Joel Nystrom D | CAR
Hurricanes' Joel Nystrom: Two helpers in Monday's win
Nystrom pocketed two assists in Monday's 3-1 win over the Bruins.
It was the first multi-point performance of the rookie defenseman's career, as he had a hand in tallies by Jordan Staal in the second period and Taylor Hall in the third. Nystrom was a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, so it's remarkable he's even made it to the top level. Through his first 14 games for Carolina, he's produced three assists, 18 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating, but he'll likely return to AHL Chicago once the Hurricanes' blue line gets healthier.

John Carlson D | ANA
Capitals' John Carlson: Suiting up Monday
Carlson (upper body) is in the lineup for Monday's road matchup versus the Bruins, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.
Carlson will resume his usual role on the top pairing and No. 1 power-play unit in Boston. As a result of his return to the lineup, Declan Chisholm will be a healthy scratch. The 35-year-old Carlson has generated four goals and 14 points through 17 appearances this season.

Zayne Parekh D | CGY
Flames' Zayne Parekh: Lands on IR
Parekh (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Parekh is currently week-to-week, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see him pop up on injured reserve. Considering the blueliner has featured in just two of the Flames' last nine outings, his continued absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy managers -- especially considering he has managed a single point in 11 games when healthy.

Jeremy Lauzon D | LV
Golden Knights' Jeremy Lauzon: Dealing with undisclosed injury
Lauzon was sidelined against Minnesota on Sunday with an undisclosed injury, Golden Knights' broadcaster Dan D'Uva reports.
Lauzon was limited to just 8:02 of ice time in the previous matchup with the Blues on Saturday and was unable to play the second half of the back-to-back. With Lauzon on the shelf, the Golden Knights deployed Ben Hutton in a third-pairing role versus the Wild and will likely continue to do so until Lauzon is given the all-clear.

Thomas Chabot D | OTT
Senators' Thomas Chabot: Designated for injured reserve
Chabot (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
Chabot sustained an upper-body injury during last Tuesday's game against the Stars, and the Senators announced Thursday that the defenseman was expected to miss approximately two weeks. His move to injured reserve shouldn't impact his return timetable, but Jordan Spence should have an opportunity to step up for Ottawa while Chabot is sidelined.

Victor Mancini D | VAN
Canucks' Victor Mancini: Sent to AHL
Mancini was assigned to AHL Abbotsford on Monday.
Mancini sustained an upper-body injury against Edmonton on Oct. 26 that forced him to spend several weeks on injured reserve, but he was activated off IR on Friday. However, he didn't appear in any games for the Canucks over the weekend and should have more consistent opportunities to work on his conditioning in the minors. Over five appearances with Vancouver this year, Mancini has recorded no points, six hits, five blocked shots and five PIM while averaging 10:32 of ice time.

Maxence Guenette D | PHI
Flyers' Maxence Guenette: Flipped in minor-league deal
Guenette was traded to the Flyers from the Senators on Monday in exchange for Dennis Gilbert. Additionally, Guenette agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract.
Guenette has yet to suit up this year, as he was an unsigned restricted free agent. In the minors last year, the 2019 seventh-round pick notched nine goals and 14 helpers in 58 regular-season games. Given the time off, Guenette will likely need some time getting up to speed with AHL Lehigh Valley before being in the mix for a call-up.

Dennis Gilbert D | OTT
Senators' Dennis Gilbert: Traded to Sens
Gilbert was traded to Ottawa by Philadelphia on Monday in exchange for Maxence Guenette.
Gilbert spent part of the 2024-25 campaign with the Senators, logging four regular-season games in which he notched one assist, 11 hits and four shots after he was dealt from the Sabres at last season's trade deadline. Even with the move to a new organization, the 29-year-old blueliner will likely start in the minors with AHL Belleville.

Filip Hronek D | VAN
Canucks' Filip Hronek: Two helpers in Sunday's win
Hronek logged two assists and three hits in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Lightning.
Hronek exited Friday's game versus the Hurricanes after taking a high hit, but he ended up avoiding a concussion. He was back in his usual top-four role Sunday and delivered his second multi-point effort of the year. The defenseman is at 11 assists, 42 hits, 30 blocked shots, 21 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 20 appearances.

Marcus Pettersson D | VAN
Canucks' Marcus Pettersson: Fills empty cage
Pettersson scored an empty-net goal and blocked two shots in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Lightning.
Pettersson ended a five-game point drought with the tally. He skated 30:23 on Friday versus the Hurricanes when Quinn Hughes was out of action due to an upper-body injury, but Pettersson was back to a more reasonable 21:16 of ice time Sunday. The 29-year-old Pettersson has four points, 14 shots on net, 12 hits, 37 blocks, 21 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 20 appearances this season as one of the few Canucks to avoid the injury bug so far.
