This was Zhilkin's first NHL point, coming in his sixth appearance. The 22-year-old has added four shots on net, five hits, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating while playing in a fourth-line role. Zhilkin looks likely to stay in the lineup until one of Vladislav Namestnikov (lower body) or Morgan Barron (concussion) is healthy enough to play.

Zhilkin played four games earlier in the year with the Jets and was unable to garner a point. The rookie center had 11 goals and 11 assists in 54 AHL games before his recall. Morgan Barron is in the concussion protocol, which resulted in Zhilkin being brought up from the minors.

Zhilkin was a bigger factor on offense earlier in the year, but he had gone 11 games without a goal, adding just two helpers in that span. For the season, he has four goals and seven points across 15 games. The 21-year-old forward has still made a noticeable improvement compared to last year, when he was limited to 10 points in 53 regular-season outings.

Zhilkin scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in AHL Manitoba's 4-1 win over Laval on Friday.
Zhilkin has yet to display much of a scoring touch in the AHL, producing just 17 points in 97 regular-season outings over his first two campaigns. However, the 21-year-old Russian has been a bit young for the league in those years. If he can stay healthy, he may be able to get into more of a groove in 2025-26.
