Luke Hughes D | NJ
Devils' Luke Hughes: Hurt in Calgary
Head coach Sheldon Keefe relayed after Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames that Hughes (undisclosed) is going to miss some time, according to Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News.
Hughes was injured during the second period and didn't return to the game. NHL Insider Frank Seravalli reported that it sounds like the initial assessment of Hughes' injury is a dislocated shoulder, but that hasn't been made official by the team. Keefe told the media that Hughes still needs further evaluation and won't be available for the remainder of the Devils' road trip, which concludes Sunday in Seattle. Johnny Kovacevic, who was a healthy scratch Monday, is poised to draw back into the lineup in the second half of the team's back-to-back Tuesday in Edmonton.

Vladimir Tarasenko RW | MIN
Wild's Vladimir Tarasenko: Three-game, six-point streak
Tarasenko scored twice and had an assist in a 6-3 win over Toronto on Monday.
Tarasenko's second goal stood as the winner. He's on a three-game, six-point streak (three goals, three assists). He has 12 shots in that span. Tarasenko had just one goal in his previous 11 games. He is a fixture on the second line in Minnesota. His production is better than he put up last season in Detroit, but with 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 43 games, Tarasenko will have his worst output since an injury-riddled 2020-21 when he played in just 24 games (14 points).

Marcus Foligno LW | MIN
Wild's Marcus Foligno: First NHL hat trick in 915th game
Foligno scored three goals Monday in a 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
It was his first NHL hat trick. Foligno scored at even strength, on the power play and into an empty net. The hattie came in his 915th NHL game. The wheels have come off Foligno's game this season -- he doubled his goal total (to six), and he has just 10 points in 40 games. Still, Foligno's confidence has to be sky high right now. He has five goals and nine shots in his last four games.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Short stick in tight contest
Luukkonen made 26 saves on 28 shots in a 2-1 loss to Carolina on Monday.
It was a tight contest; the game was tied 1-1 until early in the third period. Luukkonen has lost two straight games to the hands of the Wild and Hurricanes, but since Christmas, he is 5-2-1 in eight starts (21 goals allowed). Luukkonen is 10-7-2 with a 2.69 GAA and .903 save percentage in 19 games (18 starts) this season.

Rasmus Dahlin D | BUF
Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Five-game, six-point streak
Dahlin scored a goal Monday in a 2-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Dahlin extended his point streak to five games and six points (three goals, three assists). He has 12 shots in that span and 117 in 44 games this season. Dahlin also has 57 blocks and 38 hits this season.

Brandon Bussi G | CAR
Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Among NHL's best in net so far
Bussi made 17 saves on 18 shots in a 2-1 win over the Sabres on Monday.
Bussi improved to 18-3-1 this season. He was especially dazzling mid-way through the second frame when he lunged across the crease to get leather on Tage Thompson's one-timer on a 2-on-0. Bussi has a 2.20 GAA, which puts him into a tie with Devin Cooley of the Flames for second in the NHL among goalies that have played 15 or more games.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Three-game, four-point streak
Jarvis scored the game-winning goal on the power play in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Sabres.
He fired five shots and added five hits. Jarvis has four points (one goal, three assists) on a three-game scoring streak and 37 points, including 22 goals, 135 shots and 62 hits in 42 games this season. Jarvis is well on his way to a third-straight 30-plus goal season, and if he continues his current success, he could establish a new career mark. His previous best of 33 came in 2023-24.

Denton Mateychuk D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Might be cleared later this week
Mateychuk (upper body) didn't participate in Monday's practice, but the hope is that the blueliner is cleared to return at some point later this week, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
Given this latest update on Mateychuk's status, the 21-year-old probably won't be available until at least Saturday's home matchup against the Lightning. Mateychuk sustained his upper-body injury Jan. 11 in Utah and has missed three consecutive contests as a result. The 2022 first-round pick has provided decent fantasy utility in his second NHL campaign, generating eight goals, 13 helpers, 63 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 44 appearances.

Andrei Svechnikov RW | CAR
Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Flirting with career production
Svechnikov had a goal and a power-play assist in a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Monday. He also had four hits and six PIM.
Svechnikov has seven points (five goals, two assists) on a three-game point streak. He scored a hat trick Saturday against the Devils. Svechnikov is on a 69-point pace, which would equal his career mark (2021-22), but strip away his 0-for-eight games to start the season, and the winger has been delivering at a point-per-game pace ever since. Svechnikov has 138 shots, 14 power-play points, 87 hits and 38 PIM in 50 games this season.

Niko Mikkola D | FLA
Panthers' Niko Mikkola: Suffers injury against San Jose
Mikkola sustained an undisclosed injury during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Sharks, and there was no update on his status postgame, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Mikkola posted two hits and a minus-3 rating in 12:36 of ice time prior to departing the game. Olive noted that the Panthers are off Tuesday, so an update on Mikkola's status should be available Wednesday. The Panthers will begin a three-game road trip in Winnipeg on Thursday.
