Ethan Bear D | NYI
Islanders' Ethan Bear: Compiles three helpers in AHL win
Bear logged three assists in AHL Bridgeport's 6-2 win over Lehigh Valley on Monday.
Bear is rolling for Bridgeport with a goal and five assists over his first five games of the season. He cleared waivers Dec. 29 after beginning the season with an undisclosed injury that cost him three months of playing time. The 28-year-old defenseman will be given plenty of time to get up to speed, and if he plays well, he could be a call-up option for the Islanders.

Adam Beckman LW | NJ
Islanders' Adam Beckman: Big game for Bridgeport
Beckman scored three goals and added an assist in AHL Bridgeport's 6-2 win over Lehigh Valley on Monday.

He had a career-high 40 points in 55 regular-season outings between Utica and Bridgeport last year, but he could do even better in 2025-26 if he keeps up his current pace.

Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Set to start Monday
Knight is expected to start at home against Winnipeg on Monday, per Vinnie Parise of The Hockey News.
Knight has lost his past two starts, though that was in large part due to a lack of offensive support. He stopped 53 of 58 shots (.914 save percentage) across those games. Knight is 13-13-6 with a 2.61 GAA and a .910 save percentage in 32 outings in 2025-26. The Jets saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-3 overtime loss to Toronto on Saturday, but Winnipeg has still scored at least three goals in each of its past seven games.

Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Late scratch Monday
Nichushkin (upper body) will miss Monday's game against Washington.
Alex Barre-Boulet was summoned from AHL Colorado, which means the Avalanche still have 12 healthy forwards to dress versus the Capitals. Nichushkin has 11 goals and 27 points in 38 outings in 2025-26. It wasn't immediately clear how significant Nichushkin's injury is, so his status for Wednesday's game against Anaheim isn't known.
