Sabres' Tage Thompson: Officially playing against Canada
Thompson (undisclosed) will be available for Sunday's gold medal game against Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports.
Thompson exited Friday's semifinal win over Slovakia after blocking a shot off his foot, but he was expected to suit up in the gold medal game and has officially been given the green light against Canada. He's been productive during the 2026 Winter Olympics, recording three goals, an assist and a plus-3 rating across his five appearances.

Sidney Crosby C | PIT
Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Won't play against United States
Crosby (lower body) has been ruled out for Sunday's gold medal game against the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Crosby sustained his lower-body injury during Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup against Czechia and was unavailable for Friday's semifinal against Finland. The 38-year-old was considered a game-time decision for Sunday's gold medal game after skating at a closed practice Saturday, but he'll ultimately be held out against Team USA in what seems likely to be his final Olympics. Crosby will now shift his focus toward the resumption of the NHL season, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up for the Penguins' matchup against New Jersey on Thursday.

Owen Martin C | WPG
Jets' Owen Martin: Logs four more points
Martin scored a goal and added three assists in WHL Spokane's 7-1 win over Tri-City on Saturday.
Martin has five goals and four assists over his last three games. That's an unusual burst of offense for the Jets prospect, who typically plays more of a two-way game. Even with the surge, he's up to 40 points in 53 appearances this season -- while a career-best total, it's not much compared to more talented prospects.

Ivan Ivan C | COL
Avalanche's Ivan Ivan: Picks up three points
Ivan scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Colorado's 6-3 win over Coachella Valley on Saturday.
Ivan snapped a nine-game point drought with the effort. He's picked up just 14 points in 44 outings this season for the Eagles. He also has one assist in seven NHL contests, but if he can't show more offense in the AHL, his opportunities with the big club could disappear.

Alex Barre-Boulet C | COL
Avalanche's Alex Barre-Boulet: Collects four points in AHL win
Barre-Boulet scored a goal and added three assists in AHL Colorado's 6-3 win over Coachella Valley on Saturday.
Barre-Boulet is third in the AHL with 51 points in just 48 appearances. He's earned three goals and five assists over six outings in February. Barre-Boulet will likely spend much of the rest of the campaign in the AHL unless injuries take a toll on the Avalanche's NHL roster.

Matyas Sapovaliv C | LV
Golden Knights' Matyas Sapovaliv: Two goals in AHL win
Sapovaliv scored twice in AHL Henderson's 4-3 win over Abbotsford on Saturday.
Sapovaliv is one goal and one point shy of matching his totals from last season. He has 10 goals, eight assists, a minus-10 rating and 74 appearances this season. The 2022 second-round pick has picked up the pace lately, earning six goals and three assists over his last 13 contests.

Brandon Gorzynski C | DAL
Stars' Brandon Gorzynski: Picks up three points Saturday
Gorzynski scored a goal and added two assists in WHL Prince Albert's 4-1 win over Swift Current on Saturday.
Gorzynski has three goals and four assists over his last four outings. He went eight games without a multi-point effort prior to this improved stretch of play. Between Prince Albert and Calgary this season, Gorzynski has 27 goals, 37 assists and a plus-22 rating in 54 appearances, a big step up from his 42-point effort in 68 regular-season contests from last year.

Conor Geekie C | TB
Lightning's Conor Geekie: Trio of assists Saturday
Geekie logged three assists in AHL Syracuse's 4-3 loss to Charlotte on Saturday.
Geekie has eight helpers over his last five games, but he hasn't scored a goal in that span. The 21-year-old forward is up to 13 goals, 36 assists, 142 shots on net and a plus-14 rating through 45 appearances this season. He's taken a big step forward with his consistency in the AHL this year, which positions him well to be an option for the Lightning as soon as 2026-27.

Jonathan Huberdeau C | CGY
Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: On injured reserve
Huberdeau (hip) was put on injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Huberdeau will undergo season-ending hip surgery in March. He'll conclude the year with 10 goals and 25 points in 50 regular-season appearances. The 32-year-old forward has an eight-year, $84 million contract with a no-movement clause that runs through 2030-31, making it likely he will return to Calgary next season.

Nick Paul C | TB
Lightning's Nick Paul: No timeline for return
Paul (undisclosed) doesn't have a timeline in place for his return to the lineup, per Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times on Wednesday.
Paul hasn't been participating in practices after missing two straight games before the Olympic break. He isn't expected to be available to play next week when Tampa Bay's schedule resumes against Toronto on Wednesday, and it sounds like he will miss additional time afterward. Paul has six goals, 12 points, 48 shots on net and 42 hits in 34 appearances this season.
