    Burakovsky is considered a game-time decision Monday versus Winnipeg because of an illness and a family matter, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

    Burakovsky has 10 goals and 30 points in 43 appearances in 2025-26. If he can't play Monday, then Sam Lafferty will probably draw into the lineup.

    Flames' Devin Cooley: Starting Monday

    Cooley will patrol the home crease against New Jersey on Monday, per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

    Cooley has won his last three outings while stopping 83 of the 88 shots he has faced. He has a 6-4-2 record with a 2.20 GAA and a .921 save percentage through 15 appearances this campaign. New Jersey is tied with the Flames for 28th in the league with 2.58 goals per game this season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Set to face Toronto

    Gustavsson is expected to start on the road against Toronto on Monday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.

    Gustavsson stopped 20 of 24 shots en route to a 5-4 overtime win over Buffalo on Saturday. He's 15-9-5 with a 2.55 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 30 outings in 2025-26. The Maple Leafs are red hot, going 9-1-3 across their past 13 games while averaging 4.08 goals per game in that span.

    Sabres' Alex Lyon: Activated Monday

    Lyon (lower body) was taken off injured reserve Monday, per Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News.

    Josh Norris (ribs) was put on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Lyon has a 10-6-3 record, 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage in 21 outings in 2025-26. Now that he's healthy, Lyon will resume competing for starts with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Colten Ellis. Lyon could be regarded as the No. 1 option, but none of Buffalo's goaltenders are likely to be used as regularly as a typical starter as long as all three are on the active roster.

    Sabres' Josh Norris: Moves to IR

    Norris (ribs) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

    Norris is week-to-week and will miss his third straight game against Carolina on Monday. It's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. Norris has provided six goals, 17 points, 27 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and six hits in only 19 appearances this season.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: In goal Monday

    Bussi will patrol the home crease against Buffalo on Monday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

    Bussi is coming off a 15-save performance in Friday's 9-1 domination of the Panthers. He has a 17-3-1 record with a 2.25 GAA, a .903 save percentage and one shutout through 21 appearances this season. Buffalo sits ninth in the league with 3.28 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Maple Leafs' William Nylander: No timeline for return

    Nylander (groin) has no timeline in place for his return to the ice, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Monday.

    Nylander will miss his second straight game against Minnesota on Monday, and it's unclear when he will be ready to play. Groin injuries can be tricky, and the Maple Leafs will probably be cautious with his recovery. Nylander has compiled 17 goals, 75 shots on net and a team-leading 48 points through 37 appearances this season.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Won't play Monday

    Gostisbehere (lower body) is set to miss Monday's game against Buffalo, according to Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.

    Gostisbehere also missed Carolina's previous two games. He has six goals and 32 points in 35 outings in 2025-26. His next opportunity to return will come Thursday versus Chicago.

  • Hurricanes' William Carrier: Ready to return

    Carrier (lower body) is expected to play Monday versus Buffalo, per Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.

    Carrier missed four straight games due to the injury. He has five goals, 10 points and 91 hits in 38 outings in 2025-26. Jesperi Kotkaniemi might be a healthy scratch against the Sabres due to Carrier's return.

    Maple Leafs' Matthew Knies: Game-time decision

    Knies (lower body) will be a game-time decision against Minnesota on Monday, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports.

    Knies has been dealing with an issue recently, skipping practices and morning skates for maintenance, and he wasn't on the ice for Monday's session. He has accounted for 12 goals, 40 points, 90 shots on net and 99 hits in 45 appearances this season. If Knies can't play against Minnesota, Scott Laughton could occupy a top-six role in Monday's lineup, and Jacob Quillan will probably play.
