  • Maple Leafs' Philippe Myers: Gets rare goal

Myers scored a goal in a 4-3 overtime win over the Red Wings on Thursday.

It was Myers' second goal of the season in his 36th game. He took a cross-ice pass at the top of the right circle and danced around multiple opponents before wiring the puck between Cam Talbot's pads from the bottom of the circle. Myers looked like a real goal-scorer, but he will be hard-pressed to see regular ice time in the postseason. He logged two goals, three assists, 76 hits and 42 blocks during the regular season.

  • Penguins' Matt Grzelcyk: Picks up pair of assists

Grzelcyk notched two assists, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Capitals.

Grzelcyk had four assists over the last three contests. The 31-year-old defenseman was quite successful on offense in his first year with the Penguins, earning a career-high 40 points (one goal, 39 assists) while playing in all 82 games for the first time. He added 94 shots on net, 101 blocked shots, 43 hits and a minus-6 rating. Grzelcyk played on a one-year contract this season, and his career year should generate quite a market if he gets to free agency.

  • Sabres' Jacob Bernard-Docker: Registers assist Thursday

Bernard-Docker logged an assist, four shots on goal, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Flyers.

The helper ended an 11-game point drought for Bernard-Docker. The 24-year-old defenseman lost a large chunk of his season to an ankle injury, which limited him to 40 games between the Sabres and the Senators. He picked up eight points, 32 shots on net, 30 hits, 50 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating. A first-round pick back in 2018, Bernard-Docker is running out of developmental runway -- it's quite possible his peak is that of a bottom-four defenseman who adds little on offense.

  • Sabres' Connor Clifton: Slings shorthanded helper

Clifton recorded a shorthanded assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Flyers.

Clifton had two points over the final three games of the season. The 29-year-old defenseman was able to accumulate 16 points, including three shorthanded assists, over 73 appearances this season. He added 63 shots on net, 208 hits, 116 blocked shots, 45 PIM and a minus-6 rating. Clifton is under contract for 2025-26 and can be expected to fill a bottom-four role with the Sabres.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Joining AHL playoff run

Mateychuk will be reassigned to AHL Cleveland following Thursday's 6-1 win over the Islanders, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

This spring's playoff run is likely to be Mateychuk's last taste of AHL action. The 20-year-old defenseman played every NHL game between Jan. 25 and the end of the season. He totaled 13 points in 45 outings as a rookie. While there's still room for him to grow, he's one of the top defensive prospects in the league, and he'll likely be in a top-four role with the Blue Jackets in 2025-26.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Back in lineup Thursday

Doughty (rest) is set to draw back into the lineup for Thursday's clash against Calgary, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

Doughty took Tuesday's 6-5 win over Seattle off so that he could stay rested for the playoffs. He has four goals and 17 points in 29 appearances in 2024-25. Doughty is projected to play alongside Mikey Anderson versus the Flames.

  • Kings' Mikey Anderson: Set to play

Anderson (rest) is expected to be in the lineup Thursday versus the Flames, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Anderson rested for Tuesday's game versus the Kraken, but he'll check in for the regular-season finale against a Flames team that is utilizing a number of young players. Anderson will match his career high in games played with his 77th appearance of 2024-25.

  • Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Missing season finale

Christiansen (upper body) won't play in Thursday's game versus the Islanders, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.

Christiansen will be out for the fourth straight game to end the season. The 25-year-old occasionally was a scratch this year as well, though he managed to play in 68 games. He earned eight points, 58 shots on net, 50 hits and 65 blocked shots. Christiansen signed a two-year contract in January to stay with Columbus, so he'll be part of the plans on defense for a while longer.

  • Red Wings' Erik Gustafsson: Ends season injured

Gustafsson (undisclosed) won't play in the Red Wings' regular-season finale versus the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Gustafsson ended up missing 14 games to close out the season. The 33-year-old defenseman is under contract for 2025-26 and should slot back into a bottom-four role with the Red Wings once he's healthy again. His injury was described as a long-term issue when it occurred, so his status for training camp is currently uncertain.

  • Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Not in lineup Thursday

Fehervary (rest) will miss Washington's regular-season finale against Pittsburgh on Thursday, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.

The Capitals are dressing just five defensemen along with 13 forwards, but they should shift back to the usual six blueliners for Game 1 of their first-round series against Montreal on Monday. Fehervary is concluding the regular season with five goals, 25 points, 139 hits and 150 blocks across 81 appearances.
