  • Devils' Johnny Kovacevic: Records helper in overtime loss

Kovacevic notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.

Kovacevic remains more of a shutdown defenseman, but he has three helpers over 10 outings since the holiday break. The 27-year-old blueliner is up to 13 points through 47 contests, matching his production from 62 games last season. He's added 44 shots on net, 58 hits, 62 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a plus-14 rating in 2024-25 while playing in a top-four role.

  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Puts up helper in overtime win

Tanev logged an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Devils.

Tanev snapped a four-game point drought with the helper. The 35-year-old defenseman has four assists over his last nine outings, a rare run of decent offense. He remains in a top-four role with 14 points, 23 shots on net, 123 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating over 45 appearances. He has a chance to top the 20-point mark for the first time since 2021-22.

  • Canadiens' Jayden Struble: Remains in part-time role

Struble was scratched for the third game in a row in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Stars.

Struble played in the first four games of January, racking up 12 hits and six PIM in a third-pairing role while filling in for David Savard while he battled an upper-body injury. Struble could still push Arber Xhekaj for a spot in the lineup, but neither blueliner offers much outside of physicality. For the season, Struble has five points, 53 hits, 25 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 26 appearances.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Garners assist Thursday

Hronek posted an assist in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Kings.

This was Hronek's second game back from a lower-body injury that required surgery. The 27-year-old defenseman hasn't exactly been eased back in, logging over 20 minutes in both contests since his return. He's now at 10 points, 25 shots on net, 40 hits, 23 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating through 23 appearances. At his best, Hronek provides category coverage while filling a top-pairing spot as well as a role on the second power-play unit.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Deposits lone goal in loss

Hughes scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Kings.

Hughes got the Canucks on the board at 14:52 of the second period, though the Kings answered with a goal just over a minute later. The defenseman continues to roll with two goals and four assists over six contests since he returned from an undisclosed injury. He's now at 10 goals, 48 points, 118 shots on net, 40 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 40 appearances.

  • Kings' Joel Edmundson: Bags apple Thursday

Edmundson notched an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

The helper ended a six-game point drought for Edmundson. The 31-year-old dealt with an upper-body injury last weekend, but he's been fine over two games since he returned, logging his usual top-four minutes. The blueliner has 11 points, 47 shots on net, 61 hits, 58 blocked shots and a plus-15 rating through 38 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Mikey Anderson: Lends helper in win

Anderson notched an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Anderson has four points over six outings in January, bucking the trend of the Kings' low-scoring offense this month. The 25-year-old defenseman helped out on the second of Alex Turcotte's tallies in this contest. Anderson is up to 14 points, 51 shots on net, 71 blocked shots, 63 hits and a plus-12 rating through 42 appearances. He's reached the 20-point mark just once in his career, but it's very much in play for Anderson in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Brandt Clarke: Reaches 20-assist mark

Clarke logged an assist, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Clarke's offense has dipped with the rest of the Kings' scoring in January -- he has just two assists over six games this month after finishing December with five assists over seven contests. The defenseman is up to three goals, 20 helpers, 82 shots on net, 75 blocked shots, 30 PIM and a plus-12 rating through 42 outings overall. Clarke continues to see steady power-play time and remains in a bottom-four role at even strength.

  • Avalanche's Calvin de Haan: Generates assist in loss

De Haan provided an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers.

The helper ended an 11-game point drought for de Haan. The 33-year-old looks to have overtaken Sam Malinski for a spot in the lineup, though the bottom pairing of the Avalanche's defense could be in flux on a game-to-game basis depending on performance. For the season, de Haan has seven assists, 38 shots on net, 47 hits, 50 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 35 appearances.

  • Devon Toews D | COL

Avalanche's Devon Toews: Helpers in consecutive contests

Toews recorded an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers.

Toews has a helper in back-to-back games after going three contests without a point. The top-pairing defenseman is up to 22 points, 77 shots on net, 54 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating over 42 appearances. He's earned five goals and four assists over his last nine outings. Toews' earlier slumps may have made him available in some fantasy formats -- check the waiver wire.
