Maple Leafs' Matt Murray: Heads to AHL
Murray was reassigned to AHL Toronto on Thursday.
Murray, who was summoned Jan. 23, didn't end up playing for the Maple Leafs during his latest NHL stint, but he does have a 1-1-0 record, 3.53 GAA and .879 save percentage in two NHL appearances in 2024-25 due to a previous stint with Toronto. Anthony Stolarz (knee) was activated off injured reserve Thursday, which is why Murray is returning to the minors.

Schmid was called up from AHL Henderson on Thursday, per SinBin.Vegas.
Schmid is not expected to dress for Thursday's game against the Devils. The Golden Knights might have made the move to give Adin Hill some extra rest before he appears for Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Hill will start Thursday, but he may be scratched for rest when the Golden Knights visit the Bruins for a matinee game Saturday.

Devils' Jake Allen: Facing Vegas
Allen will guard the home goal versus the Golden Knights on Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Allen will get the nod as he looks to bounce back from giving up four goals on 27 shots to the Sabres on Sunday. The 34-year-old netminder has won three of his last six outings. The Golden Knights have scored just 14 goals over their last six games, going 1-3-2 in that span.

Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Starting against Kraken
Stolarz (knee) will tend the twine on the road versus Seattle on Thursday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Stolarz will be between the pipes for the first time since Dec. 12 versus the Ducks, a stretch of 24 games on the shelf due to his knee injury. With Stolarz back in action, Matt Murray figures to be shipped down to the minors while Stolarz and Joseph Woll split the starting duties in Toronto.

Lightning's Brandon Halverson: Placed on waivers
Halverson was put on waivers Thursday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Halverson was signed to a two-year contract by the Lightning on Monday. Halverson will likely be returned to AHL Syracuse, should he pass through waivers, but he could still back up Andrei Vasilevskiy on Thursday, as Jonas Johansson (lower body) remains out of action through the 4 Nations Face-Off break.

Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Slated to start against Calgary
Blackwood was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Conor McGahey of Altitude TV reports, indicating that he'll draw the start on the road against Calgary.
Blackwood will draw a sixth consecutive start Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get a night off in Edmonton on Friday since it's the second half of a back-to-back set. Blackwood has gone 3-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .927 save percentage over his last five starts, a span that includes a pair of shutout wins. The Flames are a favorable opponent, as they're averaging 2.66 goals this season, which is the fifth-worst mark in the NHL.

Sharks' Vitek Vanecek: Expected to start Thursday
Vanecek (face) was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate and is slated to guard the home cage versus Vancouver on Thursday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Vanecek will make his first NHL appearance since he suffered a fractured cheekbone sitting on the bench as the backup goaltender against the Jets on Dec. 17. Vanecek is a mediocre 3-8-1 with a 3.84 GAA and an .885 save percentage in 14 games this season. The Canucks are generating 2.83 goals per game, 22nd in the NHL in 2024-25.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: First off ice Thursday
Daccord was the first netminder off the ice at morning skate and is slated to patrol the home crease versus Toronto on Thursday, according to Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network.
Daccord is 18-13-3 with one shutout, a 2.49 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 36 contests this season, establishing himself as the Kraken's No. 1 goaltender in 2024-25. The Maple Leafs have won two in a row on their current road trip and are averaging 3.11 goals this season.

Panthers' Spencer Knight: Starting against St. Louis
Knight will patrol the road crease in St. Louis on Thursday.
Knight is 4-2-0 in his last seven appearances with a 1.71 GAA and a .940 save percentage as he is starting to take away starts from the 36-year-old Sergei Bobrovsky in the Florida net. Knight is 10-8-1 with a 2.49 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 21 games this season. The Blues are generating 2.67 goals per game, 27th in the NHL this season.

Hill has allowed four goals in four of his last five games, going 1-2-2 with a 3,40 GAA and an .883 save percentage. Overall, he is 19-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 33 appearances in 2024-25. He will face the Devils, who are generating 3.28 goals per game, fifth in the NHL.
