  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Third straight loss

Wallstedt made 29 saves in a 4-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday.

The game-winning goal came with just 15 seconds left in the third period off the stick of sniper Cole Caufield. Wallstedt has hit a rough patch with three straight losses and 15 goals allowed in that span. He also has just one win in his last six starts (1-3-2). Even with this tough run, Wallstedt still has a .914 save percentage, 2.70 GAA and 12-5-4 record overall.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Injured in first period

Kuemper (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.

Kuemper was hurt in the first period after taking some contact. He previously missed time due to an upper-body injury after a collision in a Dec. 15 game versus the Stars. Should Kuemper be out for an extended period of time again, Anton Forsberg would take over the top job between the pipes.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Questionable to return

Merzlikins (illness) is questionable to return to Tuesday's game versus the Senators.

Merzlikins exited the game after the first period. He allowed two goals on seven shots before he was replaced by Jet Greaves. Merzlikins likely won't be back in the contest unless Greaves gets injured, and the former should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's game versus the Stars.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Set to start Tuesday

Lyon will guard the road goal versus the Predators, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Lyon backed up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on Monday versus the Hurricanes, and now he'll make his return to the crease a day later. Lyon had missed nine games due to a lower-body injury. Given Luukkonen's strong play in Lyon's absence, the Sabres' crease is likely to be a timeshare moving forward.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: In goal Tuesday

Vasilevskiy will patrol the home crease against San Jose on Tuesday, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times.

Vasilevskiy is coming off a 19-save performance in Sunday's 4-1 win over Dallas. He has a 20-7-3 record with a 2.22 GAA, a .915 save percentage and one shutout through 30 appearances in the 2025-26 campaign. San Jose sits 16th in the league with 3.13 goals per game this season.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Tending twine Tuesday

Wallstedt will defend the road net against Montreal on Tuesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Filip Gustavsson played in Monday's 6-3 win over Toronto, and Wallstedt will get the second half of the back-to-back. The 23-year-old Wallstedt has lost his last two outings while allowing 11 goals on 49 shots. He has a 12-4-4 record this campaign with a 2.64 GAA, a .914 save percentage and four shutouts through 20 appearances. Montreal sits fourth in the league with 3.39 goals per game this season.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Defending crease Tuesday

Askarov will guard the road goal against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Askarov will get the second half of San Jose's back-to-back after Alex Nedeljkovic played in Monday's 4-1 win over Florida. The 23-year-old Askarov has a 16-12-1 record with a 3.53 GAA and an .890 save percentage across 30 appearances of the 2025-26 campaign. Tampa Bay sits second in the league this season with 3.49 goals per game.

  • Eric Comrie G | WPG

    Jets' Eric Comrie: Facing Blues

Comrie will protect the home net against St. Louis on Tuesday, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.

Comrie will get the second half of Winnipeg's back-to-back after Connor Hellebuyck played in Monday's 2-0 loss to Chicago. The 30-year-old Comrie is coming off a 23-save effort in a 5-1 win over the Kings on Jan. 9. He has a 7-9-1 record with a 3.33 GAA and an .884 save percentage through 17 appearances this campaign. St. Louis sits 32nd in the league with 2.43 goals per game this season.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Slated to start

Kuemper is expected to patrol the home crease against the Rangers on Tuesday, per Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider.

Kuemper has gone 0-2-3 in his last five outings while allowing 16 goals on 116 shots. He has a 12-9-9 record with a 2.48 GAA, a .905 save percentage and two shutouts across 31 appearances this campaign. The Rangers sit 27th in the league in the 2025-26 season with 2.66 goals per game.

  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Needed in relief Monday

Hildeby stopped all eight shots he faced in relief of Joseph Woll in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Wild.

Hildeby played the third period, and the Wild's lone tally in that frame was a Marcus Foligno empty-netter. The 24-year-old Hildeby remains at 5-6-4 with a 2.90 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 19 outings. His time with the big club could be nearing a close, as Anthony Stolarz (upper body) started a conditioning stint with AHL Toronto on Tuesday. Once Stolarz is healthy, Hildeby is likely to return to the minor-league team.
