  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Nets pair of power-play goals

Geekie scored two power-play goals, including the game-winning tally, placed three shots on net and dished out two hits in Saturday's 4-3 win over Montreal.

Geekie played the hero in Saturday's contest with a power-play goal in the second period to tie the contest before he later scored the go-ahead tally just 12 seconds after Fraser Minten leveled the game at three apiece. Overall, the 27-year-old Geekie is up to 28 goals, 47 points, 118 shots on net and 82 hits through 51 games this season. Since a one-game absence for the birth of his son, he has six points and two multi-point efforts in six games. Dating back to Jan. 1, 2025, he is tied for third across the NHL with 53 goals.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Holds on for comeback win

Swayman turned aside 22 of 25 shots on net in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

Despite allowing a hat trick to Cole Caufield across the first 33 minutes of Saturday's contest, Swayman stepped up down the stretch and kept Boston's net clean for the entire third period en route to the comeback victory. With Saturday's win, he is up to a 20-12-2 record, a 2.89 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 35 outings this season. The 27-year-old netminder is tied for fourth in the league in wins and ranks inside the top 10 in save percentage among goalies with 30-plus appearances this season. His second full year as the Bruins' top netminder has been a noteworthy improvement compared to the first, and Swayman remains a strong option between the pipes across most fantasy formats. He'll have a chance to grab his seventh win over his last nine appearances if he takes the ice for Monday's road clash with the Rangers.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Yields four goals in loss

Montembeault stopped 17 of 21 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.

Montembeault kept Montreal's net tidy in the first period before allowing two goals in each of the final two periods of Saturday's contest. Three of the four goals he surrendered came on power plays for the Bruins, who took advantage of Montreal's 26th-ranked penalty kill. Overall, the 29-year-old Montembeault now has a 9-8-2 record with a 3.46 GAA and an .869 save percentage across 22 appearances this season. Since winning each of his first three starts following his recall from an AHL conditioning stint, he has lost three of his last four outings with a 3.75 GAA and an .867 save percentage. With the Canadiens trending down in the Atlantic Division standings, Montembeault is a risky fantasy option and will have to turn things around soon if he wants to fend off Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler for opportunities in net.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Beaten four times Saturday

Hellebuyck stopped 26 of 30 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Red Wings. The remaining goal was an empty-netter late in the third period.

Hellebuyck was excellent in the first two periods, but the Red Wings scored four times in the final frame to put the game out of reach. Hellebuyck has been slumping of late and is currently on a four-game losing skid (0-2-2), but his peripheral stats are better than his record over that stretch with a 2.45 GAA and a .909 save percentage on 110 shots faced.

  • Cole Koepke LW | WPG

Jets' Cole Koepke: Pots goal vs. Detroit

Koepke scored a goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Red Wings.

Koepke opened the scoring for the Jets at the 10:08 mark of the second period with a backhander. The 27-year-old isn't known for his scoring prowess, however, as this was just his fourth goal of the campaign. That said, two of those four goals and four of his 10 points have come in January, so he seems to be heading in the right direction, even if his fantasy prospects remain limited across all formats.

  • Alex DeBrincat RW | DET

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Finds twine Saturday

DeBrincat recorded a goal and took four shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

DeBrincat snapped a brief two-game goal drought with an empty-netter at the 18:11 mark of the final period, when the Jets were desperate to turn things around. DeBrincat has 27 goals on the season and comfortably leads the Red Wings in that department, and he's a consistent source of offense every time he steps on the ice. He's racked up 13 points (seven goals, six assists), a plus-1 rating and 44 shots on goal in 12 January outings.

  • Lucas Raymond LW | DET

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Keeps point streak alive

Raymond recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Raymond gave the Red Wings a 3-1 lead midway through the third period, and he later assisted on Marco Kasper's goal at the 18:43 mark of the same frame. Raymond has posted three multi-point performances during this five-game point streak, a stretch in which he's racked up nine points. Furthermore, the 23-year-old star winger has cracked the scoresheet in all but two of his 12 games in January, tallying 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in that stretch.

  • J.T. Compher LW | DET

Red Wings' J.T. Compher: Scores twice vs. Jets

Compher scored two goals and took four shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Compher scored twice in the same game for the first time this season to raise his season total to eight goals. As good as he was Saturday, Compher isn't known for being much of a fantasy contributor. He has 19 points in 53 games this season, and the 30-year-old forward might fall short of the 30-point plateau for the first time since 2020-21.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Records eighth straight win

Gibson stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Gibson was magnificent en route to his eighth consecutive win, and Saturday's victory marked the fourth time during Gibson's winning streak that he allowed no more than one goal. The 32-year-old owns a 1.73 GAA and an excellent .938 save percentage during the streak, having stopped 210 of 224 shots faced.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Records two helpers

Carlson logged a pair of assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Oilers.

Carlson continues to roll in January. He has five helpers over his last three games and a total of one goal and 13 assists in his last 11 outings. For the season, the 36-year-old defenseman is up to nine goals, 34 assists, 102 shots on net, 70 blocks, 24 PIM and a plus-11 rating through 49 appearances in his usual top-four role.
