  • Lightning's Brandon Halverson: Earns another shutout in AHL play

Halverson posted a 19-save shutout in AHL Syracuse's 3-0 win over Utica.

Halverson has two shutouts and three wins in four starts to begin the AHL campaign. He's setting himself up well for a call-up should the Lightning lose Andrei Vasilevskiy or Jonas Johansson for any length of time. Halverson will continue to handle a starting role over Ryan Fanti while with the Crunch.

  • Islanders' Marcus Hogberg: Records shutout in AHL

Hogberg posted a 33-save shutout in AHL Bridgeport's 3-0 win over Hartford on Friday.

Bridgeport was on the attack early, and Hogberg made sure that lead never faded. This was his first AHL shutout since the 2018-19 season -- he didn't have one in 11 appearances with Bridgeport last year in his return to North America after a stint in his native Sweden. Hogberg is currently third on the Islanders' depth chart behind NHL goalies Ilya Sorokin and David Rittich, and he could slip to fourth once Semyon Varlamov (knee) can play again.

  • Red Wings' Sebastian Cossa: Shuts out Manitoba

Cossa posted a 30-save shutout in AHL Grand Rapids' 4-0 win over Manitoba on Friday.

Cossa earned his first shutout of the season and the fourth of his minor-league career. He's 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA and a .943 save percentage over three games this season. Cossa has put up excellent numbers over the last two campaigns, but the Red Wings are taking their time with his development. Should something cause an absence for John Gibson or Cam Talbot, Cossa would likely get the call to Detroit.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Surrenders four goals

Wolf stopped 27 of 31 shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Wolf wasn't able to hold the Jets back in a four-goal second period, though two of them came on the power play. He's allowed four or more goals in four of his eight outings this season, leading to a 3.68 GAA and an .874 save percentage in addition to a 1-6-1 record. The Flames haven't had many easy matchups so far, but it may be best for fantasy managers to deploy Wolf against weaker teams. One such game could be up next, as the Flames host the low-scoring Rangers on Sunday.

  • Eric Comrie G | WPG

Jets' Eric Comrie: Comes away with win

Comrie stopped 30 of 33 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.

Comrie got the job done in the second half of a back-to-back despite allowing a goal in each period. The 30-year-old netminder has allowed five goals on 68 shots over his first two starts this season, winning both of them. He won't play much as backup to reigning MVP and Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck, but the Jets' strong structure makes Comrie a quality backup for streaming in fantasy when he gets the nod. Look for Hellebuyck to face the high-octane Mammoth on Sunday.

  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: First poor outing of season

Greaves allowed five goals on 30 shots in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Capitals.

This was Greaves' first really bad game of the season, though he ended up with his third loss in four starts. The 24-year-old allowed just one goal through two periods before the Capitals broke things open in the third. Greaves has alternated starts with Elvis Merzlikins early in the campaign, and that workload may continue throughout the year. Expect Merzlikins to start Saturday in Pittsburgh before Greaves presumably leads off another back-to-back set with a road start in Buffalo on Tuesday.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Dominant in Friday's win

Thompson stopped 34 of 35 shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Thompson won his fifth start in a row, and it's the third straight game where he's limited an opponent to one goal. The 28-year-old has been among the best goalies in the league to start 2025-26, going 5-1-0 with a 1.50 GAA and a .938 save percentage through six starts. Thompson hasn't often faced heavy workloads behind a stalwart defense, but he can hold the fort when he has to. Charlie Lindgren will likely get the nod for Saturday's home game versus the Senators, but Thompson should be between the pipes Tuesday in Dallas.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Rough outing in Buffalo

Stolarz stopped 25 of 30 shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.

The teams traded two goals apiece in the first period, but the Sabres scored a pair in the second to take control. Stolarz has allowed 13 goals while going 0-2-1 over his last three games. The 31-year-old has taken on a heavy workload while Joseph Woll (personal) has been out, but Woll is nearing a return to practice. Stolarz is 2-4-1 with a 3.31 GAA and an .885 save percentage through seven starts. He'll watch from the bench Saturday as Cayden Primeau draws a home start versus the Sabres.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Picks up third win

Lyon stopped 29 of 32 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs.

Lyon did well enough to hold off Toronto in the first game of the two teams' home-and-home set this weekend. This was his third win in his last four outings. The 32-year-old is now 3-4-0 with a 2.61 GAA and a .922 save percentage across seven starts this season. The Sabres didn't announce their goaltending plans for Saturday's game in Toronto, but it could be the season debut of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who was removed from injured reserve Thursday.

  • Maple Leafs' Cayden Primeau: Starting Saturday at home

Primeau will guard the home goal in Saturday's game versus the Sabres, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports.

Primeau will get his second start of the season in a rematch of Friday's game, which the Sabres won 5-3 with Anthony Stolarz in goal. In his Toronto debut, Primeau stopped 26 of 30 shots in a 7-4 win over the Predators. He'll be looking to put in a better performance this time, especially with news of Joseph Woll (personal) beginning to ramp up activities as he starts to work his way back to game fitness.
