  • Ducks' Drew Helleson: Records helper in Saturday's win

Helleson logged an assist, two shots on goal and four hits in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Helleson has a helper in back-to-back games after sitting out four of the previous five contests. That's a good way for him to try to claim a larger role in the lineup, though he's likely to remain confined to third-pairing minutes. Helleson is at seven points, 25 shots on net, 25 PIM, 29 blocked shots and 36 hits over 23 appearances. As long as he plays well, he should be able to fend off any challenges from Olen Zellweger for the last spot in the Ducks' lineup.

  • Ducks' Brian Dumoulin: Assists in consecutive contests

Dumoulin notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Dumoulin helped out on a Trevor Zegras tally in the second period. The 33-year-old Dumoulin has an assist in each of the last two games and four of his last seven contests. The defenseman isn't a big scorer, but he's contributed 12 helpers, 47 shots on net and a minus-4 rating while adding 51 hits and 81 blocked shots through 49 appearances. He's been a defensive fixture in the Ducks' lineup in his first season with the team.

  • Radko Gudas D | ANA

Ducks' Radko Gudas: Lends helper in win

Gudas posted an assist, four hits and six blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

This was Gudas' second helper over the last three games. He had a shot attempt that generated a second chance for Jansen Harkins to score on in the second period. Gudas doesn't add a lot of offense, but he's at 12 points through 49 contests this season. The 34-year-old has racked up 160 hits, 115 blocks, 60 PIM, 61 shots on net and a minus-3 rating while filling a top-four role.

  • Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Generates power-play assist

LaCombe posted a power-play assist, three shots on goal and four blocked shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

LaCombe helped out on the second of Mason McTavish's tallies in the win. The assist ended a five-game point drought for LaCombe. That matches his longest slump of the season -- he's gone five games without a point on three separate occasions. The 24-year-old defenseman is still prone to ups and downs as a young player on a team that doesn't always score consistently. He's done a lot well in 2024-25, with eight goals, 13 assists, 87 shots on net, 73 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 42 appearances.

  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Opens scoring in win

Mintyukov scored a goal, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Mintyukov has three points over his last 10 outings. The 21-year-old defenseman hasn't been scratched in that time, but he could lose time to Olen Zellweger at some point later in the campaign. Mintyukov is at four goals, seven assists, 49 shots on net, 48 hits, 63 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 41 appearances.

  • Sharks' Mario Ferraro: Draws helper Saturday

Ferraro recorded an assist and fired three shots on goal in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Panthers.

Ferraro has three points over his last two contests. The 26-year-old defenseman has occupied a top-four role all season, so it's not surprising that he occasionally chips in offensively despite primarily serving in a shutdown capacity. Ferraro has 11 points, 54 shots on net, 115 hits, 71 blocked shots, 30 PIM and a minus-22 rating through 52 appearances. His limited offense and poor plus-minus may make it difficult to roster him despite his strong physical play.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Sharks' Jake Walman: Supplies helper in loss

Walman notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and four blocked shots in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Panthers.

Walman had an attempt redirected by Cody Ceci in the first period. With three points over his last eight games, Walman's scoring pace has slowed following his return from a lower-body injury earlier in the month. The defenseman is at 28 points, 102 shots on net, 66 blocked shots, 35 hits, 24 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 39 appearances. Despite the offensive downturn, Walman remains in a top-pairing role with a spot on the first power-play unit.

  • Cody Ceci D | LA

Sharks' Cody Ceci: Nets goal Saturday

Ceci scored a goal in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Panthers.

Ceci got to the front of the net and redirected in an attempt by Jake Walman. With two goals and three assists over 12 outings in January, Ceci has done fairly well for a blueliner on a low-scoring team. The 31-year-old is up to a total of 15 points, 59 shots on net, 95 blocked shots, 51 hits and a minus-8 rating through 52 contests this season.

  • Niko Mikkola D | FLA

Panthers' Niko Mikkola: Two helpers in last three games

Mikkola notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Mikkola also managed to go minus-1 in a game where the Panthers had six even-strength tallies. The helper was his second over the last three games, but that follows a stretch of nine contests off the scoresheet sandwiched around a five-game absence due to an upper-body injury. The Finnish blueliner remains in a top-four role and is one point shy of matching his career-best total of 17 from 2023-24. He has four goals, 12 assists, 70 shots on net, 73 hits, 62 blocked shots, 30 PIM and a plus-7 rating through 45 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Nate Schmidt D | UTA

Panthers' Nate Schmidt: Tallies in Saturday's win

Schmidt scored a goal on three shots and went plus-3 in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

He opened the scoring at 5:47 of the first period. Schmidt was held off the scoresheet in December, but he's logged three points and a plus-6 rating over 12 contests in January to help him maintain a spot in the lineup. He's up to four goals, seven assists, 38 shots on net, 51 hits, 34 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 48 appearances. Adam Boqvist and Tobias Bjornfot were healthy scratches Saturday, but it doesn't look like either will challenge Schmidt's third-pairing role.
