Thatcher Demko G | VAN
Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Gets no help in loss
Demko stopped 23 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Rangers. The second goal was an empty-netter.
The Canucks pushed late in the game, but they couldn't give Demko any goal support. The 29-year-old netminder has yet to allow more than three goals in any of his seven outings this season, and this was the second time he's started consecutive contests. Demko is at 4-3-0 with a 2.18 GAA and a .926 save percentage. He'll need more help to regularly earn wins, but the California native looks to be back in peak form after an injury-riddled 2024-25. The Canucks start a three-game road trip in St. Louis on Thursday.

Karel Vejmelka G | UTA
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Has first rough game
Vejmelka allowed five goals on 24 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.
This was the first really bad game for Vejmelka, though he allowed four goals on 20 shots against the Blues last week in a win. The 29-year-old netminder won't be at his best all the time, but he's been a big positive for the Mammoth early in the season. He's 6-2-0 with a 2.75 GAA and an .892 save percentage over eight starts this season. The Mammoth are back at home for a game Sunday versus the Lightning before embarking on their third road trip of the year and the first one to take them into the Eastern Conference.

Juuse Saros G | NSH
Predators' Juuse Saros: Team backbone gets no help
Saros made 25 saves in a 5-2 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday.
So, here's the drill. Saros needs to be nearly perfect given the Preds' horrid offense -- Tuesday was the eighth time in 11 games that they scored two or fewer goals. Saros is doing his part. He is 4-3-2 with a 2.84 GAA and a .904, which are solid numbers given the circumstances.

Stuart Skinner G | PIT
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Straightens out after first period
Skinner stopped 20 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Mammoth.
Skinner allowed two of the three goals against in the first period. The Oilers came out with a cleaner performance in the final 40 minutes, and that helped Skinner limit the damage to a Barrett Hayton goal in that stretch while the Edmonton offense took over. Skinner is now 3-3-1 on the year with a 2.41 GAA and an .898 save percentage over seven outings. He's been the No. 1 for the Oilers so far, but his performance still isn't inspiring a ton of confidence. The Oilers' next game is a favorable home matchup Thursday versus the low-scoring Rangers.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Great saves in loss
Wolf made 33 saves in a 4-3 loss to Toronto on Tuesday.
The phrase high-and-dry comes to mind for Wolf, who made several 10-bell saves when his mates were out of position. This young man is exceptional post-to-post, and he's saving a lot of sure goals. However, Wolf also has the NHL's third-worst GSAx (-5.2). He's talented, but you need stability, not promise. Bench him.

Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: First win since Oct. 16
Stolarz made 26 saves in a 4-3 win over Calgary on Tuesday.
It was his first win since Oct. 16 against the Rangers. In between, he allowed 13 goals in three losses (0-2-1). Stolarz has an awful .886 save percentage through eight appearances -- his career low for an entire regular season is .897, which was set in 2022-23 -- but the entire team has been scuffling. It will improve.

Arturs Silovs G | PIT
Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Hot start continues
Silovs made 32 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Flyers on Tuesday.
Silovs has been hot to start the season -- he is 3-1-2 in six starts with a 2.44 GAA and a .919 save percentage. He and Tristan Jarry have been splitting games this season, and both men have been strong in the blue paint. Silovs is a must-roster guy this year, and he could find himself on the heavy side of a 60/40 split by season's end.

Filip Gustavsson G | MIN
Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Rough start continues
Gustavsson allowed four goals on just 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss against Winnipeg.
It was another tough night for Gustavsson, who dropped his third straight start as Minnesota's struggles continued. The 26-year-old has now allowed four or more goals in four of his eight outings, falling to a 2-5-1 record. Despite the rough stretch, he remains firmly entrenched as the Wild's No. 1 goaltender after his strong 2024-25 campaign. He'll aim to get back on track Thursday in a challenging matchup against a surging Pittsburgh team.

Samuel Ersson G | PHI
Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Second straight win
Ersson made 24 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The first goal snuck between Ersson's pad and the goal post in the first period, and the second was a pure fluke in the third frame. Sidney Crosby backhanded a pass from behind the net, but it hit Nick Seeler's shoulder and dropped in behind Ersson. The 26-year-old Ersson has now won two games in a row while allowing five goals after surrendering eight markers across two losses (0-1-1) to start the season. Ersson's game may be tightening up.

Connor Hellebuyck G | WPG
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Comes away with overtime win
Hellebuyck stopped 33 of 36 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Minnesota.
After dropping back-to-back home games, Hellebuyck rebounded with a strong performance against Minnesota, stopping 33 shots in Winnipeg's comeback win. A few unlucky bounces kept the numbers from looking even better, but the veteran netminder still improved to 5-3 on the season with an impressive 2.25 GAA and .926 save percentage. He remains a top-tier fantasy option heading into Thursday's favorable home matchup against Chicago.
