Even with injuries piling up on the blue line, the 27-year-old Clague figures to serve as a healthy scratch with Ville Heinola taking the open spot in the lineup.

Morrissey (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.

Morrissey's placement on IR confirms that the blueliner will miss a period of time, which coincides with earlier reports Monday. The 30-year-old defenseman missed each of Canada's last five games at the 2026 Winter Olympics after leaving their first contest following a collision with Czechia's Ondrej Palat. Morrissey has compiled 10 goals, 42 points, 104 shots on net and 94 blocked shots across 56 games for Winnipeg this season. The Jets' task of rejoining the wild-card race in the Western Conference will be difficult without their lead defenseman, who will miss at least three games. His earliest chance to return is March 3 versus Chicago.

Morrissey (upper body) will likely be sidelined when the Jets resume play this week, TSN.ca reports Monday.

Morrissey missed five games at the Olympics after sustaining an upper-body injury during Canada's tournament opener, and the issue is expected to force him to miss some time in the NHL. The blueliner still needs to be evaluated by the Jets' medical staff once he returns from Italy, but head coach Scott Arniel said Monday that Morrissey has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Canucks but could join the team at some point during the three-game road trip immediately following the Olympic break.

Connauton was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Monday.

Connauton hasn't played in an NHL game since 2021-22, when he played in 39 regular-season games for the Panthers and Flyers. The veteran blueliner was on the Mammoth roster during the Olympic break but will now rejoin the Roadrunners. Given his lack of NHL opportunities, Connauton figures to be a non-factor in fantasy contests.

Szuber was assigned to AHL Tucson on Monday.

Szuber practiced with Utah on Sunday after being summoned from the minors. He has notched 10 goals and 24 points in 44 AHL outings this season.

Gleason was assigned to AHL Iowa on Sunday.

Gleason has one goal and 16 assists in 44 minor-league appearances this campaign. He hasn't seen any NHL action since he appeared in four games with Dallas during the 2018-19 regular season.

Carlson (lower body) is day-to-day, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com on Sunday.

Carlson skated for about 20 minutes Sunday after missing the last two practices for maintenance. He left Washington's 4-2 win over Nashville on Feb. 5 early and still appears to be working himself back from the injury. Carlson has compiled 10 goals, 46 points, 115 shots on net and 84 blocked shots across 55 appearances this season.

Szuber was summoned from AHL Tucson on Sunday.

Utah assigned Scott Perunovich to the minors in a corresponding move. Szuber has 10 goals and 24 points in 44 AHL appearances this season.

Metsa has been recalled by the Sabres from AHL Rochester, the team announced Sunday.

Metsa is in the midst of a season in which he's spent a good chunk of time in both the NHL and the AHL. He's played 26 games with the Sabres, most of them coming in a two-month stint that ended earlier this month, and 16 with AHL Rochester. The 27-year-old has played well in the AHL, registering 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) in 16 games, earning himself another call-up to the big club.
