Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets little help in loss

Gibson stopped 20 of 22 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Panthers, with Florida's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

All three Panther tallies were scored by Matthew Tkachuk. Gibson otherwise looked solid in his return from a minor upper-body injury that cost him only one game, and he's allowed more than three goals only once in 17 outings since the calendar flipped to 2026, going 10-5-1 with a stellar 1.99 GAA and .924 save percentage since the beginning of January.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Starting Saturday

Swayman will be between the home pipes versus Washington on Saturday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.

Swayman was outstanding Tuesday, stopping 34 shots in a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh. Overall, the 27-year-old netminder is 23-13-3 with a 2.85 GAA and a .904 save percentage across 40 appearances in 2025-26. The Capitals are generating 3.14 goals per game, 16th in the NHL.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Sharp in Friday's win

Bobrovsky made 28 saves in Friday's 3-1 win over the Red Wings.

With the trade deadline having come and gone without Bobrovsky getting dealt, the veteran netminder returned to the Panthers crease and looked sharp. With fewer distractions, he might be able to find some consistency down the stretch -- Bobrovsky's allowed more than three goals in four of his last 12 outings, going 4-7-0 during that span with a 3.56 GAA and .863 save percentage.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Tending twine Saturday

Stolarz will patrol the home crease against Tampa Bay on Saturday, per Mark Masters of TSN.

Despite stopping 67 of the 72 shots he has faced, Stolarz has gone 0-0-2 in his last two outings because of a pair of shootout losses. He has a 7-8-3 record this campaign with a 3.37 GAA and an .891 save percentage across 20 appearances. Tampa Bay ranks fifth in the league with 3.45 goals per game this season.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Set to start Saturday

Hellebuyck is slated to protect the home net against Vancouver on Saturday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Hellebuyck has won his last two outings while stopping 43 of the 46 shots he has faced. He has a 15-16-9 record this season with a 2.75 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 40 appearances. Vancouver is tied for 29th in the league with 2.56 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Struggles against light workload

Nedeljkovic stopped 11 of 14 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blues.

Nedeljkovic signed a two-year contract extension earlier in the day, but he didn't have a performance worthy of celebrating that deal. The 30-year-old netminder didn't face a lot of traffic, but he gave up one goal to Jimmy Snuggerud and two tallies to Robert Thomas to take the overtime loss. Nedeljkovic is down to 11-9-3 with a 2.83 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 27 appearances. He'll be part of the Sharks' immediate future, providing an experienced option to complement Yaroslav Askarov as the team works to pivot from rebuild to contention. Look for Askarov to get the nod Saturday versus the Islanders.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Earns overtime win

Binnington stopped 23 of 25 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks.

Binnington snapped his eight-game losing streak, backstopping a short-staffed defense in this tight game. The 32-year-old netminder still faced some adversity, allowing a pair of one-goal leads to slip away, but Robert Thomas secured the win with a goal 54 seconds into overtime. Binnington is now 9-18-6 with a 3.55 GAA and an .868 save percentage over 34 appearances. Even with the win, it wouldn't be surprising to see Binnington back on the bench Sunday versus the Ducks, as Joel Hofer has won his last three outings.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Can't stop Wild

Schmid allowed four goals on 24 shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Wild.

Schmid took his third straight regulation loss, and he's allowed 10 goals on 82 shots in those contests. The 25-year-old netminder is now at a 16-9-6 record with a 2.61 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 32 appearances. Adin Hill hasn't exactly inspired much confidence lately either, so the Golden Knights may opt to alternate their goalies until one gets hot. Schmid still has a good chance of racking up wins on a strong team, but his overall performance is risky for fantasy.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Makes 29 saves in win

Gustavsson stopped 29 of 31 shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Golden Knights.

This was Gustavsson's third win in four outings since the Olympics. He's given up just six goals on 124 shots in those contests as he continues to strengthen his grip on the No. 1 job between the pipes for the Wild. Gustavsson improved to 23-10-6 with a 2.53 GAA and a .911 save percentage through 40 appearances. The Wild have another tough matchup ahead as they're set to visit the Avalanche on Sunday. Gustavsson won in Colorado on Feb. 26, stopping 44 of 45 shots in a 5-2 victory while he was battling an illness.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Squanders comeback effort

Montembeault stopped 28 of 33 shots in Friday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Ducks.

Montembeault helped the Canadiens get back in the game in the third period, and the offense was able to pull ahead 5-4. Chris Kreider scored in the final minute of regulation to tie it up again, and Montembeault couldn't steal the win in the shootout, taking his second consecutive loss past regulation time. He's down to 10-8-4 with a 3.43 GAA and an .872 save percentage over 25 appearances this season. Montembeault will likely be on the bench for Saturday's game versus the Kings, which should be a start for Jakub Dobes to close out this road trip.
