  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Contributes pair of helpers

McDavid notched two assists, four shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

McDavid's 20-game point streak ended in Thursday's 1-0 loss to the Islanders. He's bounced back with three helpers over his last two contests, though he's now gone five contests without a goal, his longest stretch without scoring since he took seven games to find the twine to start the season. Still, he's at 85 points (30 goals, 55 assists) with 186 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 50 appearances. He's three points ahead of Nathan MacKinnon in the scoring race this season, though McDavid has played in four additional games.

  • Oilers' Andrew Mangiapane: Gets on scoresheet Sunday

Mangiapane scored a goal in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

Mangiapane's time with Edmonton hasn't gone that well, as he's slipped into a bottom-six role. That's also included some time out of the lineup -- prior to Sunday, he had been scratched for six of the previous 10 games. The winger ended a seven-game point drought with a first-period goal, putting him at six goals and 12 points through 44 appearances. He's added 42 shots on net, 40 hits, 17 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a minus-17 rating. Mangiapane's playing time is safe in the short term, as Kasperi Kapanen (undisclosed) joined Leon Draisaitl (personal) and Adam Henrique (undisclosed) among the Oilers' unavailable forwards, leaving the team with just 11 healthy forwards currently.

  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Scores in 1,000th career game

Nugent-Hopkins scored a power-play goal on three shots in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

Nugent-Hopkins suited up for his 1,000th regular-season game, and he marked the occasion with a tally just 5:55 into the contest. The goal ended an 11-game goal drought for Nugent-Hopkins, who had eight assists in that span. In his career, he's compiled 283 goals and 505 assists in the regular season, as well as 81 points in 96 playoff outings. The longest-tenured Oiler has racked up 40 points (12 goals, 28 assists), 71 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 41 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Oilers' Vasily Podkolzin: One of each Sunday

Podkolzin scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, logged two hits and went plus-3 in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

Podkolzin has three goals and four helpers over his last eight outings. The 24-year-old was on the first line at even strength for the second game in a row, and it looks like he's having no trouble adjusting from Leon Draisaitl (personal) to Connor McDavid. Podkolzin is up to 12 goals, 11 assists, 73 shots on net, 145 hits, 25 PIM and a plus-14 rating over 50 appearances. He's one point shy of matching his total from all 82 regular-season contests last year.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Starring role in win

Hyman scored twice on four shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

Hyman has six goals and two assists over his last five contests. He was involved in the Oilers' last three goals in this game. The veteran winger is up to 19 tallies, 12 helpers, 94 shots on net, 32 hits and a plus-10 rating over 31 appearances. Hyman's impressive run of scoring and consistent role alongside Connor McDavid will keep him among the best wingers in fantasy.

  • Oilers' Connor Ingram: Records 27-save shutout

Ingram posted a 27-save shutout in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Blues.

Ingram picked up his first shutout as an Oiler just a day after Tristan Jarry accomplished the same feat in a road win over Vancouver. The 28-year-old Ingram has gone 3-1-1 over his last five games, allowing just seven goals on 131 shots in that span. For the season, he's up to 5-3-1 with a 2.22 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Ingram is likely looking at a timeshare with Jarry in the near term, though the Oilers also still have Calvin Pickard on the roster for now. Edmonton hosts New Jersey on Tuesday.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Gets no help in loss

Binnington stopped 23 of 28 shots in Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Oilers.

The Oilers had a three-goal first period, and the Blues didn't have a response for that. Binnington has lost three straight outings, allowing 15 goals on 87 shots in those contests. Considering Joel Hofer has won his last two starts, Binnington looks to be slipping more firmly into the backup role at this stage of the campaign. Binnington has an 8-13-6 record with a 3.59 GAA and an .869 save percentage over 28 appearances. The Blues' next game is in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

  • Oilers' Kasperi Kapanen: Injury not considered long term

Kapanen exited Sunday's win over the Blues due to an unspecified injury, but he isn't believed to be facing a long-term absence, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Kapanen recorded just 2:53 of ice time before exiting Sunday's matchup in the first period, and he didn't return down the stretch. Although head coach Kris Knoblauch said after the game that Kapanen wouldn't return immediately, the coach specified that Kapanen's current issue isn't believed to be as bad as some of the winger's previous injuries, so the hope is that he'll be back in action before too long. It's not yet clear whether he'll require a stint on injured reserve, but the Oilers may need to call up another forward unless they elect to roll with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

  • Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Sustains cut above ankle

Sundqvist sustained a cut above his ankle that did not damage his Achilles tendon, which forced him to exit Sunday's game versus the Oilers, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports.

Sundqvist is expected to miss some time, as the cut is deep, but a firm timeline was not provided. The good news is that it's unlikely to be a season-ending injury. Robby Fabbri or Jonatan Berggren will get a chance to play while Sundqvist is out.

  • Kraken's Logan Morrison: Two more goals for Firebirds

Morrison scored two goals in AHL Coachella Valley's 3-0 win over Abbotsford on Sunday.

Morrison is rolling in January with six goals and four assists over eight games. The 23-year-old forward is up to 20 goals and 36 points in 37 outings this season. That puts him fourth in the AHL in goals and 10th in points. Morrison hasn't gotten a call-up to the Kraken yet this season, but he should be in consideration if the big club needs a forward.
