Penguins' Kevin Hayes: Won't play Saturday

Hayes (upper body) isn't expected to play Saturday versus Utah, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.

Hayes hasn't been in the lineup since March 3. He has three goals and five points in 25 appearances in 2025-26. There's no guarantee that Hayes will be put into the lineup when he's healthy.

  • Ryan Graves D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Moves to IR

Graves (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.

After being sent to the minors Thursday for a conditioning stint, Graves appeared in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-2 loss to Hershey on Friday. It's unclear when he will be available to return to action. Graves has one goal, 19 shots on net, 35 blocked shots and 15 hits in 19 NHL appearances this season.

  • Penguins' Samuel Girard: Ruled out Saturday

Girard (upper body) will miss Saturday's clash in Utah, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.

Girard will miss his third straight game. The 27-year-old blueliner has yet to pick up a point in seven games with Pittsburgh after being acquired from Colorado on Feb. 24. He had three goals and nine assists in 40 games with the Avalanche before the trade. It's unclear if he will be ready to return Monday against his former teammates in Colorado.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Between pipes Saturday

Swayman will defend the road net against Washington on Saturday, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Swayman is coming off a 24-save effort in a 4-2 loss to San Jose on Thursday. He has a 25-14-3 record this campaign with one shutout, a 2.79 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 43 appearances. Washington sits 16th in the league with 3.12 goals per game this season.

  • Flames' Zach Whitecloud: Good to go

Whitecloud (upper body) will return to the lineup against the Islanders on Saturday.

Following a three-game absence, Whitecloud is poised to occupy a top-four role and should see time on the penalty kill. He has earned four assists, 17 shots on goal, 28 blocked shots and 25 hits in 14 games with Calgary since being acquired from Vegas on Jan. 18.

  • Penguins' Stuart Skinner: First goalie off Saturday

Skinner was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate and is slated to defend the road goal against Utah on Saturday, according to Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site.

Skinner is 0-1-4 in his last five starts, allowing 16 goals on 136 shots (.882 save percentage). The netminder is 8-5-4 with a 2.70 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 17 starts with the Penguins. He posted an 11-8-4 mark and an identical .891 save percentage over 23 games with the Oilers before a Dec. 12 trade from Edmonton. The Mammoth are averaging 3.11 goals per game in 2025-26, which ranks 17th in the NHL.

  • Blackhawks' Anton Frondell: Hits high mark for 18-year-old

Frondell scored his 20th goal of the season in Djurgardens' 3-2 loss to Skelleftea in the SHL on Saturday.

Per Scott Powers of The Athletic, Frondell is the first 18-year-old to hit the 20-goal mark in Sweden's top league since Daniel Sedin did it in 1998-99. That's elite company for Frondell, who ends the regular season with 20 goals and eight assists in 43 appearances. Given that level of production, Frondell looks ready to take his game to North America in 2026-27.

  • Eddie Genborg RW | DET

Red Wings' Eddie Genborg: Ends regular season with 25 points

Genborg logged an assist in Timra IK's 3-1 loss to the Vaxjo Lakers on Saturday in the SHL.

Genborg ended the regular season with a solid 25 points over 43 appearances. The Red Wings prospect looked good in growing his offense this year. Timra missed the SHL playoffs but also managed to avoid a relegation battle. Genborg has yet to sign his entry-level contract, so he would need to do that before coming over to North America.

  • Mammoth's Maksymilian Szuber: Returned to AHL

Szuber was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Saturday.

Szuber has been a healthy scratch in Utah's last three games. He hasn't logged any playing time in the NHL yet this season. The 23-year-old blueliner has 10 goals and 25 points in 50 AHL appearances during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Red Wings' Michael Rasmussen: Out for at least one week

Rasmussen (undisclosed) will be unavailable for at least one week, per Taylor Baird of NHL.com on Saturday.

It's unclear when Rasmussen will be available to return to the lineup. Detroit may dress 11 forwards and seven defenders in Saturday's matchup against Dallas due to multiple injuries to the forward group. Rasmussen has six goals, 14 points, 64 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and 62 hits through 61 outings this season.
