    DeSmith will patrol the visiting crease in Utah on Saturday, according to Mike Heika of the Stars' official site.

    DeSmith is 10-4-5 with a 2.39 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 20 contests this season. This could be a career year for the 34-year-old netminder, who has won 15 games twice in his eight-year career. The Mammoth are tied for 14th in league scoring, averaging 3.17 goals per game.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Starting in Detroit

    Blackwood will defend the road net against the Red Wings on Saturday.

    Blackwood has lost three of his last four outings while allowing 15 goals on 101 shots. He has a 14-4-1 record with a 2.44 GAA, a .909 save percentage and two shutouts in 19 appearances this season. Detroit ranks 18th in the league with 3.07 goals per game this campaign.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Not starting Saturday

    Contrary to an earlier report, Wedgewood will not start in Detroit on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

    Mackenzie Blackwood will get the start instead of Wedgewood. Wedgewood is expected to get one start next week, as the Avalanche play a pair of home games against the Red Wings on Monday and Sharks on Wednesday.

    Wedgewood will defend the visiting blue paint in Detroit on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

    Wedgewood struggled Thursday in Montreal, allowing seven goals on 28 shots in a 7-3 defeat. He has been outstanding between the pipes this season, posting a 20-4-5 record with a 2.30 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 31 outings. The Red Wings are producing 3.07 goals per game, 18th in the league this season.

Montreal ranks fourth in the league with 3.43 goals per game this season.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: In goal Saturday

    Binnington will protect the home net against Columbus on Saturday, according to Lou Korac of The Hockey News.

    Binnington has allowed 22 goals on 130 shots during his five-game losing skid. He has gone 8-15-6 this campaign with a 3.59 GAA, an .867 save percentage and one shutout in 30 appearances. Columbus sits 19th in the league with 3.06 goals per game this season.

    Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Tending twine Saturday

    Dobes will be between the road pipes in Buffalo on Saturday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

    Dobes has won his last five games after turning aside 26 shots in a 7-3 victory over Colorado on Thursday. The 24-year-old netminder is 17-5-3 with a 2.96 GAA and an .890 save percentage across 25 appearances this season. The Sabres have been firing on all cylinders lately and sit sixth in the league with 3.40 goals per game.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Out of action Saturday

    Ersson (lower body) will miss Saturday's home game versus Los Angeles, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

    Ersson sustained the injury in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins. Dan Vladar will start Saturday's contest, while Aleksei Kolosov will be the backup after being recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday. It's unclear when Ersson will be available to return.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Facing Flyers

    Kuemper will defend the visiting goal in Philadelphia on Saturday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

    Kuemper is 13-10-9 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.57 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 34 appearances in 2025-26. The Flyers are producing 2.92 goals per game this season, 21st in the league.
