  • Oilers' John Klingberg: Out again versus St. Louis

Klingberg (lower body) will not be available against the Blues on Wednesday, Tom Gazzola of Edmonton Sports Talk reports.

Klingberg has played in just one of Edmonton's last 16 contests, so he is probably not even a lock to play once given the all-clear -- especially if Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed) is back in the lineup. At this point, given his lingering injury woes, it wouldn't be a shock to see Klingberg hang up the skates after the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Still sidelined Wednesday

Ekholm (undisclosed) will remain on the shelf ahead of Wednesday's clash with the Blues, Tom Gazzola of Edmonton Sports Talk reports.

While Ekholm won't be ready for Wednesday's matchup, head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters he expects all of the Oilers' injured players back before the postseason starts. It's been a tough end of the season for Ekholm, who has missed 12 of the team's last 16 outings -- though he was rolling offensively in limited action with six points in those four appearances. Ty Emberson figures to see an increased role while Ekholm remains out of action.

  • Andrew Peeke D | BOS

Bruins' Andrew Peeke: Manages helper in win

Peeke logged an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Devils.

Peeke snapped a 10-game point drought when he helped out on Fraser Minten's first goal as a Bruin during a third-period rally. The 27-year-old Peeke has had a career year in 2024-25, earning 17 points over 73 appearances. He's added 78 shots on net, 98 hits, 120 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating while often filling in higher up the lineup due to the absences of Hampus Lindholm (kneecap) and Charlie McAvoy (shoulder).

  • Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon: Notches assist Tuesday

Wotherspoon registered an assist in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Devils.

This helper ended a nine-game skid for Wotherspoon, who added 10 hits, nine blocked shots, seven shots on net and a minus-5 rating in that span. The 27-year-old defenseman has played regularly in the absences of Hampus Lindholm (kneecap) and Charlie McAvoy (shoulder). Wotherspoon is up to seven points, 41 shots on net, 67 hits, 63 blocks and a minus-10 rating across 52 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Vincent Desharnais: Unavailable against Minnesota

Desharnais (upper body) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Wild, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Desharnais will miss a seventh consecutive game due to his upper-body injury, but he's been practicing recently and is with the Sharks on their current road trip, so he may be close to returning. His next opportunity to suit up will be Friday against Edmonton.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Provides helper Tuesday

Carrier logged an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

Carrier ended an eight-game point drought with the helper. It had been a rough stretch for both Carrier and Mike Matheson lately, as they've essentially been the Canadiens' shutdown pairing while Lane Hutson flourishes on offense alongside Kaiden Guhle. Carrier is up to 24 points, 80 shots on net, 75 hits, 159 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 75 outings between the Canadiens and the Predators.

  • Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Sets up equalizer

Matheson recorded an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

Matheson ended a 13-game point drought with the helper, which set up Cole Caufield's game-tying tally in the second period. During the slump, Matheson still had 23 shots on net, 35 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. He's often been leaned on for his defense this season, but he managed to reach the 30-point mark for the fourth straight year while adding 145 shots on net, 162 blocks, 58 hits, 49 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 76 outings.

  • Bruins' Nikita Zadorov: Status uncertain for Thursday

Interim head coach Joe Sacco said Wednesday that Zadorov is dealing with a family matter, and his status for Thursday's game against Chicago is uncertain, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.

Zadorov has recorded points in two of his last three appearances, but the Bruins won't know until Thursday whether he'll be able to suit up against the Blackhawks. If the 29-year-old is unavailable Thursday, Ian Mitchell will likely enter the lineup for the Bruins.

  • Neal Pionk D | WPG

Jets' Neal Pionk: Deemed game-time call for Thursday

Pionk (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against Dallas, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Head coach Scott Arniel said Monday that Pionk is "really close" to returning to game action, and the 29-year-old worked on the second defensive pairing during Wednesday's practice session while also seeing some time with the second power-play unit. The Jets want to see how Pionk fares ahead of Thursday's puck drop, but he seems to be trending in the right direction.

  • Rangers' K'Andre Miller: Game-time decision versus Flyers

Miller (illness) will be a game-time call for Wednesday's matchup with Philadelphia, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.

Miller participated in the team's morning skate but hasn't been confirmed back into the lineup Wednesday. Prior to getting sick, the 25-year-old blueliner was rolling offensively with five points in his last six contests in addition to recording 13 hits and eight blocks. If Miller is given the all-clear, he will likely relegate Zac Jones back to a spot in the press box as a healthy scratch.
