Joseph Woll G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Begins preparing for return
Woll (personal) has rejoined the Maple Leafs, and he'll begin participating in on-ice activities to prepare for his eventual season debut, the team announced Friday.
Woll is on long-term injured reserve, so the earliest he's eligible to play is Nov. 1 in Philadelphia, but after being away from the team since Sept. 23, he'll need some time to get back up to speed anyway. When Woll is ready to be activated, he'll serve as Toronto's No. 2 goaltender behind Anthony Stolarz. Woll will probably play more than your typical understudy, which would result in a reduced workload for Stolarz, who has appeared in six of the Maple Leafs' opening seven games. Current No. 2 goaltender Cayden Primeau is expected to be sent to the minors once Woll is available.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Between pipes Friday
Wolf will defend the visiting crease in Winnipeg on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Wolf is turning his season around thanks to a pair of good performances in which he gave up four goals on 55 shots. He struggled before that, allowing 20 goals on 137 shots (.854 save percentage) over five games. Wolf is 1-5-1 this season. The Jets dropped a 3-0 decision to Seattle on Thursday and could be tired in the second game of back-to-back contests.

Filip Gustavsson G | MIN
Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Facing Mammoth
Gustavsson will get the start at home against the Mammoth on Saturday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Gustavsson picked up a shutout Opening Night, stopping 26 St. Louis shots in a 5-0 win. It has not been pretty since then, as Gustavsson is 2-4-0 overall with a 3.03 GAA and a .902 save percentage. The Mammoth exploded for seven goals Thursday in St. Louis and are tied for seventh overall in scoring, averaging 3.50 goals per game.

Eric Comrie G | WPG
Jets' Eric Comrie: Expected to start Friday
Comrie is expected to start at home against the Flames on Friday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
The Jets are playing the second half of a back-to-back set Friday, and Comrie is slated to make his second start of the year after Connor Hellebuyck started against Seattle on Thursday. Comrie was effective in his season debut against the Islanders on Oct. 13, turning aside 33 of 35 shots (.943 save percentage) in a 5-2 victory.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Starting Friday
Allen will be in the home blue paint versus San Jose on Friday, Kristy Flannery of the Hockey News reports.
Allen is off to a good start with a 3-0-0 record in four appearances. The 35-year-old netminder has a 1.91 GAA and a .931 save percentage this season. The Sharks defeated the Rangers 6-5 in overtime Thursday and could be a tired team Friday.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Facing Blue Jackets
Thompson will be between the pipes in Columbus on Friday, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post.
Thompson will make his sixth start in eight games as he has cemented his role as the Capitals' No. 1 goaltender over Charlie Lindgren. Thompson is 4-1-0 with a sparkling 1.61 GAA and a .927 save percentage in five starts this season. The Blue Jackets are 13th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.17 goals per game.

Carter Hart G | LV
Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Inks two-year deal
Hart (suspension) signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Golden Knights on Friday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Hart joined the Golden Knights on a professional tryout agreement last week and has been practicing at the team's facility since then. He can start appearing in games with AHL Henderson beginning Nov. 15, but he won't be able to suit up for Vegas until Dec. 1 due to disciplinary measures from the league. Adin Hill (lower body) is considered week-to-week after exiting Monday's win over the Hurricanes, and Akira Schmid will likely serve as the Golden Knights' No. 1 option in his absence, while Carl Lindbom was recalled from the AHL.

Alex Lyon G | BUF
Sabres' Alex Lyon: Slated to start Friday
Lyon is expected to defend the home crease against the Maple Leafs on Friday, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.
Lyon got his first night off Wednesday against the Red Wings, but he'll return to the crease in the first half of a back-to-back set Friday. Over his first six starts of the season, he's gone 2-4-0 with a 2.54 GAA and a .924 save percentage.
-
Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Set to start Friday
Stolarz is slated to start Friday's road game against the Sabres, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.
Despite going 0-1-1 with a 3.95 GAA and an .871 save percentage over his last two starts, Stolarz will be in the net for a fourth consecutive matchup. The Sabres have won three of their last four games, scoring at least three goals in each of their wins, so they'll be a somewhat tough test in the first half of a back-to-back set.

Linus Ullmark G | OTT
Senators' Linus Ullmark: Sharp in third win
Ullmark turned aside 22 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Tyson Foerster beat Ullmark on the Flyers' first shot of the night, but the 32-year-old netminder slammed the door shut on the visitors the rest of the way. Ullmark has started seven of the Senators' first eight games, but his performance has been inconsistent, leaving him with a 3-3-1 record, 3.40 GAA and .867 save percentage. Leevi Merilainen coughed up seven goals in his only NHL start of the season so far, but the 23-year-old figures to encroach on Ullmark's workload a little more significantly if the veteran can't steady the ship.
