  • Sam Malinski D | COL

Avalanche's Sam Malinski: Puts up assist Sunday

Malinski logged an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

Malinski again led the Avalanche with 25:15 of ice time. He's played well in a larger role over the last two games, earning a goal and an assist in that span, but he'll likely be back in the bottom four to begin the playoffs, as Cale Makar and Devon Toews will be back from their time off. Malinski finishes the regular season with 15 points, 115 shots on net, 107 blocked shots, 57 hits and a plus-8 rating across 76 outings. He should be favored to stay in the lineup over Erik Johnson during the postseason.

  • Wyatt Aamodt D | COL

Avalanche's Wyatt Aamodt: Scores in second NHL game

Aamodt scored a goal, added four hits and blocked four shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

Aamodt sparked the Avalanche's third-period comeback, getting them on the board at 10:05 of the third period. The 27-year-old made his NHL debut versus the Kings on Saturday, earning the opportunity as a fill-in while the Avalanche navigate injuries on the blue line. Aamodt is likely to be back with AHL Colorado shortly now that the Avalanche's regular season is over, but he'll likely come back up as a depth option if the Eagles exit early in the AHL playoffs.

  • Erik Johnson D | COL

Avalanche's Erik Johnson: Finishes comeback with empty-netter

Johnson scored an empty-net goal, added two PIM and logged two hits in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.

Johnson has two points over his last six games as he continues to see steady ice time while the Avalanche deal with injuries and give some of their top players rest. Johnson finishes the regular season with two goals, five points, 37 shots on net, 59 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 36 appearances between the Avalanche and the Flyers. If Colorado's defense is fully healthy to begin the postseason, Johnson may find himself back in the press box, but he's likely to be the first man up should injuries keep anyone out.

  • Sharks' Lucas Carlsson: Manages assist Sunday

Carlsson provided an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.

The assist ended an eight-game point drought for Carlsson. The 27-year-old has gotten a chance to play with the big club and even see some power-play time as injuries continue to pile up among the Sharks' defensemen. Over 11 appearances in the NHL this season, Carlsson has four points, 14 shots on net, 14 PIM, 12 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating.

  • Jan Rutta D | SJ

Sharks' Jan Rutta: Knocks in goal

Rutta scored a goal on two shots, added three hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.

This was Rutta's second game back after he missed 27 contests due to a lower-body injury. He cashed in on a rebound of a Tyler Toffoli shot that deflected off William Eklund. With other injuries piling up on the Sharks' blue line, Rutta is likely to close out the year in the lineup. He's at three goals, nine points, 54 shots on net, 40 hits, 80 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 53 appearances this season.

  • Jake Bean D | CGY

Flames' Jake Bean: Still lacking offense late in year

Bean was held off the scoresheet for the 27th consecutive game in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.

Bean was scratched three times in that span, but he's otherwise been a regular on the Flames' third pairing. His ice time is fairly limited, and so is his offense, as he's mustered just seven points across 63 outings this season. He's added 70 shots on net, 43 blocked shots, 22 hits and an even plus-minus rating. Bean is likely to stay in the lineup to close out 2024-25, but he could be pushed for playing time next year if the Flames opt to integrate some prospects into the mix.

  • Flames' Brayden Pachal: Offers helper in win

Pachal logged an assist, three hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.

Pachal ended a seven-game point drought with his helper on Yegor Sharangovich's game-winning tally in the third period. The 25-year-old Pachal has regained a steady role on the third pairing, leaving Daniil Miromanov out of the lineup. Pachal is at 10 points, 59 shots on net, 88 PIM, 79 blocked shots, 156 hits and a plus-4 rating over 74 appearances this season.

  • Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Sets up empty-netter

Andersson logged an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.

Andersson set up Yegor Sharangovich's empty-netter to seal this critical win that keeps the Flames in a viable spot in the playoff race. The helper ended a four-game slide for Andersson, who went minus-5 in that stretch. Andersson's had a tough year with defensive assignments, and he hasn't made up for it with offense. He's at 31 points, a minus-37 rating, 162 shots on net, 194 blocked shots and 60 PIM over 80 appearances.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Buries goal Sunday

Weegar scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.

Weegar has a goal and four assists over his last eight outings. It's not the same as his strong pace over the first half of March, but the 31-year-old blueliner remains consistent as one of the Flames' most important players. He's up to eight goals, 46 points (20 on the power play), 179 shots on net, 222 hits, 185 blocked shots and a plus-19 rating over 79 appearances.

  • Jets' Ville Heinola: Sees rare playing time

Heinola went minus-1 with a hit, a blocked shot and one shot on goal in 17:52 of ice time in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Oilers.

Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk and Luke Schenn were all out of the lineup, giving Heinola a rare chance to play as the Jets prepare for the postseason. This was Heinola's 18th outing this season -- while that is a career high, he has just one assist with 12 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, eight hits and a plus-6 rating. The 24-year-old has played just twice since the start of February and will likely be back in the press box as a healthy scratch for the majority of the playoffs.
