  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Makes relief appearance

Grubauer stopped six of seven shots in relief of Joey Daccord in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Grubauer played the third period after a lackluster performance from Daccord and the Kraken as a whole over the first 40 minutes. Grubauer has done well in two outings this season, giving up three goals on 31 shots against playoff-caliber opponents. The 34-year-old netminder could work his way into a more even split of playing time if he continues to do well. The Kraken are heading on the road for a five-game trip, which begins in Detroit on Friday.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Pulled after two periods

Daccord surrendered five goals on 21 shots in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Daccord played the first two periods, but he struggled, as did the team in front of him. Philipp Grubauer worked the final frame, allowing one goal on seven shots. Daccord looked good in his first two starts of the year against the Flames, but a tougher opponent gave him some adversity. With seven goals allowed on 79 shots, Daccord is still doing well and should be able to maintain at least a tandem share of the starts. The Kraken are set to begin a five-game road trip in Detroit on Friday.

  • Mark Stone RW | LV

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Earns Gordie Howe hat trick

Stone scored a shorthanded goal on four shots, added a power-play assist, logged five PIM, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.

Stone was involved in virtually every aspect of the game Tuesday. He got the assist in the first period and scored in the second. To round out the Gordie Howe hat trick, Stone fought Brandon Montour in the third period when things turned contentious following Victor Olofsson's (undisclosed) exit from the game. Stone has two goals, two assists, eight shots on net, seven hits, four blocked shots, seven PIM and a plus-5 rating over four outings this season while working on the top line and first power-play unit.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Season-opening goal streak extended

Schmaltz had a goal and two assists in a 5-3 Utah victory over New Jersey on Tuesday night. The goal came on the power play.

The snipe extended Schmaltz's season-opening goal streak to four games. He leads the NHL with five goals. The assists were the first of his season. Schmaltz's head coach was effusive with his praise in the postgame scrum: "He can play with a left-hand stick right now and I will still take him on my team," said Andre Tourigny. "He's so good everywhere on the ice. Defensively, offensively, as a non-killer, as a puck-carrier ... what a player." Schmaltz fired four shots Tuesday, so he now has 17 on the season. He's white hot right now, proving that his breakout 74 points, including 33 goals, last season wasn't a fluke. All offense in Utah seems to run through him.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Four-point burst in win

Eichel scored a goal on two shots, added three assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.

Two of Eichel's assists were on the power play, and the other one was of the shorthanded variety. The 29-year-old center has had no trouble getting going this season, earning multiple points in three of four contests. He has two goals, eight assists, eight shots on net and a plus-3 rating so far, with his 10 points leading the league through Tuesday's action.

  • Tomas Hertl C | LV

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Dominant force in win

Hertl scored two power-play goals on three shots, added two assists and logged two hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.

Hertl had his best game of the young season with this performance. Production with the man advantage looks like it'll be the key to his scoring this year -- all three of his goals have come on the power play. The center is seeing time on the third line at even strength. Hertl has five points, 14 shots on net, nine hits, three blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over four appearances.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Cruises to win over Kraken

Hart stopped 25 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.

Hart gave up a pair of goals in the third period, but the game was already firmly in favor of the Golden Knights. It's been a steady start to the year for Hart, who has allowed eight goals on 73 shots over three games, going 2-1-0. He looks set to continue working as Vegas' primary goalie. The Golden Knights return home to face the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

  • Brad Marchand LW | FLA

Panthers' Brad Marchand: Hurt in Tuesday's game

Marchand sustained an apparent left leg injury in Tuesday's game versus the Kings, and there was no update on his status following the contest, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Marchand, who was in just his second game after returning from a surgically-repaired lower-body injury, came off the ice with no pressure on his left leg in the third period. The winger's status will be undetermined until further evaluations are completed. The Panthers' next game is Saturday at home versus the Wild, so there's a little time for the team to run tests to determine the severity of the issue, but based on how Marchand looked getting off the ice, he could miss time.

  • Golden Knights' Victor Olofsson: Sustains injury Tuesday

Olofsson sustained an undisclosed injured in Tuesday's game versus the Kraken, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Olofsson is undergoing further evaluation, and an update isn't expected until Thursday. That leaves his status up in the air for Thursday's game versus the Maple Leafs. Olofsson scored twice in Tuesday's contest prior to his exit, which came when Ben Meyers boarded him in the third period. Vegas isn't carrying an extra healthy forward at this time, so the team made need a roster move to fill out its lineup if Olofsson has to miss time.

  • Islanders' Brayden Schenn: Helps out on both goals in loss

Schenn logged a pair of assists, including one on the power play, and fired two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.

Schenn is rolling early in the season with a goal, three assists, seven shots on net and eight hits over three contests. The 35-year-old is playing on the second line, working primarily as a winger while sharing faceoff duties with Calum Ritchie. Schenn brings a good mix of offense and grit to the table, making him a quality option for the lower half of a fantasy roster, especially in formats where he carries multi-position eligibility.
