  • Nathan Legare: Pens overseas deal

Legare put pen to paper on a one-year contract with KHL club HC Traktor on Thursday, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.

Legare saw action in just one regular-season game for the Devils last season in which he failed to register a point while producing two hits and one block. At this point, Legare faces an uphill climb to return to the NHL. If that's the case, he'll have logged four games without seeing his name in the points column.

  • Max Psenicka D | UTA

Mammoth's Max Psenicka: Secures entry-level deal

Psenicka signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Utah on Thursday.

Psenicka spent the bulk of 2025-26 playing in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks, logging eight goals and 22 assists in 53 regular-season contests. The 19-year-old blueliner eventually featured in two games with AHL Tucson and could be the organization's under-20 designated player for the upcoming AHL season.

  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Inks three-year deal

Greaves secured a three-year, $15 million contract with Columbus on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Greaves and the Jackets will avoid salary arbitration by agreeing to this new deal that represents a significant upgrade from his previous two-year, $1.63 million contract. Looking ahead to the 2026-27 campaign, the 25-year-old backstop will likely enter training camp as the presumptive No. 1 option, despite Elvis Merzlikins still being under contract.

  • Patrick Kane RW | CHI

Blackhawks' Patrick Kane: Returning to Chicago

Kane agreed to terms on a two-year, $16 million contract with the Blackhawks on Thursday.

Kane was selected by the Hawks with the first overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft, spending 16 years with the club before being traded to the Rangers in February of 2023. During that time, the veteran winger saw action in 1,161 regular-season games, racking up 446 goals and 779 assists while also winning three Stanley Cup championships. With his return, Kane figures to slot into a top-six role and should see plenty of time with the man advantage.

  • Danton Heinen LW | CLB

Blue Jackets' Danton Heinen: Lands two-way contract

Heinen signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Heinen made 46 regular-season appearances between Pittsburgh and Columbus last year, recording six goals, six assists, 54 hits, 24 blocked shots and 16 PIM while averaging 11:20 of ice time. He'll remain with the Blue Jackets for another year and should have a chance to compete for a spot on the NHL roster while on his two-way contract.

  • Nils Aman C | VAN

Nils Aman: Inks three-year SHL deal

Aman agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Djurgardens IF of the SHL on Tuesday.

Aman saw action in just two NHL games with Vancouver last season, failing to register a point while producing one shot, two hits and one block. Given the length of his contract with the Swedish club, it seems unlikely the 26-year-old center will make a return to the NHL. If that is the case, he'll eventually hang up his skates having appeared in 132 regular-season tilts in which he recorded eight goals and 21 assists.

  • Stars' Jason Robertson: Agrees to one-year deal

Robertson signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Stars on Tuesday.

Robertson will avoid the arbitration hearing he had scheduled for Saturday. The winger's short-term contract allows him to stay with the Stars for 2026-27, though the value of the contract makes it potentially easier for the team to trade him at some point this season if it becomes clear he won't sign a long-term extension ahead of unrestricted free agency next summer. Robertson will head into the campaign as the Stars' top left wing and a reliable power-play option, so fantasy managers can draft the 40-goal, 100-point threat with confidence in the first couple of rounds this fall.

  • Panthers' Mikulas Hovorka: Re-ups with Florida

Hovorka signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Hovorka just completed his entry-level deal in 2025-26. He logged 18 points in 57 regular-season outings for AHL Charlotte last year, as well as one assist in four games with the Panthers. He will likely spend most of 2026-27 in the AHL.

  • Andrew Agozzino: Announces retirement

Agozzino announced his retirement from professional hockey Tuesday.

Agozzino amassed 284 goals and 662 points across 847 regular-season games at the AHL level. He also had three goals and 12 points in 53 career NHL appearances with Utah, San Jose, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Colorado. However, he didn't see any playing time during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The 35-year-old forward had 19 goals and 39 points in 56 outings for AHL Tucson during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • John Marino D | UTA

Mammoth's John Marino: Staying in Utah

Marino signed an eight-year, $54 million contract extension with the Mammoth on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Marino's new deal will begin in 2027-28. The 2015 sixth-round pick set new career highs in 2025-26 with 32 assists, 36 points and a plus-42 rating over 80 regular-season games. While he's certainly more of a shutdown defenseman, if Marino can even somewhat replicate his production from last season, he will be a solid depth option for fantasy managers in deeper formats. However, his lack of all-around contributions caps his ceiling in smaller leagues.
