  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Nabs shootout win in Raleigh

Knight turned aside 28 shots in regulation and overtime and five of six shootout attempts during Thursday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes.

Chicago grabbed one-goal leads in every period, only for Carolina to quickly answer back each time, but Knight locked things down in OT and the shootout with only Andrei Svechnikov managing to get a puck past him. Knight has put together an impressive January, going 5-2-0 in seven starts with a 2.25 GAA and .924 save percentage.

  • Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Two helpers against Vegas

Geekie notched two power-play assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.

Both helpers came 30 seconds apart midway through the first period as the Bruins grabbed a 2-0 lead. It was Geekie's first multi-point performance since Dec. 20, and during the 13 games in between, the 27-year-old managed only one goal and four points -- his first real slump of the season.

  • Bruins' Elias Lindholm: Two points against Vegas

Lindholm scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.

The veteran center gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead midway through the first period before helping to set up what proved to be the game-winner by David Pastrnak in the second. Lindholm has put together a strong January, delivering three goals and 10 points in 10 games on the month.

  • David Pastrnak RW | BOS

Bruins' David Pastrnak: Three-point effort in win

Pastrnak scored the game-winning goal and added two power-play assists in Thursday's 4-3 victory over Vegas.

His second-period tally gave the Bruins a 4-0 lead and looked like it would be nothing more than an insurance tally, but the Golden Knights very nearly mounted a stunning comeback in the third. Pastrnak extended his point streak to five games with the performance, and through 10 contests in January he's erupted for four goals and 19 points, including a goal and five assists on the power play.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Hangs on for win No. 10

Korpisalo stopped 30 shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.

The veteran netminder took a shutout into the third period, but Korpisalo had to withstand a furious comeback attempt by Vegas to put the win in the books. Korpisalo's won all four of his starts in January, improving his record on the season to 10-8-0, and for the month he's posted a dazzling 1.42 GAA and .948 save percentage.

  • Ryan Pulock D | NYI

    Islanders' Ryan Pulock: Day-to-day

Pulock (upper body) is day-to-day and questionable for Saturday's clash versus Buffalo, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

Pulock left Wednesday's game versus Seattle with 4:39 left in the third period and did not return. The blueliner has two goals, 19 assists, 93 blocked shots, 34 hits and 62 shots on goal in 50 games this season.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Point streak reaches 10 games

Eichel scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.

Both points came in the third period, as the Golden Knights tried to mount a comeback from a 4-0 deficit. Eichel extended his point streak to 10 games in the process, a scoring surge in which he's racked up six goals and 18 points, including six power-play helpers.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Stumbles in Boston

Schmid made 25 saves in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.

Boston built a 4-0 lead through two periods, including two power-play tallies, and while Schmid was able to shut the door in the third, Vegas' comeback attempt fell just short. It was Schmid's first regulation loss in January, and on the month he's gone 4-1-1 in six outings with a 2.57 GAA and .897 save percentage.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In goal Friday

Stolarz (upper body) will get the starting nod at home against Vegas on Friday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports.

Stolarz will be in the crease for the first time since Nov. 11 versus the Bruins. In his 13 outings this year, the 32-year-old backstop is sporting a 6-5-1 record and 3.51 GAA. Now that Stolarz is back to 100 percent, he will likely split the workload with Joseph Woll, though Stolarz could push for the starting gig outright with some strong performances.

  • Maple Leafs' Oliver Ekman-Larsson: Playing Friday

Ekman-Larsson (lower body) will be in the lineup Friday versus Vegas, Dave McCarthy of NHL.com reports.

Ekman-Larsson left Wednesday's game in the opening period and did not return. It was thought that Ekman-Larsson would miss some time, but he improved immensely Thursday and was on the ice at practice Friday. Ekman-Larsson has eight goals, 23 assists, 62 hits, 41 blocked shots and 72 shots on goal across 50 games this season.
