Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Back in net Sunday
Bussi will start Sunday's road game against the Devils.
Bussi will take the net for the first time since allowing six goals in a 7-5 loss to the Canadiens on New Year's Day. The 27-year-old still has excellent numbers on the season, carrying a 13-2-1 record, 2.33 GAA and .901 save percentage into the contest. The Devils also enter Sunday's game on the second of a back-to-back, but they have won two in a row.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Gets both of back-to-back
Wedgewood will start Sunday's road contest against the Panthers, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.
One night after stopping 25 of the 28 shots he faced in a 5-3 win over the Hurricanes, Wedgewood will start against the Panthers as well. The 33-year-old is riding a personal five-game winning streak, but this is the first time that he has started both games of a back-to-back this season. The Panthers are coming off of a 5-1 defeat in the Winter Classic against the Rangers, which was Florida's third loss in the last four games.

Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Taking on Avs
Tarasov will start Sunday's contest against the Avalanche, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Tarasov will get his first start of 2026 against the league-leading Avalanche. The 26-year-old is 4-6-2 with a 2.96 GAA and an .899 save percentage as the backup goaltender behind Sergei Bobrovsky. The Avalanche come in on the second of a back-to-back but are owners of the league's best offense (4.08 goals per game).

Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Starting Sunday
Montembeault will start Sunday's contest against the Stars, Canadiens insider Patrick Friolet reports.
After just two starts in December, Montembeault will make his first start of 2026 on Sunday in Dallas. The 29-year-old is 6-6-1 with a 3.53 GAA and an .863 save percentage on the campaign. He'll get another shot at a Stars team that beat him twice on six shots after he came on in relief of Jakub Dobes on Nov. 13 in a 7-0 Stars win.
-
Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Sunday
Oettinger will start Sunday's contest against the Canadiens, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports.
In his last start, Oettinger allowed more than three goals for the first time since Nov. 8 against the Predators when he surrendered four in a 4-3 loss to Chicago. The 27-year-old is 16-7-3 with a 2.57 GAA and a .907 save percentage on the season. He'll look to cool off the NHL's sixth-best offense (3.29 goals per game) in the Canadiens as the Stars try to reclaim second place in the Central Division.

Arturs Silovs G | PIT
Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Starting in Columbus
Silovs will defend the road net against the Blue Jackets on Sunday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Silovs will get the second half of Pittsburgh's back-to-back after Stuart Skinner played in Saturday's 4-1 win over Detroit. The 24-year-old Silovs has a 7-5-6 record with one shutout, a 3.19 GAA and an .886 save percentage through 18 appearances this season. He has won his last three outings while allowing nine goals on 76 shots. Columbus is tied for 20th in the league with 2.98 goals per game this campaign.

Jet Greaves G | CLB
Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting afternoon battle
Greaves will get the start Sunday against the Penguins, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Greaves is in the midst of a good stretch of hockey as he's won four of his past five starts with a save percentage above .900 in each contest. The 24-year-old is 12-10-5 with a 2.56 GAA and a .912 save percentage on the season. The Penguins enter Sunday's contest red-hot, having won four straight with a combined 20 goals scored in those games.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Tagged with shootout loss
Thompson stopped 31 of 33 shots in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks.
Thompson was strong between the pipes throughout the game, but he couldn't extend that success to the shootout, where he was beaten on three of six shots. He's on a three-game losing streak, going 0-2-1 with a 3.31 GAA and an .892 save percentage in that span. Thompson has posted a save percentage of .900 or higher in four of his last seven appearances, however, so at least he's putting up decent individual numbers even when the team is struggling.
-
Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Strong effort in shootout win
Knight stopped 32 of 34 shots in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals.
Knight has won his last two starts, but this was one of his best outings of the campaign. Aside from posting an excellent .941 save percentage, he also stopped four of six shootout attempts. Knight has gone 2-1-1 with a 2.97 GAA and an .876 save percentage over his last four starts.

Jordan Binnington G | STL
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Tends first shutout this season
Binnington saved all 25 shots he faced in Saturday's 2-0 shutout win over the Canadiens.
Binnington notched his first win since Dec. 7 in emphatic fashion, posting his first shutout of the season. The 32-year-old netminder is up to an 8-10-6 record with a 3.40 GAA and an .874 save percentage across 25 appearances this season. Now that the questions surrounding if he would be included on Team Canada's roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games have been put to bed, Binnington could use his selection as a boost of confidence moving forward. If he can string together strong performances similar to Saturday's, he could work his way back to a trustworthy spot in two-goalie fantasy formats. Both Binnington and Joel Hofer earned victories in their last respective starts, and they will likely continue to split starts in St. Louis' crease.
