  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Three-point outburst in win

Carlson had a goal and two assists in a 4-0 win over the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Carlson made it 4-0 in the third period when he wired a high slap shot past Dennis Hildeby from along the right boards. Carlson has seven goals, 20 assists and 65 shots in 30 games. He continues to climb the scoring list from the blue line, and he's on pace for his third 70-point season in the NHL.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: NHL leader in goals from blue line

Chychrun scored two goals Thursday in a 4-0 win over Toronto.

In the first period, Chychrun made it 2-0 when a point shot bounced off the end boards to him, and he ripped a snap shot past Dennis Hildeby from just below the right circle. His second goal came in the third when he carried the puck into the left circle and scored far side with a wrister from the dot. Chychrun has four goals in his last five games (16 shots), and he now leads all defenders with 14 goals.

  • Sabres' Conor Timmins: Slated to play

Timmins (undisclosed) is slated to be in the lineup in Thursday's game versus the Flyers, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Timmins was labeled a game-time decision due to an undisclosed injury, but he took warmups in his normal spot. The 27-year-old defenseman is expected to fill a bottom-four role for this contest, while Jacob Bryson will be a healthy scratch.

  • Alec Regula D | EDM

    Oilers' Alec Regula: Unavailable Thursday

Regula will miss Thursday's game against Boston due to an illness, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV.

Regula has two assists, 17 PIM, 14 hits and 26 blocks in 20 outings this season. Riley Stillman is set to make his Oilers debut due to Regula's absence. The 25-year-old Regula is day-to-day, so he might be an option Saturday in Minnesota.

  • Lightning's Steve Santini: Returns to AHL

Santini was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Thursday.

Santini has an assist in eight outings with Tampa Bay this season. The 30-year-old has also recorded five assists across 16 appearances with Syracuse.

  • Egor Zamula D | CLB

Flyers' Egor Zamula: Waived by team

Zamula was placed on waivers by the Flyers on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Zamula has featured in just five of Philadelphia's last 20 games, so it shouldn't come as a shock to see the team trying to move him to the minors -- assuming he clears. Even when the 25-year-old blueliner has played, he's failed to offer much in the way of productivity, generating one point, 15 blocks and nine shots.

  • Jake Bean D | CGY

Flames' Jake Bean: Ruled out indefinitely

Bean (undisclosed) will need to undergo surgery and is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports Thursday.

Bean has played in just six of the Flames' last 21 games due to his undisclosed injury and now faces an extended stint on the shelf. Even when healthy, the Calgary native has only reached the 20-point threshold once in his career and doesn't offer enough category coverage to be more than a low-end fantasy option. If the Flames need some cap relief, Bean would be a good candidate to be shifted to long-term injured reserve, especially if he is ruled out for the rest of the year.

  • Lightning's Ryan McDonagh: Taken off injured reserve

McDonagh (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve on Thursday, per the NHL media site.

McDonagh last played Nov. 8 and has missed the last 18 games. The 36-year-old veteran defenseman was off to a good start to the season before his injury, tallying three goals and six points in 15 games. He should enter the lineup Thursday, replacing Steve Santini.

  • Blackhawks' Artyom Levshunov: Returning to action Thursday

Levshunov (coach's decision) will return to the lineup in Montreal on Thursday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Levshunov was late to practice Monday, and head coach Jeff Blashill decided to discipline the defenseman by sitting him out against Toronto on Tuesday. The second pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, Levshunov has one goal, 13 assists, 30 hits, 32 blocked shots and eight assists on the power play in 2025-26.

  • Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Remains day-to-day

Matheson (upper body) has been ruled out of Thursday's tilt against Chicago, Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette reports.

Matheson also sat out Tuesday's game against Philadelphia. The defenseman has four goals and 12 assists in 32 games this season. He has lost a lot of his fantasy value since Montreal added Noah Dobson via trade in the offseason, as Matheson is averaging only 17 seconds of power-play time this season. He could return as early as Saturday against Pittsburgh.
