  • Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Falls to Avs

Kolosov made 26 saves in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.

After holding Colorado off the board in the first period, Kolosov gave up two tallies to Cale Makar in the second, one of which pinballed off the skate of at least one Philly defenseman on its way to the back of the net. The 22-year-old netminder is still looking for his first NHL win, going 0-4-0 in four starts with a 3.72 GAA and an .872 save percentage, but with Samuel Ersson (lower body) on IR, Kolosov will get more opportunities to pick it up as he splits the workload in the crease with Ivan Fedotov.

  • Avalanche's Justus Annunen: Hangs on for win Monday

Annunen turned aside 24 shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.

The Avs seemed to have the game well in hand when Casey Mittelstadt gave them a 3-0 lead midway through the third period, but Annunen had to withstand a furious comeback attempt by the Flyers over the final 10 minutes. The 24-year-old goalie is 6-3-0 through 10 appearances this season with a 2.81 GAA and an .886 save percentage, and Annunen figures to see a heavy workload while Alexandar Georgiev (upper body) is on IR.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Comes out flat against Jackets

Swayman stopped 24 shots in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Columbus struck three times in the first period, and while Swayman wasn't directly responsible for that deficit -- all three goals were scored on the counterattack after Boston gave the puck away in the offensive zone -- he also didn't come up with any big saves to bail out his squad. The 25-year-old has just one win in his last five starts, stumbling to a 4.01 GAA and an .866 save percentage over that stretch with a 1-3-1 record. Swayman could begin to cede more work to Joonas Korpisalo until he turns things around.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Sharp in Monday's win

Merzlikins made 28 saves in Monday's 5-1 win over the Bruins.

He lost his shutout bid in the second period on a Boston power play, but Merzlikins otherwise gave the home squad no chance to mount a comeback after Columbus jumped out to an early lead. The 30-year-old netminder is showing flashes of the form he displayed early in his career but is still searching for consistency. Although Elvis has allowed two goals or less in five of his 10 starts, he's also surrendered four goals or more in four outings, leaving him with a 2.72 GAA and a .905 save percentage to go along with a 4-5-1 record.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Picks up second shutout

Montembeault stopped all 30 shots faced in Monday's 3-0 win over Edmonton.

Montembeault stymied the Oilers for his second straight win and second shutout of the season. The numbers haven't always been pretty, but Montembeault has been good recently. He's stopped 80 of the last 83 shots (.963 save percentage) while lowering his GAA to 2.85 over 15 outings this season. He'll have to savor the good feeling until Saturday, when Montreal hosts Vegas.

  • Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Takes loss in Montreal

Pickard stopped 22 of 24 shots in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Canadiens.

Pickard probably wants another chance to stop Montreal's second goal, but he did his job and got little support from the offense; it was the fifth time in seven starts he's allowed two goals or fewer. The Oilers had more shots over the first two periods of the game, but the Canadiens scored late in the second and twice in the third while controlling tempo over the final period. Pickard dropped to 4-3 with a 2.44 GAA and an .893 save percentage. Edmonton is back at it Tuesday night in Ottawa, when presumably Stuart Skinner will start.

  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Defending road crease

Talbot will be in the blue paint for Monday's road game versus the Sharks, according to Max Miller of NHL.com.

Talbot has allowed more than two goals in a game only once through five outings in November. The 37-year-old has alternated losses and wins over his last four matchups, and overall, Talbot has a 5-3-1 record, .927 save percentage and 2.42 GAA through 10 appearances. San Jose ranks second-to-last in the NHL with 2.37 goals per game across 19 contests.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Tending twine in Dallas

Dostal will be between the pipes for Monday's road matchup versus the Stars.

Dostal will make his 13th start of the season Monday -- he has a 4-6-2 record, .922 save percentage and 2.75 GAA through 12 outings. The 24-year-old is 0-4-1 over his last five starts, and he'll face a Dallas club that's scored 3.38 goals per game through 16 contests.

  • Sharks' Vitek Vanecek: Dealing with upper-body issue

Vanecek sustained an upper-body injury and remains day-to-day, ruling him out against Detroit on Monday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

With Vanecek on the shelf, the team called up Yaroslav Askarov to serve as the backup to Mackenzie Blackwood in Monday's matchup with Detroit. At this time, it's unclear if Vanecek will travel for the team's upcoming two-game road trip -- if he doesn't, Blackwood and Askarov would likely split the back-to-back.

  • Sharks' Mackenzie Blackwood: Leaves ice first

Blackwood was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll patrol the home crease versus Detroit.

Blackwood has been seeing the majority of the workload ahead of Vitek Vanecek (undisclosed) but could be in danger of losing starts to Yaroslav Askarov, who was called up from AHL San Jose in light of Vanecek's injury. The 27-year-old Blackwood is struggling for wins, posting a 3-5-3 record to go with a 2.98 GAA, a 914 save percentage and one shutout in 11 outings.
