Oilers' Matt Savoie: Set to miss eight weeks
Savoie (lower body) is expected to be sidelined for around eight weeks.

The 22-year-old forward is an exciting up and coming player who posted 18 goals, 37 points, 138 shots on net and 37 blocked shots across 82 regular-season games in 2025-26. In Savoie's absence, the Oilers will experiment with other young players in the lineup, such as Colton Dach and Owen Michaels, until he is ready to return. The 33-year-old winger was limited in 2025-26, where he compiled a goal and eight points across 43 regular-season outings. Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Making Opening Night start
Dobes will defend the road crease in Tuesday's Opening Night Matchup against the Maple Leafs, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

It remains to be seen whether Vladar or Joseph Woll will get the start Wednesday.
