  • Devon Toews D | COL

    Avalanche's Devon Toews: Provides helper

Toews notched an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Toews has been a little quiet since his Jan. 14 goal, adding just four assists over 11 contests since then. The 30-year-old defenseman helped out on Cale Makar's game-tying goal in the second period. Toews continues to log steady top-pairing minutes and has 25 points, 99 shots on net, 69 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating over 52 appearances. He's unlikely to match last year's 12-goal, 50-point effort over 82 regular-season contests, but he rarely hurts fantasy managers who choose to play him.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

    Avalanche's Cale Makar: Secures 20-goal, 60-point campaign

Makar scored a goal on eight shots, dished a power-play assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Flames.

Makar's tally early in the second period tied the game at 1-1. He also helped out on Martin Necas' goal late in that frame. Makar has reached the 20-goal mark for the third time in the last four seasons, and he's also secured his fourth straight 60-point season. He's collected 169 shots on net, 89 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating. Makar would need to pick up the pace a little bit to match his 90-point 2023-24 regular season.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Two-point night in win

Chychrun scored a goal and added an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win against Philadelphia.

Chychrun scored the winner at 12:05 of the third period on a snap shot from the left face-off circle. It was his 14th of the season which moves him into a tie with Quinn Hughes (lower body) for third overall for NHL defenders. The goal was Chychrun's first in eight games. That's the longest goal drought for the hard-shooting defender this season, but it shouldn't come as a surprise. Some regression was expected for Chychrun, who has been scoring at a 12.7 percent success rate, -- that's significantly higher than his career 7.3 percent. Still, he's a solid fantasy play. His 34 points (49 games) put him in the top 15 in the NHL.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Not playing Thursday

Ristolainen (upper body) won't play Thursday versus the Capitals, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Ristolainen will miss a second game due to the injury. He was deemed a game-time decision for Thursday, so it's possible he could be cleared to suit up Saturday against the Penguins.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Set to return Thursday

Werenski (undisclosed) is expected to play Thursday against Utah, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.

Jack Johnson is set to be a healthy scratch as a result of Werenski's return. The 27-year-old Werenski has 17 goals and 57 points over 53 appearances in 2024-25. He missed Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Buffalo due to the injury.

  • Stars' Ilya Lyubushkin: Game-time call Friday

Lyubushkin's (undisclosed) status against the Kings on Friday will be determined following the morning skate, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.

Lyubushkin logged just 10:47 of ice time against the Ducks on Tuesday before being forced to exit the contest due to his undisclosed injury. Considering the defenseman has yet to find the back of the net this season and recorded just two shots in his last five games, fantasy managers probably shouldn't be banking on him suddenly offering offensive upside.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Might be available for Saturday

Hughes (lower body) has already been ruled out for Thursday's tilt against San Jose, but he might play Saturday versus Toronto, per Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet.

Hughes will miss his fourth consecutive game Thursday. The 25-year-old defenseman has 14 goals and 59 points over 47 outings in 2024-25. If Hughes does play Saturday, he will likely resume his regular duties on the top pairing and first power-play unit.

  • Islanders' Scott Mayfield: Placed on injured reserve

Mayfield (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL media site.

The Islanders announced Thursday that Mayfield wouldn't travel for the team's upcoming road trip, so it isn't very surprising to see him land on injured reserve ahead of the league's break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 32-year-old will have several weeks to recover before the Islanders take on the Stars on Feb. 23.

  • Ryker Evans D | SEA

Kraken's Ryker Evans: Out of action Thursday

Evans (upper body) will remain out of the lineup versus Toronto on Thursday, according to Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network.

Evans will miss his fourth straight game and is considered day-to-day at this time. He has only two assists over his last nine games, giving the 23-year-old defenseman five goals and 21 points across 50 games this season. Cale Fleury will remain in the lineup in Evans' absence.

  • Josh Manson D | COL

Avalanche's Josh Manson: Out two games

Manson (lower body) will miss the next two games, Salim Nadim Valji of TSN reports Thursday.

Manson was injured against the Canucks on Tuesday and will be out of action until the Avalanche return after the 4 Nations Face-Off break Feb. 22 in Nashville. Manson has one goal, 12 assists, 94 hits and 54 blocked shots in 43 contests this season.
