  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Not available against Oilers

Letang (upper body) won't be an option for Thursday's matchup in Edmonton and is still considered day-to-day, per Josh Yohe of The Athletic.

While Letang won't be available Thursday, the Penguins will get Erik Karlsson (lower body) back in the lineup in Edmonton. Letang's next chance to suit up will be in Vancouver on Sunday, when Pittsburgh concludes its road trip. Letang has generated three goals, 25 points, 77 shots, 65 hits, 60 blocks and a plus-5 rating across 48 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Defending crease in Edmonton

Silovs will be between the road pipes against the Oilers on Thursday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.

Despite posting a .926 save percentage and 1.93 GAA over his last three outings, Silovs is 0-1-2 in that span. The 24-year-old had won four straight matchups prior to his current three-game losing streak, but he had a 3.17 GAA and an .871 save percentage during that aforementioned winning streak, so it's been a puzzling stretch of late for Silovs. The Latvian netminder will face an Edmonton squad that sits fifth in the NHL with 3.35 goals per game this season and will get Leon Draisaitl (personal) back in Thursday's lineup.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Removed from IR

Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game in Edmonton.

Ryan Graves (lower body) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. It was reported Jan. 13 that the 35-year-old Karlsson would be out of action for at least two weeks, but the veteran blueliner seemingly made strides in his recovery and is poised to return to the lineup Thursday in Edmonton. If Kris Letang (upper body) isn't able to suit up, Karlsson may have a big workload in store if he's 100 percent healthy.

  • Ryan Graves D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Placed on injured reserve

Graves (lower body) was put on injured reserve Thursday.

The Penguins' announcement didn't specify the nature of Graves' injury, but he's dealing with a lower-body issue, according to Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site. Graves has a goal, eight PIM, 15 hits and 35 blocks in 19 outings in 2025-26. Erik Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Graves played in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Calgary, so putting him on IR means that he isn't eligible to play Thursday in Edmonton or Sunday in Vancouver.

  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Late scratch Thursday

Dickinson (illness) will miss Thursday's game against Carolina, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Dickinson has six goals, 10 points, eight PIM, 41 hits and 27 blocks in 36 outings in 2025-26. Colton Dach was originally projected to be a healthy scratch due to Andre Burakovsky's (illness) return, but Dickinson's absence is slated to keep Dach in the lineup.

  • Blackhawks' Andre Burakovsky: Expected to play Thursday

Burakovsky (illness) is set to play Thursday in Carolina, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Burakovsky didn't play in Monday's 2-0 win over Winnipeg. He has 10 goals and 30 points in 43 outings in 2025-26. He's projected to play on the top line alongside Ryan Greene and Connor Bedard on Thursday.

  • Sabres' Michael Kesselring: Suiting up Thursday

Kesselring (ankle) is available for Thursday's game in Montreal, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com.

Kesselring has played in just one of Buffalo's last 10 games, but he'll return to the lineup after being deemed a game-time call earlier Thursday. The right-shot blueliner is slated to skate on the third pairing beside Jacob Bryson in Montreal. Zach Metsa will be a healthy scratch as a result of Kesselring suiting up.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Drawing start in Montreal

Luukkonen will patrol the road blue paint Thursday versus the Canadiens, per Heather Engel of NHL.com.

Luukkonen has lost back-to-back starts while allowing a combined seven goals on 64 shots (.891 save percentage) following a three-game winning streak. The Canadiens have won their previous two games against Ottawa and Minnesota, which came on the heels of a loss to Buffalo last Thursday, but Colten Ellis was between the pipes for that contest. Luukkonen has struggled against Montreal during his career, posting a 1-2-0 record, 4.54 GAA and .847 save percentage over four outings.

  • Wild's Nicolas Aube-Kubel: Returns to minors

Aube-Kubel was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Thursday, per Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News.

Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) was activated from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Aube-Kubel has an assist in four games with Minnesota in 2025-26. He also has seven goals and 17 points in 31 outings with Iowa this season.

  • Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek: Activated by Minnesota

Eriksson Ek (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday, Dylan Loucks of The Hockey News reports.

Eriksson Ek was considered a game-time decision ahead of Thursday's matchup against Detroit, and he'll be able to suit up following his six-game absence due to a lower-body injury. Over 45 appearances this year, he's recorded 11 goals, 21 assists, 68 hits, 20 PIM and 19 blocked shots while averaging 19:34 of ice time.
