Lizotte was placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury Tuesday.
Lizotte registered an assist, two hits and two blocks in 13:59 of ice time against Dallas on Sunday, so it's not immediately clear when the 27-year-old forward was injured. The Penguins had been getting healthy, with Justin Brazeau and Noel Acciari returning Sunday, but suddenly they are thin at forward again with both Lizotte and Evgeni Malkin (upper body) landing on injured reserve.

Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Placed on injured reserve
Malkin (upper body) was designated for injured reserve Tuesday.
Malkin's injury was originally downplayed by head coach Dan Muse, who had initially said he believed Malkin might be available for Sunday's clash with Dallas. Now, the 39-year-old center is suddenly on injured reserve, which will cause him to miss at least Pittsburgh's next two outings. With Geno on the shelf, Kevin Hayes has been pressed into service as the Pens' second-line center.

Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Back in lineup Monday
Kozak (undisclosed) is in the lineup for Monday's game in Calgary.
Kozak will return to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 29 in Minnesota. The Manitoba native is expected to skate on the fourth line with Peyton Krebs and Beck Malenstyn. Kozak has two goals, four points and 53 hits across 19 appearances this season.

Penguins' Noel Acciari: Draws helper in return
Acciari notched an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Acciari returned from an upper-body injury that cost him 12 games. He slotted back onto the fourth line and will likely be there a majority of the time moving forward. Through 14 outings this season, the defensive forward has four helpers, 13 shots on net, 21 hits, 10 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-3 rating.

Penguins' Connor Dewar: Opens scoring in loss
Dewar scored a goal and added five hits in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Dewar ended a four-game slide with the tally. The forward had a brief stint on the top line, but he's back in his more familiar spot on the fourth line now, which will lead to limited scoring chances. He's produced six goals, three assists, 43 shots on net, 55 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 27 appearances.

Oilers' Jack Roslovic: Expected back around Christmas
The Oilers announced Monday that Roslovic (undisclosed) will likely be in the mix to return around Christmas, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Roslovic has been sidelined for just over a week due to his undisclosed injury, and the issue is expected to sideline him for approximately a month. Prior to his absence, Roslovic had recorded 10 goals, eight assists, eight hits, eight PIM and seven blocked shots while averaging 17:20 of ice time over 23 appearances.

Oilers' Noah Philp: Returns to practice Monday
Philp (upper body) returned to practice Monday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Although Philp was back at practice Monday, he's expected to require at least another week before he's in the mix to return to game action. The 27-year-old has been on long-term injured reserve since mid-November due to an upper-body injury. He made 15 appearances prior to his absence, recording two goals, an assist, 24 hits, four PIM and two blocked shots while averaging 10:02 of ice time.

Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Likely still out Monday
Pettersson (upper body) is still being evaluated and is unlikely to be in the lineup against the Red Wings on Monday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.
Pettersson is poised to miss his second straight game due to his lingering upper-body issue. For now, fantasy managers will have to take a wait-and-see approach in regard to the center's availability, though an update is reportedly expected to be available Monday or Tuesday.

Canucks' Teddy Blueger: Hopes to return after Christmas
Head coach Adam Foote said Monday that Blueger (lower body) now hopes to return after Christmas, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports.
Blueger has been limited to just two appearances during the 2025-26 season due to an undisclosed issue followed by a lower-body injury. He resumed skating in mid-November but suffered a setback shortly after. It's not yet clear whether the 31-year-old has returned to the ice following his setback, but he's slated to require at least a few more weeks on the shelf before he's in the mix to return to game action.

Kraken's Berkly Catton: Deemed week-to-week
Catton (upper body) is week-to-week, the team announced Monday.
During his last outing, Catton logged 12:17 of ice time in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Detroit. He has compiled five assists, 17 shots on goal and 14 blocked shots across 21 appearances this season. With Catton set to miss some time, Jani Nyman will probably return to the lineup in Monday's game against Minnesota.
