  • Devin Shore C | MIN

Wild's Devin Shore: Gets on scoresheet with helper

Shore registered an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Capitals.

Shore stuck in the lineup over Brendan Gaunce following Marcus Foligno's return from a five-game absence. The helper ended Shore's 13-game point drought. The 30-year-old forward is still firmly in a fourth-line role, and he'll likely lose his spot once Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) or Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) can return. Shore has a meager five points with 36 shots on net, 70 hits, 34 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 50 appearances.

  • Penguins' Blake Lizotte: Gets goal Thursday

Lizotte scored a goal on two shots, added two hits, logged two PIM and went minus-2 in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Sabres.

Lizotte ended a 17-game goal drought with his third-period tally. In that span, he had five assists, seven shots on net, 16 hits and a minus-8 rating. The 27-year-old is typically more of a defensive forward, but the Penguins' center depth has been tested by the absences of Evgeni Malkin (upper body) and Thomas Novak (lower body), allowing Lizotte to see more ice time. For the season, he has 10 goals, 19 points, 47 shots, 58 hits and a minus-5 rating over 55 appearances.

  • Alex Newhook C | MON

Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Deposits goal in loss

Newhook scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Flyers.

Newhook has three goals and an assist over 12 outings in March. It's not much, but it continues the modest and steady pace he started in February. Overall, the 24-year-old center has 14 goals, 24 points, 103 shots on net, 75 hits and a minus-19 rating through 71 appearances. This is still likely to be his worst full NHL campaign, but it's yet to cost him a spot on the Canadiens' second line.

  • Canadiens' Christian Dvorak: Nets goal in Thursday's loss

Dvorak scored a goal on three shots and blocked three shots in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Flyers.

Dvorak has found his scoring touch lately with four goals and three assists over his last six games. The 29-year-old is still playing in a third-line role, so it remains to be seen if these gains will stick. He's up to 10 goals, 27 points, 98 shots on net, 38 hits, 63 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 71 appearances, giving him an outside chance of getting to the 30-point mark for the first time since 2021-22.

  • Jets' Rasmus Kupari: Considered day-to-day

Head coach Scott Arniel said Friday that Kupari experienced "a bit of a setback" related to his previous concussion and is considered day-to-day, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Kupari dealt with a concussion in early March and had been a healthy scratch recently, but he returned to action Tuesday against Washington and recorded 5:44 of ice time in the win. However, he's apparently still hampered by his injury and will be unavailable for at least one more game. It's not yet known when he'll be medically cleared to return.

  • Canucks' Teddy Blueger: In doubt Friday

Blueger is questionable to play in Friday's matchup with Columbus due to the flu, Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reports.

Blueger hasn't missed a game all season, logging eight goals and 15 helpers in 72 contests while averaging 14:20 of ice time. As a precaution, the Canucks recalled Max Sasson from AHL Abbotsford under emergency conditions. If Blueger were to miss out, Linus Karlsson could shift to his natural center spot on the second line.

  • Josh Dunne C | BUF

Sabres' Josh Dunne: Returned to AHL

Dunne was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Friday, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.

Dunne saw fourth-line minutes Thursday, only playing 6:55 in a 7-3 win over Pittsburgh. The 26-year-old has nine goals, 17 assists and 44 PIM in 58 AHL games this season.

  • Flyers' Sean Couturier: Big night against Montreal

Couturier scored two goals, one the game-winner on the power play, and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Canadiens.

A Montreal turnover midway through the third period sprung Philly for a 2-on-1, and Couturier used Travis Konecny as a decoy before snapping the puck past Jakub Dobes to give the Flyers a 5-2 lead. Remarkably, it was Couturier's first power-play goal of the season. The 32-year-old has gotten onto the scoresheet in five straight games, racking up four goals and eight points over that stretch, and Thursday's performance got Couturier up to 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists) on the season in 71 appearances.

  • Connor Zary C | CGY

Flames' Connor Zary: Initial assessment encouraging

Zary (knee) underwent an initial assessment that offered encouraging results, but he'll require further testing and imaging to determine the extent of his injury, Darren Dreger of TSN reports Friday.

Zary sustained a left knee injury during Thursday's game against the Stars and appeared to be in considerable pain, so it's encouraging that he appeared to get at least some good news in the immediate aftermath. However, he also dealt with a left knee injury earlier in the season that forced him to miss 15 games, so his availability for the final three weeks of the regular season isn't yet clear. If Zary misses additional time, Yegor Sharangovich will likely draw into the lineup.

  • Max Sasson C | VAN

Canucks' Max Sasson: Recalled by Vancouver

Sasson was recalled from AHL Abbotsford under emergency conditions Friday.

Sasson was sent to the minors in late January, but he'll rejoin the Canucks to provide additional depth since Elias Pettersson (undisclosed), Nils Hoglander (undisclosed) and Filip Chytil (concussion) are all sidelined. Over 24 appearances with Vancouver this year, he's recorded two goals, four assists, 14 hits and 13 blocked shots while averaging 10:06 of ice time.
