Frederik Andersen G | CAR
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Won't play in Game 5
Andersen (undisclosed) is day-to-day and will not suit up for Game 5 against the Devils on Tuesday, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.
Andersen was banged up after being run into by Timo Meier in Sunday's Game 4 victory. The veteran netminder was credited with the win, though, turning aside six of seven shots prior to departing. Pyotr Kochetkov is in line to draw his first start of the 2024-25 postseason in Game 5 due to Andersen's undisclosed injury. If the Canes are able to close out the series Tuesday, the 35-year-old Andersen will have multiple days to recover ahead of the second round.

Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Questionable for Game 5
Montembeault (lower body) remains day-to-day in the lead up to Wednesday's Game 5 clash with Washington, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Montembeault put up decent numbers in his three postseason appearances, registering a 2.76 GAA and a .908 save percentage despite failing to record a victory. Barring a surprise recovery, Montembeault seems unlikely to guard the cage for Game 5, which would leave the crease open for Jakub Dobes, who started Game 4.

Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In goal for Game 5
Stolarz will get the starting nod at home versus Ottawa in Game 5 on Tuesday, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports.
Through four postseason appearances, Stolarz is sporting a 3-1 record, 2.29 GAA and .902 save percentage. As such, he'll be afforded some leash after giving up four goals on 21 shots in Game 4, staying in the crease for Tuesday's tilt. He'll look to get back on track in this series-clinching Game 5.

Spencer Martin G | NYR
Hurricanes' Spencer Martin: Called up from minors
Martin was promoted from AHL Chicago on Tuesday.
Martin's elevation to the main roster may not bode well for the availability of Frederik Andersen (undisclosed) ahead of Tuesday's clash with the Devils. Still, recalling Martin could be simply a depth move, considering the Wolves have already been eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoffs.
-
Joseph Woll G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Rejoins practice
Woll (illness) was back on the ice ahead of Tuesday's Game 5 matchup with Ottawa, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Woll has yet to appear in a postseason game and is unlikely to do so Tuesday, given how well Anthony Stolarz has performed as the starter. As such, Woll figures to serve as the No. 2 option for Game 5. Still, if called upon, Woll would be a decent option, having gone 27-14-1 in 42 regular-season appearances this year with a 2.73 GAA.
-
Dennis Hildeby G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Up from AHL
Hildeby was recalled from AHL Toronto on Tuesday, per David Alter of The Hockey News.
Hildeby had a 3-3-0 record while stopping 136 of 156 shots in six NHL appearances during the 2024-25 regular season. The 23-year-old Hildeby will be a depth netminder for the Maple Leafs in the playoffs, along with Artur Akhtyamov, because Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll have the top two spots on the roster.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Stands tall in Monday's win
Oettinger made 26 saves Monday in the Stars' 6-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 5 of their first-round series.
Wyatt Johnston scored just nine seconds into the game, setting a new Dallas postseason record, and Oettinger made sure his squad wouldn't lose the lead the rest of the way. After a bumpy performance in Game 1, the 26-year-old netminder has allowed three goals or fewer in four straight starts, and he'll carry a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage this postseason into Game 6 on Thursday as the Stars look to advance to the second round.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Needed in relief Monday
Wedgewood stopped all eight shots he faced in the third period Monday after replacing Mackenzie Blackwood during the Avalanche's 6-2 loss to the Stars in Game 5 of their first-round series.
The 32-year-old netminder was sharp in his first game action in over two weeks, but the hole Colorado found itself in heading into the final frame was too deep to climb out of. Blackwood had been playing well prior to Monday's collapse, so Wedgewood will likely be back on the bench for Game 6 on Thursday as the Avs try to force a Game 7.

MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Gets hook in Game 5
Blackwood gave up five goals on 18 shots Monday before being replaced by Scott Wedgewood to begin the third period of the Avalanche's 6-2 loss to the Stars in Game 5 of their first-round series.
After shutting out Dallas in Game 4, the 28-year-old netminder crashed back to earth in Game 5, starting with a Wyatt Johnston tally just nine seconds into the game that banked in off Blackwood on a shot from below the red line -- setting a new Stars franchise record for the quickest goal to begin a playoff contest in the process. Despite the stumble, Blackwood sports a 2.38 GAA and a .909 save percentage through five outings this postseason, and he'll likely be back between the pipes for Game 6 on Thursday as the Avs look to avoid elimination.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | FLA
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Not busy in Game 4 win
Bobrovsky made 18 saves Monday in the Panthers' 4-2 win over the Lightning in Game 4 of their first-round series.
Two Tampa Bay goals netted 11 seconds apart in the second period accounted for all the scoring against Bobrovsky. The veteran netminder has given up two goals or fewer in three of four starts to begin Florida's postseason run, and he'll take a 2.01 GAA and a .902 save percentage into Game 5 on Wednesday as the Panthers look to punch their tickets to the second round.
