Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Starting Sunday
Thompson will get the start in net Sunday against the Penguins, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Thompson will make his second start in as many days while Charlie Lindgren (upper body) continues to battle an injury that will prevent the latter from suiting up Sunday. Thompson's first time starting both ends of a back-to-back this season comes in a must-win game for the Capitals to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. On the season, the 29-year-old holds a 30-21-6 record, 2.48 GAA and .910 save percentage.

Charlie Lindgren G | WAS
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Still day-to-day
Lindgren (upper body) won't be in the lineup for Sunday's home matchup against Pittsburgh, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Lindgren is still day-to-day and will miss his third straight game. He has posted a 9-8-3 record with one shutout, a 3.52 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 21 appearances this season. Clay Stevenson will be Logan Thompson's backup against the Penguins on Sunday.

Cole Caufield RW | MON
Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Lights lamp Saturday
Caufield scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Caufield scored his 51st goal of the season at the 3:58 mark of the third period, but that wasn't enough to spark a late Montreal comeback. Caufield is having an elite season after becoming the first American player to reach the 50-goal plateau in franchise history, and he'll look to boost his scoring numbers even further in the final two games of the regular season. Caufield is just two points shy of reaching 90 points for the first time in his career, as he has 51 goals and 37 assists in 79 contests.

Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Beaten five times Saturday
Dobes stopped 28 of 33 shots in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets.
Dobes finally saw the end of his productive winning run with a subpar performance, although to be fair, some regression was coming after he had won each of his past seven starts while posting a 1.68 GAA and .948 save percentage in that span. Dobes should remain as the Canadiens' No. 1 goaltender in the final two games of the regular season, although it remains to be seen whether he'll start Sunday against the Islanders in the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Kirill Marchenko RW | CLB
Blue Jackets' Kirill Marchenko: Scores, assists Saturday
Marchenko had an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
Marchenko hadn't scored in the Blue Jackets' last four games, but that hasn't stopped him from being a productive player while holding a top-unit role in both even-strength and power-play situations. Marchenko has tallied nine points (two goals, seven assists), 23 shots on goal, six hits and five blocked shots over his last 10 games while posting a plus-3 rating in that span.

Charlie Coyle C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Charlie Coyle: Snaps scoring drought
Coyle scored two goals, including one on the power play, and took six shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
Coyle had gone pointless in his previous five appearances, but he bounced back admirably here and posted a big game to lift the Blue Jackets to victory. This two-goal performance allowed Coyle to reach the 20-goal plateau just for the third time in his career, and the first since the 2023-24 campaign, when he had 25 goals across 82 regular-season contests with the Bruins. The Blue Jackets have two games left on the regular-season schedule, and Coyle is just two points away from matching his career high of 60, which also came in 2023-24.
-
Jet Greaves G | CLB
Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Strong outing vs. Montreal
Greaves stopped 20 of 22 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens.
Greaves was beaten in the first and third periods, but the offense provided him enough support to cruise to a win on the road. Greaves has been alternating wins and losses over his four starts, a stretch in which he's posted a 2.75 GAA with an .898 save percentage. It remains to be seen if Greaves will also start Sunday against the Bruins on the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Emmitt Finnie C | DET
Red Wings' Emmitt Finnie: Two points in loss vs. NJD
Finnie recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Devils.
This two-point performance snapped Finnie's 11-game goalless streak, and it also ended a three-game streak without a point. Considering he recorded only two points during the 11-game goal drought, it's clear that Finnie shouldn't carry a lot of fantasy appeal despite holding a top-six role. The 20-year-old should stay on waivers in the final days of the regular season, though he's a name to remember for the future, having posted 30 points in 80 games as a rookie.
-
John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Gives up four goals Saturday
Gibson stopped 28 of 32 shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Devils. The fifth goal Detroit allowed was an empty-netter with 60 seconds left in the game.
The Red Wings' playoff hopes were officially extinguished after Saturday's loss, and while Gibson isn't solely to blame for the poor run in recent games, he certainly has some culpability. He has lost three of his last four starts, going 1-2-1 with a 3.43 GAA and a subpar .881 save percentage in that span. It remains to be seen if he'll suit up for either of Detroit's final two games -- at Tampa Bay on Monday and at Florida on Wednesday.

Jack Hughes C | NJ
Devils' Jack Hughes: Scores, assists Saturday
Hughes recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Red Wings.
Hughes has found the back of the net in back-to-back games, and even though the Devils are out of playoff contention, the star playmaker remains a valuable fantasy asset across all formats due to his heavy involvement in New Jersey's offensive scheme. Hughes is ending the season on a strong note with five multi-point performances over his last eight contests, tallying 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) and a plus-6 rating over that stretch.
