  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Not playing again Tuesday

Carlson (rest) won't be in the lineup against the Islanders on Tuesday, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.

Carlson will miss his second straight game for maintenance purposes, and his availability for Thursday's regular-season finale versus Pittsburgh is unclear. He has compiled five goals, 51 points, 167 shots on net and 131 blocked shots through 79 appearances this season.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Out of lineup Tuesday

Chychrun is not in the lineup versus the Islanders on Tuesday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

No reason was provided for Chychrun's absence, but it's safe to assume this is a rest situation for the 27-year-old defenseman, as he played 20:46 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. Alexander Alexeyev and Dylan McIlrath will both be in the lineup while Chychrun and John Carlson sit this one out. It's unclear if Chychrun will be an option for Thursday's regular-season finale versus the Penguins.

  • Hurricanes' Riley Stillman: Joins NHL club

Stillman was brought up from AHL Chicago on Tuesday.

Stillman has appeared in three NHL games this season, posting one shot on goal and four hits. He has three goals and six assists in 35 AHL outings this campaign. Stillman will probably play in at least one of Carolina's final two games of the regular season because the team will rest some players before the beginning of the playoffs.

  • Caleb Jones D | PIT

Kings' Caleb Jones: Elevated from minors

Jones was promoted from AHL Ontario on Tuesday under emergency conditions.

Jones has logged just five NHL games this year, with his most recent outing coming back on Nov. 13 against the Avalanche. The decision to elevate Jones to the NHL roster could be an indication that there will be another absence on the Kings' blue line beyond just Joel Edmundson (upper body), though nothing has been officially announced by the team yet.

  • Predators' Marc Del Gaizo: Lands on waivers

Del Gaizo was waived by the Predators on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Del Gaizo's placement on waivers will allow him to be moved down to the minors ahead of the Calder Cup Playoffs. He could still suit up against the Stars on Wednesday, depending on the health of Andreas Englund (illness). Overall, Del Gaizo has generated two goals and seven helpers in 45 appearances.

  • Sharks' Luca Cagnoni: Sent to AHL

Cagnoni was assigned to AHL San Jose on Tuesday.

Cagnoni has two assists, seven shots on goal and nine blocked shots in six NHL outings this season. If Jan Rutta (lower body) and Jack Thompson (upper body) are unavailable for Wednesday's regular-season finale against Edmonton, Cagnoni could return to the Sharks.

  • Golden Knights' Alex Pietrangelo: Won't suit up in Calgary

Pietrangelo (undisclosed) will not be available for Tuesday's road contest against the Flames, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Pietrangelo has missed four consecutive games and seven of the last 10. He'll have one more opportunity to suit up in the regular season in the second half of a back-to-back against the Canucks on Wednesday. Kaedan Korczak will continue to operate in a third-pairing role until Pietrangelo is ready to return to the lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Noah Hanifin: Resting Tuesday

Hanifin (rest) will not be in the lineup Tuesday against the Flames, per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Hanifin is one of a few key players the Golden Knights are choosing to rest against the Flames, who are fighting for a wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Tuesday is the first half of a back-to-back set for Vegas, so it's possible Hanifin gets back in the lineup for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Canucks.

  • Kings' Vladislav Gavrikov: Tickles twine in Monday's win

Gavrikov scored a goal and added two PIM in Monday's 5-0 win over the Oilers.

Gavrikov had gone 16 games without a goal, adding four assists, a plus-11 rating, 23 shots on net and 18 blocked shots in that span. The 29-year-old shutdown blueliner remains firmly in a top-four role for the Kings. He's at five goals, 28 points, 108 shots, 137 blocks, 48 hits, 28 PIM and a plus-24 rating over 80 appearances in one of the better years of his career.

  • Sharks' Luca Cagnoni: Pockets power-play assist

Cagnoni notched a power-play assist and four PIM in Monday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Cagnoni is getting a second stint at the NHL level late in the season as the Sharks deal with numerous injuries on defense. His helper Monday was his first power-play point in six appearances for the Sharks. He's added seven shots on net, nine blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-4 rating. Cagnoni will likely be in competition for an NHL job in training camp in the fall.
