after the trade, and he registered an assist in one game with the Monsters before being summoned to the big club.

  • Avalanche's Gavin Brindley: Questionable for Saturday

Brindley (lower body) is day-to-day, and he'll travel with the Avalanche to Carolina ahead of Saturday's game against the Hurricanes, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post.

Brindley sustained the injury during Wednesday's 6-1 win over St. Louis. He has five goals and nine points in 27 appearances in 2025-26. If Brindley plays Saturday, it will probably be as part of the fourth line.

  • Zach Dean C | STL

Blues' Zach Dean: Clears Player Assistance Program

Dean was cleared by the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and reassigned to AHL Springfield on Thursday.

Dean had a goal and four points in 11 regular-season appearances with Springfield in 2024-25. He hasn't played yet this season. He was originally selected by Vegas with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, and St. Louis acquired Dean from the Golden Knights on Feb. 26, 2023 in exchange for Ivan Barbashev.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Canucks' Marco Rossi: Out for at least one week

Rossi (lower body) will be out of the Canucks' lineup for at least a week, Randip Janda of Sportsnet 650 reports Thursday.

Rossi missed Thursday's practice and the final eight minutes of Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia, per Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com. The 24-year-old Rossi has five goals and 15 points in 25 outings between Minnesota and Vancouver this season. Aatu Raty is slated to draw back into the lineup Friday versus Seattle because of Rossi's injury.
