  • Blue Jackets' Damon Severson: Two-point effort Saturday

Severson picked up two assists in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.

The veteran blueliner helped set up tallies by Dmitri Voronkov late in the first period and Mathieu Olivier midway through the second. Severson has been on a roll of late, getting onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games and racking up a goal and eight points over that stretch. On the season, he has three goals and 17 points in 40 contests.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Two helpers in return to lineup

Werenski notched two assists in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.

The star defenseman missed the four games with a lower-body injury. Werenski wasted little time showing he was fully healthy in his return, helping to set up Denton Mateychuk for the afternoon's first tally just three minutes into the first period. Werenski then had a hand in Cole Sillinger's empty-netter in the third. Werenski has delivered 14 goals and 42 points in 36 contests this season. Only Cale Makar, with 45 points in 39 games, has been more productive among NHL blueliners.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Two points in Saturday's win

Mateychuk produced a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Sabres.

The 21-year-old netminder has gotten onto the scoresheet in five of the last six games, collecting two goals and seven points during that surge. Mateychuk has lit the lamp an impressive eight times this season in 39 games, tying him with the likes of John Carlson and Evan Bouchard for ninth in the NHL in goals among all defensemen.

  • Hurricanes' Gavin Bayreuther: Reassigned Saturday

Bayreuther was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Saturday.

Bayreuther was up as injury insurance for the Hurricanes' blue line. With fewer injury concerns over the last week, he's no longer needed with the big club and will wait for his next chance at a call-up while playing with the Wolves.

  • Sharks' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Injured again Saturday

Mukhamadullin (undisclosed) won't finish Saturday's game versus the Lightning, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Mukhamadullin battled an upper-body injury in mid-December and was also dealing with a lower-body injury that he was able to play through at the end of the month. It's unclear if this injury is related to either of the previous two. If Mukhamadullin can't play Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets, the Sharks could turn to Nick Leddy or John Klingberg (lower body) to take his place in the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Slated to play Saturday

Gostisbehere (groin) is expected to return Saturday versus Colorado, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Gostisbehere missed three straight games due to the injury. He has four goals and 29 points in 28 appearances with Carolina in 2025-26. Mike Reilly is projected to be a healthy scratch Saturday due to Gostisbehere's return.

  • Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Set to return Saturday

Matheson (upper body) is expected to play against St. Louis on Saturday, per Guillaume Lefrancois of La Presse.

Matheson has four goals, 18 points, 18 PIM, 49 shots, 23 hits and 83 blocks in 37 appearances this season. Following a one-game absence, Matheson will replace Adam Engstrom in Saturday's lineup.

  • Sabres' Michael Kesselring: Not available Saturday

Kesselring (lower body) has been ruled out of Saturday's tilt in Columbus, per Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald.

Kesselring is day-to-day and will miss at least one game. The blueliner has yet to pick up a point in 16 outings, but he does have 22 blocked shots and 14 hits this season. Look for Jacob Bryson to enter the lineup, replacing Kesselring on the third pairing.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Removed from IR

Werenski (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.

Following a four-game absence, Werenski will return to the top pairing and first power-play unit against Buffalo on Saturday. He has amassed 14 goals, 40 points, 132 shots on net and 52 blocked shots across 35 appearances this season.

  • Justin Faulk D | DET

Blues' Justin Faulk: Nets goal in close win

Faulk potted a goal, recorded a block and served two PIM in Friday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.

Faulk found the back of the net just over five minutes into the second period to give the Blues a 2-1 lead. He five goals and one assist in his last 10 appearances. After scoring just six times over the previous two seasons, he has bounced back to 11 markers through 42 games this season. The 33-year-old blueliner also offers strong category coverage with 21 points, 79 shots on goal, 35 hits and 81 blocked shots. His scoring potential and overall track record give him a high floor in fantasy, granting him starting value across most formats.
