  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Third straight loss

Askarov made 16 saves in a 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

The Sharks were solid in the first period, but they slipped in the second and the wheels came off in the third. Askarov is talented, but goalies cannot do things on their own. The southpaw has lost three straight games. Overall, Askarov is 16-13-1 with a 3.51 GAA and an .890 save percentage.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Dialed in and dominating blue paint

Vasilevskiy made 22 saves Tuesday in a 4-1 win over San Jose.

The Big Cat is an impressive 10-0-1 in his last 11 starts. In his last five games, he has really dialed in his focus and allowed just seven goals. Vasilevskiy is 21-7-3 overall with a 2.18 GAA and a .917 save percentage. He's playing as good a game as he's ever delivered in an NHL uniform.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Third straight win

Dobes made 16 saves in a 4-3 win over the Wild on Tuesday.

It's Dobes' third straight win, although that's the extent of games he's played in January. Such was the peril of a three-headed goalie monster, but Jacob Fowler was returned to the AHL a few days ago. Dobes now has sole possession of the second seat, and he could be a solid daily play depending on the matchup. Overall, he's 15-5-3 with a 3.01 GAA and an .887 save percentage.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Not great in loss

Hofer stopped 13 of 15 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Jets.

Hofer wasn't able to pick up a third straight win, as power-play goals by Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele in the first period ended up deciding the game. The 25-year-old Hofer didn't face much traffic in this one, though he kept it close after the early struggles. He's down to 11-10-2 with a 2.73 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 27 appearances. Hofer is well on his way to a career-high workload as he continues to hold down a slight majority of the starts over the last month. The Blues have a back-to-back up next, with a game in Dallas on Friday followed by a home matchup versus the Kings on Saturday, which should allow Hofer and Jordan Binnington to get a start each.

  • Eric Comrie G | WPG

Jets' Eric Comrie: Sharp in Tuesday's win

Comrie stopped 22 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blues.

Comrie earned his second straight win with this performance. In those games, he's given up just two goals on 47 shots. The 30-year-old netminder improved to 8-9-1 with a 3.19 GAA and an .888 save percentage over 18 starts this season. Connor Hellebuyck will likely be between the pipes Thursday versus the Panthers, while Comrie will feature only occasionally in the backup role.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Third straight loss

Wallstedt made 29 saves in a 4-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday.

The game-winning goal came with just 15 seconds left in the third period off the stick of sniper Cole Caufield. Wallstedt has hit a rough patch with three straight losses and 15 goals allowed in that span. He also has just one win in his last six starts (1-3-2). Even with this tough run, Wallstedt still has a .914 save percentage, 2.70 GAA and 12-5-4 record overall.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Injured in first period

Kuemper (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.

Kuemper was hurt in the first period after taking some contact. He previously missed time due to an upper-body injury after a collision in a Dec. 15 game versus the Stars. Should Kuemper be out for an extended period of time again, Anton Forsberg would take over the top job between the pipes.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Questionable to return

Merzlikins (illness) is questionable to return to Tuesday's game versus the Senators.

Merzlikins exited the game after the first period. He allowed two goals on seven shots before he was replaced by Jet Greaves. Merzlikins likely won't be back in the contest unless Greaves gets injured, and the former should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's game versus the Stars.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Set to start Tuesday

Lyon will guard the road goal versus the Predators, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Lyon backed up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on Monday versus the Hurricanes, and now he'll make his return to the crease a day later. Lyon had missed nine games due to a lower-body injury. Given Luukkonen's strong play in Lyon's absence, the Sabres' crease is likely to be a timeshare moving forward.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: In goal Tuesday

Vasilevskiy will patrol the home crease against San Jose on Tuesday, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times.

Vasilevskiy is coming off a 19-save performance in Sunday's 4-1 win over Dallas. He has a 20-7-3 record with a 2.22 GAA, a .915 save percentage and one shutout through 30 appearances in the 2025-26 campaign. San Jose sits 16th in the league with 3.13 goals per game this season.
