  • John Marino D | UTA

Hockey Club's John Marino: Deals pair of helpers

Marino logged two assists and two shots on goal in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.

Marino earned his first multi-point effort of the campaign by assisting on goals by Nick Schmaltz and Kevin Stenlund in this contest. Through six outings in March, Marino has picked up three points. The veteran defenseman is up to nine points, 22 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 24 appearances in a top-four role this season.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Matches career high in goals

Montour scored a goal on two shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 4-2 win over Utah.

Montour has matched his career high in goals (16), and he's surged to get there with six tallies over seven outings in March. He's also picked up three assists this month. The 30-year-old defenseman has occasionally looked like the Kraken's top blueliner this season, and this is one of his best stretches. Overall, he's at 37 points, 192 shots on net, 79 blocked shots, 70 hits and a minus-12 rating through 66 appearances, four points better than what he did in the same number of games in the 2023-24 regular season with the Panthers.

  • Predators' Andreas Englund: First scratch with new team

Englund was scratched for Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.

Englund had played in 10 straight games for the Predators after he was plucked off waivers from the Kings. Part of that was due to the Predators needing to dress seven blueliners while having only 11 healthy forwards on the roster, and that changed with Michael Bunting (abdomen) coming off injured reserve Friday. For now, Englund will likely be in competition with fellow waiver claim Jordan Oesterle for the last spot on the blue line, though the defensively shoddy Justin Barron could also be at risk of a scratch in the last few weeks of the season. Englund has just one goal, no assists, 11 shots on net, 36 PIM, 43 hits and 23 blocked shots over 21 appearances this season, and it seems likely he'll get back in the lineup against his former team Saturday.

  • Brady Skjei D | NSH

Predators' Brady Skjei: Bags power-play assist in loss

Skjei logged a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.

Skjei set up Jakub Vrana's first goal for Nashville at 4:25 of the third period. With three points, including two power-play helpers, over the last four games, Skjei is in a bit of a groove while handling a workhorse role on the first pairing for the Predators. The veteran defenseman is up to 24 points, 124 shots on net, 66 blocked shots, 45 hits and a minus-11 rating through 65 contests.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Gets into lineup Friday

Miromanov played on the third pairing and went minus-1 with one shot on goal in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Playing time has been hard to come by for Miromanov in recent weeks. Since the start of January, he's appeared in just nine of 28 contests, picking up a single assist with 10 blocked shots, seven hits, 10 shots on net and a plus-1 rating. He bumped Brayden Pachal from the lineup Friday, but Miromanov is not guaranteed to stay in for the Flames' upcoming four-game road trip that begins in Toronto on Monday. Given the volatility of his playing time, Miromanov is not a strong option for fantasy.

  • Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Helpers in consecutive contests

Andersson logged a power-play assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Andersson took a shot attempt that caromed off Jonathan Huberdeau and into the net for the Flames' second goal. This was Andersson's second helper in as many games as he tries to get back on track following a span of nine scoreless outings. The 28-year-old blueliner has 23 points (eight on the power play), 125 shots on net, 159 blocked shots, 50 PIM and a minus-24 rating through 65 appearances in what's been a challenging season on many levels.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Generates helper in loss

Weegar notched an assist, two shots on goal, five hits and four blocked shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Weegar continued his strong run of offense -- he has a goal and six assists over his last six outings after helping out on a Blake Coleman tally. The 31-year-old Weegar is up to 39 points (seven goals, 32 assists), 146 shots on net, 178 hits, 146 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 65 appearances. With ample category coverage, Weegar has been the Flames' top defenseman in fantasy this season.

  • Avalanche's Samuel Girard: Sets up empty-netter

Girard produced an assist in Friday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Girard obtained the puck and set up Valeri Nichushkin on the Avalanche's empty-netter to close out the scoring. The 26-year-old Girard picked up some slack Friday when Josh Manson (upper body) left the contest, and he'd likely have the most ice time to gain if Manson misses additional time. This was Girard's second straight game with a helper after an 11-game point drought. He's at 22 points, 79 shots on net, 89 blocked shots, 52 hits and a plus-7 rating over 64 appearances.

  • Avalanche's Ryan Lindgren: Nets goal in Friday's win

Lindgren scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM, logged two hits, blocked three shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Lindgren had a strong all-around effort in the contest. The 27-year-old could also see more minutes moving forward after Josh Manson (upper body) left the contest after two periods. Lindgren has two points over his last four outings and is up to 21 points, 50 shots on net, 62 hits, 111 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 60 appearances between the Rangers and the Avalanche this season. He'll continue to fill a shutdown role in Colorado's top four.

  • Josh Manson D | COL

Avalanche's Josh Manson: Leaves Friday's game

Manson (upper body) won't return to Friday's game versus the Flames, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.

Manson was partially able to play through the injury in the second period, but didn't take the ice in the third. The 33-year-old defenseman might miss Sunday's game versus the Stars. If that happens, Sam Malinski would likely rejoin the lineup after being scratched Friday.
