Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Busy in loss
Montembeault allowed four goals on 45 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings.
The Red Wings came out flying, sending 17 shots on Montembeault in the first period and scoring twice. The barrage never let up, as Detroit returned home from a disappointing road trip and took it out on Montreal. Montembeault has alternated wins and losses over his last seven starts. The Canadiens return to action Saturday night at home against New Jersey.

Samuel Ersson G | PHI
Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Five-game win streak snapped
Ersson made 31 saves in a 6-1 loss to the Rangers on Thursday. He allowed five goals.
The Flyers went up just 1:25 into the game, but the red-hot Rangers fired off six unanswered goals to take the win. The loss ended Ersson's five-game winning streak, a span in which he allowed just eight goals. Overall, he's 14-8-2 with a 2.80 GAA and .891 save percentage, and he's a big part of why the Flyers are just three points out of a Wild Card position.

Igor Shesterkin G | NYR
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Dominant over last seven games
Shesterkin made 35 saves in a 6-1 win over the Flyers on Thursday.
Owen Tippett ended Shesterkin's shutout streak at 165:28 at 1:25 of the first period when Travis Konecny's pass into the slot redirected off his skate and into the Rangers net. The netminder was perfect after that. Shesterkin is 6-0-1 with a .948 save percentage and 1.39 GAA since Jan. 9 (seven games). Another strong performance this weekend and Shesterkin could be in line for an NHL "Three Stars" of the week honor or even a Player of the Month nod.

Anton Forsberg G | LA
Senators' Anton Forsberg: Great effort wasted by mates
Forsberg made 24 saves in a 2-0 loss to Boston on Thursday.
He allowed one goal in a duel with former platoon-mate, Joonas Korpisalo. He was great, but the rest of the Sens didn't show up. Forsberg has allowed just one goal in each of his last two starts, but at the same time, he's just 1-5-1 with 23 goals allowed in his last seven starts (eight games). Forsberg is a tough fantasy activation.

Joonas Korpisalo G | BOS
Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Third shutout this season
Korpisalo made 29 saves in a 2-0 win over the Senators on Thursday.
It was Korpisalo's third shutout of the season, and in a twist of fate, it came against his former team. He has won his last two starts after a 1-2-1 skid with 16 goals allowed, and he will be in the net while Jeremy Swayman (upper body) rests a mild injury. Korpisalo (15 starts) required the fifth-fewest starts in Bruins history to get three SOs with his new club, behind Frank Brimsek (six), Tiny Thompson (seven), Terry Sawchuk (nine) and Hal Winkler (10).

Cam Talbot G | DET
Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Turns page on home ice
Talbot stopped 27 of 29 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over Montreal.
Talbot bounced back from a disappointing effort the last time out when he was pulled after two periods and allowed five goals on 16 shots in a loss to the Lightning. He and the Red Wings turned the page on a rough road trip, getting off to a dominating start at home (17 shots in the first period) and handily beating a hot Canadiens team. Talbot's won six of his last seven starts heading into a redemption match on home ice against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Justus Annunen G | NSH
Predators' Justus Annunen: Facing Sharks
Annunen will start on the road versus the Sharks on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Juuse Saros struggled Tuesday against the Sharks at home, and head coach Andrew Brunette will spare him having to face them again in such short order. Instead, Annunen will get the nod after picking up a win in relief in Tuesday's game. Annunen has allowed five goals on 70 shots while winning all three of his outings in January, and this is a favorable matchup for him to keep the good times rolling.

John Gibson G | DET
Ducks' John Gibson: Expected to start Thursday
Gibson is set to start at home against Pittsburgh on Thursday, according to Ducks PA Announcer Phil Hulett.
Gibson has gone 0-5-0 over his past five appearances while posting a 3.08 GAA and a .903 save percentage over that stretch. He has a 7-8-2 record, 2.86 GAA and .909 save percentage in 19 outings overall. Pittsburgh ranks 16th in goals per game with 3.00.

Joey Daccord G | SEA
Kraken's Joey Daccord: Between pipes Thursday
Daccord will start at home versus the Capitals on Thursday, per Emerald City Hockey.
Daccord will make his fifth straight start after winning three of his last four games. In that span, he's allowed just 10 goals on 128 shots (.922 save percentage). The Capitals will be a tough test for Daccord -- they're on a five-game winning streak with 15 goals scored in that span.

Kevin Lankinen G | VAN
Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Set for backup duties
Lankinen (illness) is set to back up Thatcher Demko in Thursday's road game versus the Oilers, per the NHL media site.
Lankinen will suit up after sitting out Tuesday's contest against the Sabres. Arturs Silovs backed up in that game but was sent back down Wednesday and wasn't recalled, so Lankinen can be presumed healthy enough to back up. It's unclear when Lankinen might make his next start.
