  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Draws assist Saturday

Jankowski recorded an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Lightning.

Jankowski went eight games without a point, and he was scratched twice in that span. The 31-year-old likely won't be in the lineup when the Hurricanes are fully healthy, but he has some time to play now that Seth Jarvis (upper body) is on injured reserve. For the season, Jankowski has five points, 22 shots on net, 16 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 24 outings as a defensive specialist in a bottom-six role.

  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Finds twine again in loss

Protas scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Red Wings.

Protas has scored in consecutive games, and he has six goals and an assist over his last 10 outings. The 24-year-old forward is up to 12 goals, 22 points, 73 shots, 24 blocked shots, 15 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-20 rating over 35 appearances. He continues to excel at even strength, but he's a few steps back from last year, when he potted 30 goals and added 36 assists over 76 regular-season contests.

  • Dylan Larkin C | DET

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Pots empty-netter

Larkin scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Capitals.

Larkin ended a four-game slump with the empty-netter. The 29-year-old is 10 games removed from his last multi-point effort, but the Red Wings are still finding ways to get results even with their captain's scoring pace slipping in December. For the season, Larkin is at 18 goals, 34 points, 110 shots on net, 23 blocked shots, 26 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 36 appearances.

  • Ducks' Nikita Nesterenko: Stuck outside of lineup

Nesterenko was scratched for the 11th game in a row in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

The 24-year-old made the team out of training camp and has earned eight points, 22 shots on net, 41 hits and a plus-1 rating over 23 appearances this season. Nesterenko would require waivers to go to AHL San Diego. The Ducks are likely hesitant to risk losing him for nothing, but it'll take at least one injury to a forward for him to get back in the lineup regularly.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Tickles twine in win

McTavish scored a goal on six shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

McTavish has a goal and an assist over his last two outings as he looks to move past a recent five-game point drought. The center put the Ducks ahead 3-2 in the second period. He's now at eight goals, 67 shots, 36 hits, 34 PIM, 21 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 36 appearances this season. McTavish continues to handle middle-six minutes.

  • Ducks' Mikael Granlund: Earns pair of points in win

Granlund scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

Granlund looks to be up to speed now -- he's scored in three straight games with five total points in that span. The 33-year-old forward opened the scoring at 2:14 of the first period and set up Pavel Mintyukov's goal with 3:29 left in regulation time. Granlund is up to six goals, eight helpers, 39 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through 18 outings overall. He'll likely remain in a middle-six role since the Ducks have enough young talent to play in top-six roles.

  • Lightning's Dominic James: Two assists in win

James picked up two assists in a 6-4 win over Carolina on Saturday.

James has seven points, including five assists, in 22 games this season. He also has 31 hits. James is a sixth-round pick playing in his first NHL season. It's a nice story for the 23-year-old, but he's not fantasy-worthy at this point.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Eight points in last six games

Point scored a goal Saturday in a 6-4 win over Carolina.

He put the Bolts up 3-2 early in the second period when he redirected a pass into an open net behind Pyotr Kochetkov. Point has eight points (three goals, five assists) over his past six games. His 9.5 shooting percentage remains abysmal relative to his 18.4 career average, so expect a goal run soon enough. Point has really started to warm up -- he had 11 points in his first 22 games prior to this run. The window to get him in trade is closing.

  • John Beecher C | CGY

Flames' John Beecher: Pockets assist in win

Beecher notched an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights.

Beecher has chipped in two assists over 15 appearances with the Flames since they claimed him off waivers from the Bruins. Overall, he has three points, 20 shots on net, 15 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 21 outings this season. Beecher looks to be securely in a fourth-line role for now, though he could be pressured by Justin Kirkland for playing time.

  • Flames' Blake Coleman: Dishes pair of assists

Coleman notched two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights.

Coleman helped out on the first and last goals of the game to earn his first multi-point effort since Nov. 23 versus the Canucks. The 34-year-old has six points over nine outings in December, and he's up to 17 points, 83 shots on net, 84 hits, 26 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-12 rating through 36 contests this campaign. He hasn't provided a hit in three of his last six games. Physicality is typically Coleman's best fantasy contribution, but he has been making up for it with steady offense.
