  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Signs one-year extension

Andersen (undisclosed) signed a one-year contract, $2.75 million extension with Carolina on Saturday.

Rather than testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent, Andersen will return to the Hurricanes for a fifth straight season. Since joining Carolina for the 2021-22 campaign, he has posted a record of 82-35-5 with nine shutouts, a 2.27 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 124 regular-season appearances. Andersen sat out Tuesday's series-clinching 5-4 overtime win over New Jersey but should be ready for the beginning of Round 2 after practicing without restrictions Friday and Saturday.

  • Wild's Marc-Andre Fleury: Makes retirement official

Fleury announced his retirement from playing hockey Saturday, per NHL Alumni.

Fleury played 21 seasons in the NHL, winning three Stanley Cups. He finishes his career with 575 wins -- second all-time to Martin Brodeur -- a 2.60 GAA and a .912 save percentage across 1,051 regular-season appearances. Fleury started his career in Pittsburgh (where he won all three of his Cups) before moving on to Vegas, Chicago and Minnesota.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Tending twine in Dallas

Blackwood will defend the road net against the Stars on Saturday in Game 7, per Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports.

Blackwood is coming off a 22-save effort in Thursday's 7-4 win over Dallas in Game 6. He has a 2.65 GAA and an .899 save percentage through six appearances this postseason. Dallas is tied for 11th in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 2.83 goals per game.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting Game 7

Oettinger will be between the home pipes versus Colorado on Saturday in Game 7, according to Owen Newkirk of DLLS Sports.

Oettinger has a 2.99 GAA and a .909 save percentage in six playoff games. He was 36-18-4 with two shutouts, a 2.59 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 58 regular-season games in 2024-25. Colorado has generated the sixth-most goals per game (3.67) and the second-most shots per game (35.7) this postseason.

  • Canadiens' Cayden Primeau: Returned to AHL Laval

Primeau was loaned to AHL Laval on Saturday.

Primeau was the backup goalie behind Jakub Dobes after Sam Montembeault (groin) sustained an injury in Game 3 versus Washington. Despite a 20-save shutout by Jacob Fowler in a 4-0 win over AHL Cleveland on Friday, Primeau could return to the crease in the Calder Cup Playoffs. The 25-year-old Primeau was sensational with Laval in the regular season, going 21-2-2 with a 1.96 GAA and a .927 save percentage across 26 appearances.

  • Eric Comrie G | WPG

Jets' Eric Comrie: Plays third period again Friday

Comrie stopped all four shots he faced in relief of Connor Hellebuyck in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 6.

This was Comrie's third relief appearance in the postseason. He's allowed just one goal on 13 shots over those three outings, which total 42:59 of ice time. Hellebuyck's ongoing road struggles have taken the headlines in the first round, but there's virtually no chance the Jets will turn to Comrie for Game 7 on Sunday in Winnipeg.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Road woes continue

Hellebuyck stopped 18 of 23 shots before he was replaced by Eric Comrie in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 6.

The first half of the game made it seem as if Hellebuyck had moved past his road woes. That illusion came crashing down when the Blues tallied four times in a span of 5:23 after the midway mark of the second period. Hellebuyck allowed 16 goals on 66 shots over three contests in St. Louis during this series, and he was pulled from all of those games. Luckily for him, Game 7 on Sunday is on home ice, where he's been noticeably better at 3-0 with seven goals allowed on 58 shots in the first round.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Keeps season alive in Game 6 win

Binnington stopped 21 of 23 shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Jets in Game 6.

The game was pretty even for 30 minutes, but the Blues erupted for four goals in a span of 5:23 in the second period. This gave Binnington plenty of support, and while he allowed a goal in the third, the lead was never threatened. The home team has won every game in this series, with Binnington going 3-3 while allowing 15 goals on 145 shots (.897 save percentage) over six playoff outings. He'll have to buck that trend in Winnipeg on Sunday for Game 7 if the Blues are to make it into the second round.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Starting Game 6

Hellebuyck will guard the road goal in Friday's Game 6 versus the Blues, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Hellebuyck is 3-2 in the first round, but he's gotten there with an uninspiring 3.96 GAA and an .822 save percentage. He allowed 11 goals on 43 shots in the two previous road games, and he was pulled from both contests. He'll need to be significantly better if the Jets want to avoid Game 7.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Slated to start Game 6

Binnington is slated to start Friday's Game 6 at home against the Jets.

Binnington is coming off a road loss Wednesday in which he turned aside 21 of 25 shots (.840 save percentage). That start matched his worst outing of the Blues' first-round series, but he'll attempt to force a Game 7 with a win Friday. He's been much more effective at home during the playoffs, going 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .940 save percentage.
