  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Stellar statline in OT loss

Suzuki tallied a goal, recorded three assists, posted a plus-four rating, fired four shots on net and dished out four hits in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to Pittsburgh.

Despite the Canadiens coming up short in OT, Suzuki was instrumental in getting his squad to the extra period in the first place. He stuffed the stat sheet with three primary helpers, which were on goals tucked away by three different players. In addition to the goal he scored himself, he defended well by maintaining a plus-four rating and dishing out four hits in the process. The reigning Selke Trophy winner is not only coming off a phenomenal defensive season, but one where he compiled 29 goals and 101 points across 82 regular-season games. As a player who has never missed a regular-season game and carries a high all-around ceiling, Suzuki is one of the true elite centers in fantasy.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Falls to Oilers

Grubauer stopped 22 of 24 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Edmonton, with the Oilers' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Making his first appearance of the season, Grubauer kept the Kraken in the contest but didn't get a lot of offensive support. The veteran netminder produced a 2.65 GAA and .909 save percentage in 2025-26, better ratios than Joey Daccord, and if that trend continues into the current campaign, Grubauer could work his way into a timeshare rather than being the clear No. 2 in the crease.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Holds on for OT win

Silovs turned aside 20 of 25 shots on net in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Canadiens.

After Silovs began his 2026-27 campaign with a shutout, he took a step backwards Saturday by conceding five goals. However, he was able to fend off the Canadiens' comeback in overtime long enough for Tommy Novak to give the Penguins a win. With the overtime victory, the 25-year-old Silovs now has a 2-0-0 record, a 2.46 GAA, an .886 save percentage across 44 shots on net and a shutout between two appearances. While he has some things to clean up, the young backstop has showcased enough early on to keep him as the projected lead option between the pipes. However, Sergei Murashov, who has yet to make his season debut, could challenge Silovs for playing time if he gets off to a hot start. Regardless, Silovs is a low-end No. 2 or strong No. 3 goalie option in fantasy for the time being.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Falls short in OT

Dobes stopped 24 of 30 shots on net in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Despite allowing five consecutive goals to the Penguins between the first and second periods, Dobes was able to help the Canadiens force overtime, as he kept the net tidy while his offense scored four times. With Saturday's OT loss, the 25-year-old backstop now has a 1-0-1 record, a 4.03 GAA and an .862 save percentage across two appearances. Saturday's stats heavily bring his season totals down, as he was solid in the team's Opening Night win over the Maple Leafs. With the Habs having three games over the next seven days, the team will likely give Jacob Fowler his first appearance of the season before Dobes gets his chance to bounce back.

  • Ondrej Palat LW | NYI

Islanders' Ondrej Palat: Bends twine in win

Palat scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Devils.

Palat is seeing fourth-line usage to begin the season. That's a role he's become familiar with recently -- he had 15 points over 80 regular-season games between the Islanders and the Devils last year. Palat also picked up 133 hits, and his physicality is his best path to fantasy relevance in deep formats. With limited ice time expected, he's not going to do much in standard leagues.

  • Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Puts up two points in win

Cizikas scored a shorthanded goal on four shots, dished an assist, added two hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Devils.

Cizikas is back for another year as the Islanders' fourth-line center, and he should also see some time on the penalty kill. The 35-year-old can throw the body around a bit as well -- he's logged four hits over two games so far. Cizikas isn't the type of player to have widespread fantasy value, but he can help in deep formats that reward hits.

  • Islanders' Simon Holmstrom: Two points in big win

Holmstrom scored a goal, dished a shorthanded assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Devils.

Holmstrom opened the scoring 3:32 into the second period, and he set up a Casey Cizikas shorthanded tally to wrap things up. Holmstrom was on the third line in this contest after seeing top-six usage in the season opener. The 25-year-old winger will see ice time in all situations, but it would be better for his offense to stick in the top six. However, his versatility and defensive skills can lead to him moving around the lineup. Holmstrom had 19 goals, 41 points (four on the power play, four while shorthanded) and 100 shots on net over 79 regular-season outings in 2025-26.

  • Flames' Matthew Coronato: Cashes in on power play

Coronato scored a power-play goal and went minus-4 in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.

Coronato tallied in the first period, but he was also on the ice for all of the Canucks' goals in the third. The 23-year-old winger has yet to live up to the promise that made him the 13th overall pick in 2021, but he will have plenty of opportunities to change the narrative this year. He's slated to see steady top-six minutes and top billing on the power play. Through two games, he has a goal, a minus-6 rating and two shots on net.

  • Devin Cooley G | CGY

Flames' Devin Cooley: Loses to Canucks

Cooley allowed three goals on 25 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Cooley didn't get any help from his offense after the first period. That didn't matter quite as much as him allowing three goals in the third to squander the narrow lead, though one had to be confirmed on video review. The 29-year-old netminder is in a tough spot this year as the backup goalie on a team expected to be near the bottom of the standings. Cooley defied the situation last year with a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 31 games last year, but those numbers will be tough to repeat after Calgary's summer sell-off. Expect Dustin Wolf to get the nod in Seattle on Sunday.

  • Canucks' Tom Willander: Adds pair of assists

Willander notched two assists and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Flames.

Willander has opened the season in a top-four role and on the second power-play unit. The 21-year-old defenseman has earned three assists, three blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over three contests. There's risk involved in rostering a Vancouver defenseman in fantasy, but Willander has some breakout potential after a 21-point campaign as a rookie in sheltered minutes last year.
