  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: One of each Saturday

Staal scored a goal, registered an assist, placed four shots on net and added two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth.

Staal found the back of the net just over 13 minutes into regulation before picking up a secondary helper in the final seconds of the contest on Sean Walker's empty-net goal. Overall, Staal is up to 20 goals, 36 points, 107 shots on net, 166 hits and 48 blocked shots across 75 games this season. With a pair of games remaining on Carolina's regular-season schedule, the team captain is just two points shy of matching his highest point total across his last eight regular seasons. The 37-year-old center hasn't lost a step since last season, as he's matched or surpassed his season totals in most major stat categories from a year ago. He has eight points in his last 11 games.

  • Capitals' Mitchell Gibson: Returned to AHL

Gibson was loaned to AHL Hershey on Sunday.

Washington recalled Clay Stevenson from the minors in a corresponding move. Due to the absence of Charlie Lindgren (upper body), Gibson was Logan Thompson's backup for the last two games. The 26-year-old Gibson has posted a 9-8-3 record with a 2.79 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 22 AHL appearances this season.

  • Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Sets career high in points

Svechnikov tallied a power-play goal, fired five shots on net, served two PIM and dished out two hits in Saturday's 4-1 win over Utah.

Svechnikov found the back of the net on a power play less than five minutes into regulation Saturday in his return to the lineup after getting a game of rest Thursday. The power-play goal helped him reach 70 points on the season, which surpassed his previous career high of 69 points across 78 regular-season games during the 2021-22 campaign. Svechnikov flipped a switch offensively in the new calendar year to help secure the 70-point campaign, as he has compiled 19 goals and 35 points over his last 32 games. He's currently on a seven-game point streak and holds strong fantasy value in all formats for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

  • Hayden Hodgson RW | OTT

Senators' Hayden Hodgson: Summoned from AHL

Hodgson has been recalled from AHL Belleville by the Senators, the team announced Sunday.

With the Senators officially in a a playoff spot, Hodgson has been recalled to join the team for the last two regular-season games. The 30-year-old has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 47 games on the season. It wouldn't be surprising to see him draw into the lineup Sunday despite the team having extra forwards up already to give some of the regulars a break down the stretch.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Allows three goals in loss

Vejmelka stopped 26 of 29 shots on net in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Vejmelka gave up a pair of goals in both the first and third periods of Saturday's contest en route to the loss. Overall, he now holds a 37-20-3 record, a 2.72 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 62 appearances this season. Saturday's loss snapped the 29-year-old netminder's five-game win streak, as he ended up with his first regulation loss since March 24. Vejmelka has been one of the league's true workhorse goalies this season and still has a chance to tie or surpass Tampa Bay's Andrei Vasilevskiy for most wins by a netminder in the NHL this season.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Builds win streak Saturday

Andersen turned away 26 of 27 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth.

Andersen picked up his second consecutive win Saturday, as he kept the Mammoth off the scoreboard until early in the third period. With the win, he now holds a 16-14-5 record, a 3.05 GAA and an .874 save percentage through 35 appearances this season. Since the Olympics, the 36-year-old netminder has taken a step closer to his form in prior years with a 9-4-0 record and a 2.70 GAA across his last 13 outings. His save numbers have fluctuated during that time, however, making Andersen a risky option for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

  • Noah Dobson D | MON

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Out at least two weeks

Dobson (upper body) will miss the rest of the regular season and will be reevaluated in two weeks, the team announced Sunday.

Dobson sustained the injury Saturday against the Blue Jackets after blocking a shot that hit his thumb. The two-week reevaluation period means he'll also miss at least the first week of Montreal's postseason run. His first regular season with the Canadiens comes to a close with the 26-year-old registering 47 points (12 goals, 35 assists) in 80 games.

  • Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Summoned from AHL

Reinbacher was recalled from AHL Laval on Sunday.

Reinbacher has five goals and 24 points in 57 AHL appearances this season. Due to injuries to Noah Dobson (upper body) and Alexandre Carrier (upper body), the 21-year-old Reinbacher could make his NHL debut as early as Sunday's matchup against the Islanders.

  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Two helpers in Saturday's win

Duchene notched two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Rangers.

The veteran center had a hand in two third-period tallies by Jason Robertson that broke open a scoreless tie. It was Duchene's first multi-point performance since March 12, and on the season he's managed 16 goals and 42 points in 55 games.

  • Stars' Jason Robertson: Supplies only offense Saturday

Robertson scored two goals, including the game-winner on the power play, in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Rangers.

The star winger broke open a scoreless tie by beating Igor Shesterkin on the backhand midway through the third period, then added an empty-netter for good measure. Robertson has found the back of the net in three straight games, and he has supplied 10 goals and 20 points over his last 16 appearances. While he'll almost certainly fall short of reaching 100 regular-season points for the second time in his career -- Robertson has 94 points with two games left on the schedule -- he needs two more goals to tie his career high of 46 from the 2022-23 regular season.
